And while you are right that male celebrities especially rappers get away with a lot of messed up things and at times even worse, it doesn’t excuse what Doja Cat has done. Also you have to take into consideration that in the hip hop genre, the target audience is people (mostly male audience) that don’t really give af about the controversies of the rapper they follow. Meanwhile Doja Cat is more categorized under the pop genre (also more mainstream) and has predominantly female fans that actually look up to her as a person and her work. A hip hop artist can get away with a lot more than a pop artist will ever get away with regardless of their gender. And yes it’s unfair. And regarding Doja Cat, its more than the men she has dated. It involves her history and her attitude towards her fans. Part of the reason why people are taking who she is dating seriously, is because of the “chat room” incident that happened a few years ago. No offense but if a white pop female artist was caught in a racist chat room regardless if she was doing it for jokes, she would’ve been immediately cancelled. The other part is her constant disrespect towards her other own fans in which there were multiple occasions. Doja Cat is a very interesting case of too famous too sudden. She blew up during the pandemic, but before then she was just a normal artist. Me personally, i think fame and the industry isn't something she has fully learned to navigate to this day. I don't know for sure, but she seems less happy now than before and its showing. She's grasping at straws trying to keep her own identity, untainted by the wants and expectations of others I feel like she's lashing out against the people, maybe even going through some sort of mania to cope with the newfound success/pressure. She wants to make it so very clear that she is here to give you music, not a personality tailored to society's expectations. Although I don't think she's handling it the right way, what was it that she was even given to be emotionally and mentally equipped enough to handle something like a jump from normal life to international fame. It's stubborness, it's individuality, it's stickin' it to the man. But I think she needs to go through some serious growth and maturing to be able to handle all of this the correct way. And while you are right that male celebrities especially rappers get away with a lot of messed up things and at times even worse, it doesn’t excuse what Doja Cat has done. Also you have to take into consideration that in the hip hop genre, the target audience is people (mostly male audience) that don’t really give af about the controversies of the rapper they follow. Meanwhile Doja Cat is more categorized under the pop genre (also more mainstream) and has predominantly female fans that actually look up to her as a person and her work. A hip hop artist can get away with a lot more than a pop artist will ever get away with regardless of their gender. And yes it’s unfair. And regarding Doja Cat, its more than the men she has dated. It involves her history and her attitude towards her fans. Part of the reason why people are taking who she is dating seriously, is because of the “chat room” incident that happened a few years ago. No offense but if a white pop female artist was caught in a racist chat room regardless if she was doing it for jokes, she would’ve been immediately cancelled. The other part is her constant disrespect towards her other own fans in which there were multiple occasions. And while I do understand the general sense that “celebrities are still humans”, if a white female pop artist did what Doja Cat did regarding the race thing and then get involved with someone that has a history of racism, she would’ve been cancelled immediately, so why would Doja Cat be the exception?

Doja Cat is a very interesting case of too famous too sudden. She blew up during the pandemic, but before then she was just a normal artist. Me personally, i think fame and the industry isn't something she has fully learned to navigate to this day. I don't know for sure, but she seems less happy now than before and its showing.

So, this is just my opinion.. I think Doja is going through a long-winded phase. She has dropped subtle and not-so-subtle hints that she is starting to crack under the weight of the spotlight. She doesn't want everyone in her business, she doesn't want people to be thinking they're controlling her life or decisions (good or bad), she is suffering with internal struggles about what it is to be so insanely famous out of seemingly nowhere. She's grasping at straws trying to keep her own identity, untainted by the wants and expectations of others
I feel like she's lashing out against the people, maybe even going through some sort of mania to cope with the newfound success/pressure. She wants to make it so very clear that she is here to give you music, not a personality tailored to society's expectations. Although I don't think she's handling it the right way, what was it that she was even given to be emotionally and mentally equipped enough to handle something like a jump from normal life to international fame.
It's stubborness, it's individuality, it's stickin' it to the man. But I think she needs to go through some serious growth and maturing to be able to handle all of this the correct way. More importantly, in a healthy and respectful way.

Lorry has ALWAYS been respectful when stating her opinions or speculations about whether or not the celebrities’ plastic surgery procedures she mentions have occurred. Doja (and some of her fans) viciously disrespected Lorry. Doja could have stated her opinion about the Lorry video in a more professional and firm way without attacking Lorry. THEN Doja had her birthday party, shows her “chest” in photos which resulted in public opinions about the size of her “chest”. Doja goes and has chest surgery and lipo done. No problem, do whatever you want with your body. Doja is extremely insecure and mean spirited. She says crazy negative things but then she smirks/gaslights and backpedals her behavior. She is probably burnout and needs to step back to reevaluate her life/career. One day Doja will learn the hard way to not bite the hands of the fans that feed her and pay her mortgage. Doja doesn’t owe her fans “love” or access to her personal life but constantly lashing out at her fans who pay money to her is disrespectful. Bad business. Bad PR. But then she wants fans to buy expensive concert tickets, albums and merchandise.

Exactly how i felt too! Her music and personality always boosted my confidence she genuinely inspired me to not fear being myself or try new things, be too much & a lil goofy but after all of this happening i sadly now have to separate her from her work in order to keep enjoying it. Her songs won’t be quite the same.
I think we should all give Doja what she wants. If she's sick of the attention and fame then we should stop giving that to her, stop streaming the music, stop following her socials, and all of that. Since she's not forcing us to support her, why should we continue? I do think her biggest struggle is with fame, the idea that artists and celebrities have to pander to the audience…i do find celebrity culture weird but it is the culture and understanding that you are in the position u r in because of the mass , sometimes u gotta just bite the bullet. Extremely creative and innovative, conceptual, influential in fashion, but also dealing with mental health problems, self-destructive, sh*tposting and having very controversial opinions.
