Same exact thing happened to me with the sound. I had never bought into the idea of a “break in” period however this experience changed my mind. When I first started using them the treble sounded artificial and the bass sounded neutered. I went back and forth between my Hifiman Ananda, Sigva Robins, and the Ace trying to figure out what was wrong, I was disappointed but kept them because of the Sonos Arc transfer feature which I loved. A few weeks in they sounded good to me. This morning I went back and compared the other headphones again. I did NOT just get used to them. Clearly the sound improved with use. Thanks for this video!

I’ve tried these twice and they weren’t horrible. The soundstage sounds recessed. I purchased the AirPods MAX and the soundstage was more pleasing to the ear. The SONY XM5’s are good as well.

@@TemujinScott80 Completely agree with that take. I’ve also tried the AirPods Max and also preferred the way they sounded a bit more. Not to mention the integration with the Apple ecosystem

Nice review. I had the same exact experience with the "break-in" period. As someone with multiple Sonos speakers, I was a bit disappointed with them at first and thought they sounded flat and the volume was too low. But after a couple of days of listening it seemed like the sound improved significantly. Now I love them.

My Beam 2 and Sub Mini sound pretty flat and muffled. I think it's Sono's idea of how things should sound. My standard VW Polo radio sounds better, my AirPod Pro's sound better. Sonos are my most expensive and worst sounding speakers. It's all hype.
Also the chrome bits on these headphones looks really tacky and cheap. I would prefer aluminium or just colour matched buttons

so interesting to hear other people that went through this same thing. i can't say that i've had anything like this happen with any headphones other than these

@@sambowks that's so weird i always had this idea of sonos in my head as a really high quality system because of the supposed sound no tjust the brand 😭 maybe i'm wrong about that. honestly i'm kinda concerned with how the chrome will wear on these. like you said it feels pretty cheap. almost like there's a super thin layer of chrome paint on plastic buttons

@@sambowks that's strange. I have a Beam 2 and a Sub Mini paired with 2 Era 300s and they sound fantastic. I'm assuming you True Played them? If they sound so flat and you spent so much money on them, why didn't you just return them?

Does the frequency response change after the break in period? heard the mids are forward due to the high bass being overemphasized

@@BladeRunnerJP11 I can’t confirm whether it actually does but, to my ears, it sounds like the mids do come forward and make everything sound more full!
