  • DISCLAIMER: I was under the assumption that he makes his tails himself but he is just the designer, the manufacture is Tectonics in Maui.
In this entry I try out the KD Marlin 13 tail stabilizer and instantly connect with it. It's really a great looking tail and stoked on how well it paired with my Unifoil setup. I also began to try a offset stance which was awkward at the beginning but I realized that it allowed me to maneuver better. I am going to try practicing that stance more on my indo board just to get more used to it. The next entry I will giving my first impression of the Progression 140 front wing. Not going to lie I am a little nervous about it being too small but I also think that I am over lifting my Hyper 210. Non the less I am STOKED to just try another front wing and everyone that has a progression has said nothing but amazing things about it. That is all for this entry. Please hit that like button and subscribe if you haven't already.

Thanks for adding all your Kit in the info. Offset foot position for sure to get the most out of the Foil. Loooking forward to seeing you on your next board!

whats the easiest foil by unifoil to pump? 210 or progression 170? What about the 250? would that be good for a heavier rider?

I don’t have enough experience to give you an accurate answer. I would think the 250 would give you plenty of lift and since it’s a hyper 2 it’s still super quick. But…. I would suggest either reaching out to The Foil Shop in Seal Beach CA and speak to Josh. He pointed me in the right direction. You can also chat with the guys from Unifoil on their site itself. When the site loads it gives you the option to start a conversation with a sales rep on the lower right hand side of the screen. They are very helpful. Hope this helps ✌️

Your progress has been amazingly fast! Also just a note to say that KDW‘s tails are not built by him. He has all his tails built by Tectonics Maui.

Ow good to know. I will have to address that in the next one. Thanks for the heads up and thanks for the support.

Nah 140 won’t be too small on a prone. I pump all over the place on the 170 with a 6’6 110 litre downwind sup. I just ordered the 140… not because I’ve ever felt overwinged on the 170 but because my cardio and effort is so low on the 170 that i want to see how much speed/turning the 140 has. The 170 is less effort to pump around than my old takuma 1095… which this time last year was considered an incredible pumping wing. 140 is just a number… I wouldn’t pay much attention to it. They’ve clearly done something to the foil section which makes it ride as easy as a bigger foil (but still turn like a 140)

I appreciate the confidence on the 140. Also stoked to hear you are enjoying yours so much. Results to follow! ✌️
