I finally got it to work in my car. 2015 Legacy with 7" Nav (updated to MirrorLink 1.1), Samsung Galaxy S7 (Android 7.0), original usb cable, LG Mirror Drive installed, Button Savior installed and running in the background, and...a very important step that worked for me...Samsung MirrorLink 1.1 (version 1.1.08). The Samsung MirroLink version on my phone would always show the dreaded blue screen "MirrorLink is in operation" screen. From my phone's home screen, I clicked on the SETTINGS wheel, selected APPS, then clicked on upper right corner ". . ." and selected "Show system apps", then scrolled down to "Samsung MirrorLink 1.1" then looked for option to "uninstall updates". These steps brought my mirrorlink back to the version 1.1.08, which lets me mirror my phone like in this video. Common issues: anytime I switch between an app, the blue screen does appear. I have to go back to click on LG MirrorDrive, then radio's app button and radio's mirrorlink button. Also, Netflix app does not stream the video, only the sound. Plex works, youtube works.
How did you uninstall updates? I followed your instructions but I don't have an option to uninstall updates. I've only got disable/force stop and then notification rules and mem/battery stats. I've got a Samsung Galaxy S6.
after clicking on "Samsung MirrorLink", the next screen would appear, with buttons to "disable" for "force stop:. At the top right, were another three dots ". . .", when I click on that, the option to "uninstall update" would pop up. Again, this was on an S7.

I am trying to make it work with S7 Edge running Android 8.0 without success, always end up with "Now MirrorLink TM is playing" I have tried alternate solution with Floating Apps for Auto, it works but it is not great so it would be great if you could answer my additional questions: Do you get keyboard in google maps/waze? Does the zoom work for you?
Did you bring your Forster to the dealership to have it updated to Mirrorlink 1.1 in order to do this because I have an LG G5 with a 2017 Forester 2.0XT premium and it doesn't seem to work. Also your Forester is the 2.0XT premium or limited model? Thanks
That doesn't work either, literally just today the stereo was updated, they tried charging be $110 for an hour of "labor". I pointed out it takes literally 5 minutes and its a safety concern due to the connectivity of a device that can call 911, and the dealer finally agreed to just update the crap radio. No go. Starlink, what garbage it is, works, but no Mirrorlink.
@@Qpaification yes, but the system response time gets slower every minute. I used it over a month and got so fed up it wasn't worth it at all. Samsung doesn't have mirrorlink certificates anymore so if you don't have it now you won't have it ever. Wasnt worth it in the long run honestly.
@@rivera82falcon Thanks for reply, I bought S7 to play with mirrorLink because it still has valid certificates, unfortunately I am having problems with this solution because I always end up in blue error screen but mine says "Now MirrorLink TM is playing" not "MirrorLink TM is in operation" like on the video and going to apps and again to mirrorlink doesn't help. I might be having this troubles because I have Subaru Outback 2015 although I had dealer update the head unit few years back. I think I will need to accept defeat.

Hoped this would work on a 17 WRX, phone used Galaxy S7. Have not worked for me. I get a message that LG mirrordrive only works with LG phones, and I am not able to make it go away.

THE LG MIRRORDRIVE APP NO LONGER WORKS ON ANY PHONE EXCEPT LG. The Note 5 connects but only with Mirrorlink apps NO WAZE or GOOGLE. I tried it on my 2017 Subaru Forester.

Dianne McCarthy, MirrorLink was an option on my car, and is only turned on if you have an app on your phone, hence the LG app. I hope I answered your question.

I have tried as you suggested with my S5 and all I get is blue screen with ""Mirrorlink is now in operation", the phone screen does not display and the phone itself is blank. How do you check what version of MirroLink is on the head unit?
I only did the suggested, which was just turning the accessibility on. You'll know its working properly when you have the "shadow" buttons on your phone's screen.
Just a heads up LG MirrorDrive does NOT work with Samsung phones. More than likely Samsung blocked it on a recent OS update.Even the earliest MirrorDrive APKs do not work, so it doesn't appear the block was on the LG side.
it works on my Samsung Galaxy S7. Try uninstalling updates for the Samsung MirrorLink version on your phone and have it revert back to the stock version. I did it tonight, and it works. The actual LG MirroDrive app doesn't work, but what it does is apparently fool mirrorlink to attempt to run it, and when it fails, the app closes down and your android background appears on the head unit.

try reverting back to the original Samsung mirrorlink version. I always got the same blue screen message too. I fixed it today. Read my comments above it you have any questions.

I don't get it -- why is Mirrorlink needed when everything can be done directly from the smart phone by itself? Wouldn't it be unsafe to operate Mirrorlink while driving anyway? If you're stopped, just use the smart phone directly.

Subaru 2018 and Samsung Galaxy S9+. It definitely works using LG MirrorDrive 1.2.1.1. This is the first time I've seen the button work on my screen.
How are you guys getting LG Mirrordrive working on Samsung phones?

What happens when you through the vehicle in reverse and back? Does the backup camera come on? Do you have to enable MirrorDrive again?

What did you mean by "plug into USB"? Did you have a dongle you plugged into the USB, that overroad the head unit?
There is a USB port under the infotainment screen - this needs to be plugged into your phone. It won't work over bluetooth.

I can confirm that this hack does not anymore work since LG Mirror Drive does not anymore start on non-LG phones.
Have you tried an older version of LG Mirror Drive?
