I just came from Canada for the weekend and yes please fill up your tanks in the US before crossing the border. They’re running on kmh and not Mph, so if you see 70, 80 or 100 kmh is equivalent to 45, 50 and 60 Mph

I take the 407 somewhat often as I work near Pearson. It’s quite a bit cheaper to take it in off peak times, like weekends and late evenings.

Thank you for sharing that. For some reason when we converted it, we listed it as CDN $. It would have made more sense to show the US $

40 years ago when i went into canada from Washington state, it was like "have a good time", "enjoy Canada!"
But coming back into the US, it was the third degree!, "where have you been, where did you go, what did you do" had me pull over, tore my car apart, treated me like crap, like a felon.

That sure would discourage you from wanting to cross again. They do ask a lot of questions, but I guess each border, and agent can be different. I hope you get a chance to visit again with a different experience.
      Thanks for watching.

    I'm driving from VA.
Weekend trip. So you said not to take 407. I would like to stay downtown Toronto. Is Niagara closer coming in or Toronto?

Coming from VA, you would drive through Niagara before Toronto. Niagara is immediately after crossing the border. If you do go to downtown Toronto , don’t take the 407.
While staying downtown Toronto is convenient so be prepared for Hotel prices to be high. If you want to save money I would suggest staying a little further out on the subway line. Thanks for watching.

The 407 is an ETR “express toll route” and it’s very expensive

Wish we had better transit and less highways at least for tourist so they wouldn’t have to drive everywhere

We agree that something needs to be done. Having the title of the city with the worst traffic in North America is not one we want.
      Thanks for watching.
