I went to your Saturday live chat and requested for you to react to Amira Willighagen and David Cerna singing "Down From His Glory". I guess it went unseen. I've been following her music for quite a while now. She's a wonderful Christian girl with an incredible voice. She won Holland's Got Talent in 2013 as a self taught opera singer. She is all over TH-cam and has sung all over the world. I really think she is worth a listen.
Loved the original, Jim Croce was one of the best story telling song writers of the early 70's, one that we lost way too early. Geoff has done him proud with this cover.
Geoff does know some beatboxing.
He was the one who started teaching Layne to beatbox after their original beatboxer, Scott Porter, moved on to become an actor.
Geoff is wonderful! Jim Croce was big during the hippie era; he died young.
That scat was done in the beginning by Croce, at least 2 octaves higher......
Great reaction!
I love the original - and this is a Worthy Cover!
Sharing the Geoff love!
Great reaction, thanks for jumping on this so quickly.
HUSH! You leave his gun show alone! There’s never too much gun show! 🤤
My fave VP vid is Cheerleader and it has nothing to do with the song and everything to do with the fact they were all showing off. 😁
I get a kick out of the chores in that one. Especially when they tried to hide Earl behind Eli!
Look into the Late Great Jim Croce from the 70's-80's.....he was one of the entertainers killed in an aircrash....died too young...."Time in a bottle" is another song....check his catalog...>^^
❤️
Look at Jim Croce's body of work. He did some fun songs like this one and some beautiful ones like Time in a Bottle (sing it for your lovely wife). He was only 30 when the pilot that was flying them away from their concert in Louisiana had a heart attack and hit a tree on takeoff. His son does do some concerts where he sings his dad's music. Geoff did a terrific version of this. Lord, help me but he has been working out - those arms! Slim took over that spot that had belonged to Jim.
I had never heard this song before today, but I'm pretty sure this is better than the original.
The original was a bit 'boppy'. Geoff added some needed menace to what basically amounts to a Pool Hall fight! I was a teen when this song came out and I don't know how I missed that 'Slim' won the fight back then.
One version's not better than the other. They're both great in different ways. You should always listen to the, you know, the one who actually recorded it first and inspired the version that you watched.
@@jshound1508 Which version of songs is best is a matter of preference of course. But some artists have stated that covers have taken their songs to another level, like the Johnny Cash version of "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails, the Disturbed version of "The Sound Of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel, the Falling In Reverse version of "Last Resort" by Papa Roach, for examples.
His solo channel isn't a capella. He does all the instruments with plug-ins on his keyboard.
Unless you see him playing guitar or harmonica.
Great video again, Brad. Nothing that Geoff does surprises me anymore. I expect greatness with each new video. This video gave me "Sixteen Tons" flashbacks. P.S - Your song intro, Just Be Bored, needs to be on the radio. Have you tried to submit it to a radio station?
It’s a Jim Croce song.
Listen to the original and the top covers are by Josh turner and Jerry Reed. This is my favorite version of all of them❤ my favorite part of this song when I first heard it was that Slim came in and beat the arrogant con man Jim 😂
❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Hows the fam doing? Im a fan btw
First for the first time😂😂
Geoff's the best! 💯
The song is an old Jim Croce. Maybe you're too young to know of him. 🤣
It's a song from the 60s buy a man named Jim Croce he died in 73
Geoff has taken Jim Croce's original and made it his own!!! Jim Croce was from back in the 70's!!!
You cant mess wth Jim, he is dead.
