Killer lineup of XC race bikes! Not sure which one you are faster on. I’m team hardtail but that SUP is sweeeeet 🤤! Good luck this weekend with the BT Epic!
@@RunBikeMikewhat you said about hardtails making your local trails more fun is so true. I bought an Aventon Ramblas because of your recommendation and they make everything I ride at my skill level so much fun. And I honestly wouldn't do anything gnarlier if I could and I don't race so a full sus is wasted on me
My son got a Marin team 1 a few months ago(hard to find team 2s), he is 11 year old, his is also modified and weighs 11.5kg, has an inferior shock, Rockshox judy silver which weighs 2.3kg, can't upgrade the fork for now as run out of $$. He races against an older kid with stupid light 8.7kg hardtail, has a race in 2 days will see if he can keep up with that faster kid after the recent upgrades, recently got him Hunt xc race wheels, 2.2in Scorpions xc rc lites, lighter disc rotors/saddle/seat post and also has alloy Sunrace cassette. Upgrades cost more than the bike cost. He is just about keeping up with me on my hardtail on 35-40 kmh sprinting(all out sprints) which is very impressive. I wish his bike wasn't size small so that I can ride it sometimes, my hardtail weighed 14.7kg and I had to ditch the Maxxis aggressor rear tire for an xc tire just so I can keep up with him on the trails. The Team 2 is so well specced that it is a much better buy than the Team 1.
My XC bike is now a aggressive hardtail with a 160mm helm and a 64.2 degree head angle. I always F that up with XC stuff 😂 About the 34 step cast, I borrowed my friend's bike (epic with a 34 & DPS) and to be perfectly honest I could not only feel the flex while steering but also a ton of washer shake at braking, coming from trail/Enduro forks you definitely notice it being "loose" 😅
Those Superiors are just so gorgeous. my kind of XC bike for sure!
If I was in the market no questions I'd get a superior. Value for money "used prices levels" 😜
Dude the bike is unreal….unreal
For the amount paid and the upgrades I was really surprised it weighed 26 pounds
I wanted the Team Marin2 for a long time but I'm glad I bought the Ibis DV9 instead.. same fork better stand over height and lower weight.
That is one bike I want to try. I hear good things about it.

Thanks Mike. I definitely feel faster on the Superior but that Marin holds a special place in my heart.

@jermboat44 every ride on a hardtail is so much fun. The Ramblas is one prime example of pure fun.

That is awesome tell him good luck at the race
There's a dork tax on road/gravel and xc bike components/ parts. It's kind of ridiculous
It is for sure more expensive.
The road bike industry has never denied their Italian origins. Shit's expensive 🫰😂
Thx.great review
Thanks 😊

XTR is the Dura-Ace of the MTB world
100% true
That's why I run TRP drivetrains, people think it's microshift or Box.
Nah. Shifts like XTR, looks like nothing 😂
Interesting I might have to check them out
Bike cost more than my car. I think I'll just keep riding my old mountain bikes. I am not some down hill demon.
Neither of these bikes are for downhill demons
More like XC racer, or wannabe racers
