- Taking the Accord out for a drive and ranting for a little bit about the challenges Honda and other automotive manufacturers are faced with and the choices they have made so far.

Who thinks Honda should have kept the 2.0T in the Accord as an option?
I think they should have kept the v6!

My first car was a 95 Accord and I drove it to around 300k miles and parked it running. I then got the 2013 9th Gen Civic Si I still drive in 2018 and I really like the car. It's been super reliable and all I've really needed to do is basic maintenance so far. It's a K24 with around 200HP for anyone that doesn't know. I do have some rust which is a drag, but it starts every time I turn the key whether it's 110 degrees out or -10. It's been through snow storms and even a hurricane, but looking at what Honda makes right now, I don't see a single car I'd rather drive. If I had to make a list, I'd ask for more power (250HP should do it), better upholstery, Car Play/Android Auto, and better blind spot visibility. That's not a huge list for someone that's been driving a car for five years.
@@Contreramanjaro I leaned to drive manual on a 92 Accord back in the late nineties…loved that car, perfect size, smooth 5 speed…just did everything well.
i think they started to go down when they switched to macpherson strut front suspension instead of the multi-link front (when the rsx came in); that was kind of the beginning of the end

Nobody makes reliable cars any more. Not even Toyota. Sheep say to just buy Toyota, but they have no idea what they are talking about. Also, I'm an old school Hyundai fan, but they can't build an engine any more. There's even a lifetime warranty on their 2.4 Theta II - some people are on their 3rd free engine. It's insane. These are some of the worse times in the auto industry. IMO Mazda might make the most reliable vehicles today - if you can put up with their firm rides and road noise.
@@ShowMeWhatINeedToKnow Both my uncles have new Mazdas and they are both happy with them. The build quality is solid for the money and I like the interiors.
The 1.5 turbocharged 2018 civic me and my wife got rid of cause its already having issues at 50k miles, we bought a 2002 accord with the legendary 2.4 engine cash it runs better which is crazy 😂
@@chefrobertcaldas Those were great!
1.5T in CR-V is a deal breaker, I preferred 2.4 K Series in CRV

An interesting vid man
YOUR Honda model/yr has a great rep ur lucky to hav it keep it until the wheels fall off
@@ezzzzrrrs7646 Thanks! So far so good 🙏
I had 2 Accords a CA5 & a CD5. I looked at buying a CR-V but the only powertrain offered on the newer models is the L15 turbo + CVT no thanks I got a RAV4 instead.

What’s gonna be the next popular Honda motor after the K series is something I’ve always thought about
@@Thao_hung Good question
Hey! The new Hondas engines are pretty reliable. They got dinged for their entertainment systems. I’m with you though that the 90s were their best. I’m still holding onto my G3 Integra. 😊
@@FinalVibes The G3 Integra looks great 💯
the only thing new that i might be interested in is the nissan versa manual; maybe a used fit with a manual if i can find one
@@akiostewart The Fit is great…probably hard to find a good one…can’t go wrong with a manual and the Versa is very affordable.
I have two CRV's both with the 2.5 engines. I'm keeping both b/c 1.5 are crap. They added
1.5 and put a turbo on it add's nothing but expence for parta and labor to install. I've talked
to mechanics who said that many returned to be repaired. Why, b/c you have to drive them
alittle differantly. Start of easy for the first few miles to get the oil up to the turbo and on top
of that before shutting off let it run to "cool down'. All because they think of added gas mileage, just plain BS b/c you get no more than a few more miles per gallon and headaches
down the road. A new CRV....nope not untill they go back to what really works and lasts
longer. They have to stand up to this stupid EPA BS and say "we can't add anymore cost
to our vehicle line without cost and shutdowns and layoffs.
😒
@@brucejones5440 Exactly! The EPA and the climate Nazis are out of control…it’s insanity
What do you think of the 9th gen 4 cyl with the CVT? I think the 9th gen is the last good Accord. The 10th gens are so ugly!
@@willieswift9580 it’s not so much the 4 cylinder as it is the CVT…but I think the 9th Gen looks good.
Honda started going downhill when they went to General Motors
