That last scene when Shiva gets possessed by Gulliga is peak cinema. As many times you watch it, it doesn't get old. You always get goosebumps. Rishab Shetty's performance is on another level.
According to Rishab Shetty, he recorded Daiva's call (woah sound) at the end because it differs as the story progresses. "The call in the beginning is a mark of existence, while in the end it's a warning.
@@ChaatNChat Extremely important: This movie was recorded with the Daiva's permission. Anyone else is not supposed to mock the call of the Daiva. You may even find Indian short videos where they mock the call. It is wrong. Such knowledge of Daivas are limited to some parts of India, and as such, even other parts of India do not know the dos and don'ts
* Long comment alert.. * Lot of detailing in this movie which you might miss.. Just wanted to share some.. 1) the kid in start winks at the girl nd she smiles, its not shown simply.. Its to show they knew each other since childhood.. 2) The names of certain characters connected with their behavior or stuff they do.. Like Shiva has a treehouse named Kailasa which is actually like the home of Lord Shiva.. His friend named Bulla, who's always with him doesn't hesitate to come forward nd protect him during any fight, is a reference to Nandi (the Bull god) who is actually the protector of Lord Shiva.. 3) The scenes where Shiva misbehaves are the nights he gets those nightmares coz its trying to remind/show him his true purpose but after seeing his father disappear, he's grown to be too scared of it which is why he always ran away from it.. That's why in the climax he finally tries to understand why it happens to him nd then finds the purpose of it.. 4) The subtle depiction of caste/class system where landlord sits on a chair nd villagers on the ground or the fact that villagers are not allowed to step inside landlord's house, the landlord washes his hands after touching shiva and even sprinkles holy water in his house after shiva had entered his house.. 5) There's only a certain family of ppl that can perform the kola rituals which passes on generation after generation, not anyone can perform it.. (Even Rishab Shetty actually took permission from the demigod Panjurli to play this character nd wear the demigod costume) 6) Also the fireworks are handled by a muslim coz mostly in costal regions its the muslims who make the fireworks.. 7) Panjurli (the protector of the land) is painted in yellow nd guliga (the protector of the boundaries or the gatekeeper) is painted in black which is why he falls on a sort of black soil in the climax 8) the sword at the end used to kill the landlord was the same sword which the king sacrifices in the start of the movie.. even till date I've heard nd seen this happen that through such demigods, a lot of old weapons, god statues, many antiques have been unearthed at the most random places nd when researched about them have dated back to centuries ago..
Wow, great details. I love that you took the time to make such a detailed comment. I already loved this movie but these details really add another level. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻😊❤️
It's Our Panjurli Daiva and in the End what Our God Comes is Guliga The Kshetra Palaka of the Lands ❤ We in Tulunadu Still Celebrate this festival Bootaradane Aka Kola in our Homes 🕉️ Bharat is The Land of Gods... And Yankulu Tulunadiga , Kannadigas of the Ancient Bharat 🕉️
That's my culture🙏🙏bhoota kola and daiva darshana are an integral part of our culture..we ask questions and solutions to our lives from our god's directly..it's quite indigenous but god's protect the righteous always🙏🙏
If u have missed out from ur observation ... The yellow demigod is panjurli - who is soft in nature .... The last climax scene where demigod posseses him that is another demigod called guliga - the fiery demigod .... In the beginning of the movie the demigod (panjurli) in the forest says to the king that even if panjurli forgives, guliga wont forgive if they break the promise ... So to be careful ... And guliga takes the revenge in the climax.... It is believed in Mangalore , kundapura and Udupi that demigods like panjurli , guliga and many more guards the land of that area .... There are many more such demigods in these areas... Panjurli is in the form of a wild boar and is depicted in yellow color... Panjurli is always accompanied with another demigod called Guliga which is in the form of a black stone and is depicted in black color ... Guliga is believed to have been born from a black stone ..
I really loved how Miguel felt it, when the Demigod started to grab the hands of the people who believed in him. And also when Shiva met his Dad. His eyes teared up just like mine did.😂🥰❤️
Rishab Shetty getting beat by the torches wasn't CGI & he also I think sprained his ankle or hurt himself somehow when he was doing the bull race earlier on. Apart from the whole song controversy this film and rishab is absolutely amazing
You reaction is good beacuse india is very diverse so many languages and religion living here and you understand our diverse culture very well unlike other youtubers
Spending a lot of time in India (living there for many years) I have many friends from all over India that tell me about their state. I am so amazed by India and how unique of a country it is with so many different languages and cultures and customs. Truly a place someone could visit over 100 times and still not see everything.
It actually happens that people don’t let demigod go out from the temple during the ceremony. As they actually get vanish is what is believed in villages. So that’s what is depicted in the movie too
Wow, so interesting. I really haven't spent much time talking about these things outside of Delhi so it is so fascinating to watch this movie. India is such an amazingly diverse place. ❤️🙏🏻
@@ChaatNChat It is a land of contrasts. Hence you can say almost any opposite stuff about India, and still be true. Like there are places which are unbearably hot and places that are crazy frigid. There are extremely clean and civilized cities, and there are cities where you cant tell the road from the gutter. So it is easy for people outside of India to paint it as they want. Always be careful of such videos / articles / promoters and demoters.
This movie is about the Varha(Boar) avatar of god Vishnu. There are many avatars, but 10 are the most prominent ones and the Varha avatar is his 3rd avatar. Ram and Krishna are also avatars of Vishnu.
There are two demigods 1) panjurli (lord Vishnu(yellow), disciplined version of God, goes by rules) 2) guliga ( lord Shiva(black), gullible and ferocious version of God, do not go by rules, also known as great destructor)
The best thing about this movie is it was shot absolutely using natural lights and elements. Part 2 is on the way. 😁 By the way, there's an underrated movie, which did do well in the box office, but won many awards. It's TUMBBAD, and this was shot on natural lights as well as natural climatic changes. Mutch watch, you'll love the cinematography and the elements.
Guess what? Rishabh performed all his stunts on his own without any stunt double, his wife said he ended breaking quite a few bones. His wife also plays the role of the queen and was the costume designer for the movie!
When Daiva came in Shiva and the spark in your eyes was my favourite part .... It shows the dedication and impact of this scene on you and it's just the best.
In some specific Daiva ceremony, we hold hand in hand to create a chain, so that the Daiva doesn't leave the place, there had been incidents where the chain was broken and never seen the performer again
You should search for Stories legends of both demigods panjurli the farm god and guliga the guardian(angry god). One is part of shiva one is part of vishnu. In movie shiva represents guliga and murli (forest officer) represents panjurli. Both fight through film but at the end both comes together to serve people. That's the same story of both demigods.
You should absolutely watch some epic based movies - 1. Bajirao Mastani 2. Jodha Akbar Besides these some visually stunning films are - 3. Gangubai Kathiawadi (a MUST) 4. The word devil comes from daiva, or deva/devi wirh its creepy amd death forms. That's also the reason why his mom keeps hitting stating that we shouldn't kill boars as they are like divine to us.
Nah this is not Varaha, it's a different deity
