Björk's singing always gives me a sense of freedom, and her unique voice speaks to me on different levels. Joga is a beautiful anthem, an ode to her home country, Iceland, as we can also see in the official video. I love the lyrics especially in the refrain.
It's one of the easiest songs to listen to, some other songs by her are definitely more complex.
Your video makes me think of how I got into Björk at the beginning. The first Björk song I ever listened to is Human Behaviour, it was love at first listen. But that one might be too challenging for him right now. I'd definitely recommend that you make him listen to songs such as Bachelorette, Blissing Me, Big Time Sensuality, All is Full of Love, Hyperballad, I've Seen It All, maybe also Unravel is a fitting one. Her performance of All Neon Like and of Immature at the Cambridge live concert is amazing. Since he enjoys the strings, a few songs from Vulnicura might be a good option too. Even though making him listen to songs such as Ancestors, Earth Intruders or Enjoy would be fun, to see his reactions lol.
I totally agree with you. And I was so happy that this song was good for him haha. I also had the love at first listen with Human Behaviour. She clicked for me. One of my all time favorite songs will always be Play Dead. But alsoHyperballad. The wifi in our home is called Hyperballad 😂 And I had the lyrics printer on wallpaper behind our bed 🤩☺️😎
@@stufr.reacts Yeah, Play Dead is amazing 👍 I am from Italy, and fun fact there is a TV channel here where they make use of the instrumental introduction of Play Dead as an opening theme before broadcasting movies. I was very surprised the first time I heard that, it's a cool idea!

This is the first time hearing this song. Her voice combined with the live orchestra in this performance. So melodic & so beautiful. Sounds so romantic. I loved it.
I love how the björk fan (didn't catch his name) is so enthusiastic and can't help but point out small details that he loves about the song and the performance.
I've done that so many times myself when sharing an artist or a song that I love with someone.

I feel as you do about the song, Dennis. The combination of the simple but emotionally complex lyrics and the beautiful orchestration really pulls at my heart strings. Many of Björk's songs are like the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi--perfection in imperfection and impermanence.
I'm just expressing a gut feeling, and pardon me if I'm being too personal. I think Dennis wants you to hear what he hears in Björk's music, Tim, because the very deep emotions he feels when he listens to it connect to his love for you. ❤

Dennis i'm with you! my ex couldn't stand loic so... i understand your pain!.. waouh i didn't expect that! it's so emotionnal i think i should begin to listen to bjork .. i don't really take time to listen to music i don't already know , i did it before but i don't know why.. i watch a lot of youtube videos, a lot of everything.. but to rest and listen to music.. i think i never do that ! i put it on my playlist! yes dennis you described her voice so well , pure and raw! that's it!

I am a HUGE Björk fan and I was actually at this very show! But this is the worst performance of Joga she ever did and I’ve ever heard! This was a bad joga choice. You want the Voltaic or Jools versions. This was bad.
