This video was so helpful: clear, concise, and informative. I don’t know why the Instant Pot manufacturer didn’t produce a video like this. Their “How to Use” video is more of a commercial than an instructional video.
@Marco Kashton Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
It seems some people don't see the benefit but I like being able to cook by whatever method in one appliance. It saves me so much cleanup - stove top, baking sheet in the oven, etc. Plus in the summer here in Arizona it really helps tremendously in keeping the kitchen cool. I look forward to seeing you experiment so we can all learn with you. Thanks for another good video.
A few months ago I bought the Instant Pot that Costco sells. Using it more than my stove. I have a Mealthy Air Fryer and it does a pretty good job too. Then last month I bought a Tenergy Infrared Grill that I sit on top of my Induction glass cooktop directly under my range hood. Between the Instant Pot and the Tenergy I seldom use my stove and pots and pans. I also have an Anova Sous Vide immersion circulator but I'm finding I am using it less these days. We eat Keto at my house so its mostly meats and vegetables. I told my wife I wish I had bought the Instant Pot and an Infrared Grill long ago. The Duo Crisp would be more convenient than the Mealthy and the new design of the Instant Pot lid is pretty smart move.
You might consider pulling off the silverskin from the underside of the next rack of ribs before seasoning. Also, I've seen racks cut in half and tented against each other to cook in the air fryer basket. That should work nicely for you. 🙂
If you would see your book you would notice that the one with the two finger holes is for dehydrating. You do not need to use that for the simple air frying. Just the air frying basket is a must.
Really good video. Love this product because it really is a one stop station, no mess, no extra cleaning of conventional oven. And it feels is energy efficient. Thank you
I’ve had the Instant Pot since Christmas. Everything from wings(4 times) pot roast, pork tenderloin, boiled eggs, have turned out perfect. Exceeded my expectations expectations, and my family. When I showed my wife the “crisper lid” and then the cost, I got the usual- “You have a birthday coming up at the end of August.” That’s not a “no”, but to be on the safe side I’ll continue you to follow along and forward your... instant pot duality. (I’ll throw my in occasionally, “Oh. I can’t make that, I don’t have the crisper lid... Bummer...)
You explained every thing very well. Just discovered your videos today - 10/25/2020. Have my Duo for about a week. Told DH that I plan on using it every day for a month to test it out. After watching you take off the little pressure release thingies I not afraid to pull on them. Have not taken them off yet for cleaning because I was afraid of damaging them. Now I am subscribing to your channel! Thank you for your videos.
Thanks for the demo. After watching your crisp lid reviews I asked Santa for a crisp lid and he brought me one I did not want another countertop appliance when I could just get something that attaches to my instant pot counter space is very limited in my teny tiny kitchen
I don't even use the instapot airfryer basket anymore; the plastic feet smells when airfrying, and the basket eventually stains with oil which is impossible to get all of it off. I found just cooking straight in the Instapot works even better than using the basket. It seems to cook better, and it's way easier to clean the instapot than the basket. Stuff sticks way less on the Instapot than the basket when washing.
Got my IP do a crisp went Target had them on sale. Thanks for the heads up. Have pepper roasted a whole chicken, are fried chicken legs and ribs baked a cherry pie..

Your explanation was of great help to me. I decided to buy it after hearing your explanation. I'm going to challenge myself. I subscribed to your channel. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Your video is so clear and thorough. I was not clear at all about the pressure release steps from the "Getting Started" manual that came with the pot.
Loved this video! We are so excited to receive our instant pot duo crisp in 2 weeks! I love that i'll be able to cook by any method in one single appliance. Making large meals with sides and a dessert usually takes 2 loads in the dishwasher and so much time. I'm so excited to make this process easier! I've found quite a few recipes on YT for the crisp lid so far 🙂
I wasn't clear either on the value of the air fryer but since purchasing, I'm absolutely in love with it. I use it nearly every meal for roasting the veges or potatoes: I do the prep, line the basket with parchment paper, toss in the veges, set the timer and get a perfectly done side dish every time, even if it has to sit for a bit until whatever else being made is ready to serve.
I found a much easier way of removing the top metal rack of the air fryer is by using a set of pliers in the two large center holes. Works like a charm with no tipping of the rack.
Thanks for the great review. Ribs look delicious! Not sold on the whole air fryer lid thing. Seems so much easier to throw them under the broiler for a few minutes like I do now. without having to go through all these extra steps and extra things to clean.
When using Airfry lid You could have put the full cooking time in.. Instead of 8.. Put 16 minutes then turn food.. As the pot does alarm to turn food... Much easier to also learn how long it takes to cook as you can lift the lid at anytime to check if it's done to your liking.
The top metal "rack" is clumsy when taking out to turn what's cooking on the bottom. I have tried some tools of sorts to lift it out when it's time to turn the items cooking, fingers aren't an option as the top rack gets hot. What do you recommend to use to remove that top metal rack (chrome with holes) . Bad design IMHO. Thank you
I just used my duo. Worked fine. I wanted to heat up a stuffed green pepper with extra rice and meat in an extra smaller pot I put on a trivet. I didn’t know if I needed to add water. So I did and set it on steam. I don’t know when to add water. I know steam needs water and pressure cook too. Not sure about other settings.
Thanks for a great review. So have subscribed 👍 Am new to the IP world, but this model appears to offer everything I would need. So am looking forward to you testing out the ‘sous-vide’ and ‘dehydrate’ functions in the near future - no pressure...
Great review, thank you! I got one recently and mostly love it. Only two complaints: as your review showed, the second-level tray of the air fryer basket is terribly designed. The trick is to lift the right edge with a fork, then use tongs to push the left side down, then grab the right side to pull up. Grrr. The other issue is that the "non-stick" basket is more like glue. Food literally melds to it. It is harder to clean than anything else I own. Soaking, dishwasher, even pure sodium percarbonate (active ingredient in Oxiclean) don't make a dent. Maybe mine is just defective and didn't get the teflon coating. Anyone else have this problem?
Same here. The tray sucks, the basket gets food glued to it, and the area of usage is very small. I cannot imagine cooking the whole chicken in the air fryer basket. Maybe in instapot basket instead? But then the chicken will be far away from the frying lid.
Thank you so much for tip to look for Ninji foodie recipes. Extremely disappointed with Instant Pot for not including something. Been searching every where online for help as burnt things trying to figure out temp and time to use for air fryer on my own with no recipes.

@@IndigoNili yay thank you. Beginner here, trying to learn which is best fits my family needs😁 will be first instant ever🙏
needle nose pliers to lift steam plate.
Does it smells plastic when cooking?
The first couple of times I used it there was a smell but it dissipated after that
I have tried instapot 3 times now and I still think it makes the food mushy. I will never try it again.
It's all in the timing. You can always go longer if it's under cooked. It won't work the other way.
I threw the condenser out! Help!?
Many people use their pots without a condensation collector. Just wipe the back of the pot if you notice any water dripping down.
Have found you tube Scott Cooks a big help even though he uses the Ninja and I the IP

don't submerge the fryer lid in water
Very informative, however the presenter seemed bored
Oh boy, the looks of the airfryer lid just turned me off. So ugly. I ll stick w a duo and a typical airfryer, "double the space" be damn!
Never was interested in this I’ll continue doing ribs the method I use fit decades. Love my IPs this not so much.
it's not a fryer...it's just a mini convection oven
It's an air fryer which is it's own thing. Very similar to a convention oven, yes.
This video is way too long for the info provided :-(
I'm personally offended at the way you cooked those ribs
No yogurt button? I need my yogurt button!
pesto12601 I see you have never made yogurt in an instant pot. The yogurt button is one of the few that you actually need to perform the stated function. How would you go about making yogurt without it? I’ll be waiting for your step-by-step instructions. LOL 😐
@@Karen-se5jw I like to make yogurt in my IP too. Tastes so good. I do want to get a strainer though.
A strainer will make your already yummy yogurt thicker and creamier...so good!
Does the airfry lid get really dirty or? Nice video btw!
