    Thank you so much! I have always had a quick pot, and I just received my new instant pot. I struggled for about 30 minutes trying to get the lid off after I completed the test cook of water. I found you guys on TH-cam and am very thankful and now have subscribed. I need all the tips I can get on how to use the duo Pressure cooker/air fryer. I have to convince my husband that the air fryer is just as good as the massive one, we have taking up counter space in our kitchen. Lol! Thank you so much and keep it coming!

    Very helpful. Just bought this as my first pressure cooker. Had no idea I needed to remove those valves to clean! The paper manual is very sketchy. I too was confused about single setting and few recipes allude to this model. I have been experimenting mostly having success. Subscribed!! I received my Ultimate yesterday, test run this morning and I am SO impressed. I've had 2 6 quart Instant Pots ... first purchase in 2016 and 2nd in 2020. This will sound goofy, but a "cozy mystery" series that I read ... the author adds a lot of cooking info and she referred to a multi-function cooker which allowed a switch to AirFryer! That lead me to internet search and this InstantPot. She might have been using a Ninja, but as I have been so happy with my InstantPots, I bought this one.
    One of the things she somewhat glossed over, but it was what intrigued me, was the ability to add frozen sausage, cut potato ... pressure cook then air fry. There was not enough specific info so I am going to experiment. I'm also going to search your recipes!
    At any rate, I think it is a beautiful unit. Much of the functionality I understand from my almost 6 years IPot experience, but Sous Vide, and some of the Air Fryer functionality is new to me.
    Thanks for this video! Even though I already purchased, it was helpful to see your experience.

      So, 2 weeks and a bit of experience. I have watched a lot of youTube on DuoCrisp, ProCrisp and NinjaFoodi (pc/steam/air fryer models) plus used the Ultimate at least once a day. I am very much liking the ability to PC-steam-airfry in one unit and have a pretty good feel for timing based on my IP Pressure cooking notes as well as new info from experimenting. I continue to like the Ultimate: looks good on my counter (I did NOT keep my IP on the counter :) ), easy to clean, easy to use and great meals without adding heat (VERY minimal vs stovetop/oven). Caveat ... I am a 1 human household so I have been able to do a number of meat/veg combinations. I think that would be more challenging if cooking for a family and think that maybe the 8 quart 2 lid IP or Ninja foodi might work better for more than 2 people ... unless you are ok with batches...

      @Liz Summers: The Road Home I haven't found many videos on use of ultimate. Is there a conversion for recipes for the ultimate lid... lack of air fryer recipes on app. Can duo crisp lid recipes work exactly same? Unimpressed by the small surface area that came with the IP ultimate, air fryer rack. No air fryer basket like I've seen in the other model.. feel like that should have been included.

    Stuck on preheating and would not build pressure. The seal around the steam release had to be pushed down for suction when installing the pressure cooker cover into the lid. I'm guessing they made the gaskets non removable because everything seems to need to be lined up just right with the removable lid cover.

    Hi, ladies! This was great! It was a longer video than I was looking for, but very helpful. I will certainly save it for future reference. The directions that come with it are very minimal. I have a few questions about accessories. Do you know if there the magnet cheats are available for this model, or everything exactly the same as it is on the magnets for the other models? When it gives you the time for cooking, that does not count the pre-heating time, correct, even though the food is heating and cooking while the pressure rises? Finally, are there accessories (like the pot in pot) that are available for this model? I had for I had just received some accessories for my previous model before it stopped working correctly. Now I am concerned that not all the accessories I wanted (and/or have) will be compatible with the different sized pot (particularly when it comes to layering. I could not find any specific accessories that said for 6.5 qt models (except for the Ninja Foodi). So much to take in and so much to learn! One thing at a time, right?

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it was helpful! The cook times should be the same as other models. The cook time does not include the pre-heat (time it takes to come to pressure) time. Most accessories should work - as long as they fit in the pot without interfering with the lid closing. Have fun!

I noticed on other features you clean the parts - like the seal and the anti-block seal. • @PressureCookingToday

      You can't remove the gasket (seal) from the pressure cooking lid. Hand wash it with hot water and mild dish soap or wash in dishwasher, top rack. The anti-block seal should be removable, but they fit tighter at first so I slide a thin knife underneath and it pops up.

    First, thank you for the awesome review and walk through. Much I did not know about this unit. This is my second Instant Pot, but only the first with the Ultimate Lid. Can you help? Seems the lid sometimes spews steam non-stop similar to the venting stage till everything is dried out :( *Any ideas how to make it stop spewing as if it has reached venting stage though it has not?* I destroyed a pair of small roasts cooked simultaneously. Little moisture remaining. Was like saw dust in my mouth. And the broth in the bottom of IP burned to gunk despite also having added numerous vegetables along with the roasts on the rack. During cooking phase steam never stopped being expelled through the top vent. *Any ideas what to check or adjust to make the IP stop expelling lots of steam non-stop?* Thx

      I think I found my answer. The little black plastic hook at the base of the metal pressure cooking lid cover broke off. Not sure if I broke it or someone else broke it [always someone else :p ]. The lid is out of alignment without the hook in place. Anyhow I epoxy glued the hook back on about three hours ago. Am waiting 24 hours to see if the small amount of epoxy I used is enough for the hook to stay in place forever. (fingers crossed)

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  ปีที่แล้ว

      When making chili, you need to use enough thin liquid for the pressure cooker to come to pressure. So when you're just getting started, it's best to use a pressure cooker chili recipe and then when you're familiar with pressure cooking, you can start adapting your own recipes. I'm torn between the two since the foodi has the steam and bake and steam and airfry features. Not sure if you can get the same results with the unlimite lid by cooking and then frying.

    I have tried using this Instant Pot a few times now and it seems to have troubles “sealing”. I end up getting a “C7” notification and it has burnt despite that I did deglaze before starting the pressure cooking and followed the recipe directions for liquid.
    With no knob to turn the seal closed, I debated attempting to cover the vent with a spoon until it preheats & seals. Good idea?
    Any advice?

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no!!!! I've been away for the last few days. I hope you've worked through it by now, but just in case, here are our thoughts:
      It's really tricky to get it to release because there's no outside access to the float valve.
      My guess is that perhaps some food has gotten stuck up on the lid and is interfering with the lid opening. First, I'd try to push the unlock slider over to the arrow as hard as you can with one hand and then lift up the lid with the other hand. It has to go past that unlock stage. Next, once everything has cooled off (which it absolutely should be by now--all the pressure should have released naturally), I'd lift the whole pot off the counter a little bit and rap it on the countertop a few times. Hopefully shifting the content inside.
      If that doesn't work, I would absolutely reach out to Instant Pot's warranty department. The lid absolutely shouldn't have locked in place without any way to open it. They've been really great to work with for us in the past when we had a busted lid. www.instanthome.com/support/contact-instant

    Can see a few flaws with this design but I know that manufacturers have to make some allowances when trying to create a one lid model. Needing two different pressure cook parts, one for sweet, one for savoury et, the fact your arm is exposed to steam when lifting the lid, inability to steam clean the air fryer elements etc. Would you say it was quieter than the one lid 14 in 1 (15 in the UK) ninja model on air fryer mode? Hi, thanks for all the info! One question: are we certain that it's safe to cook things such as rice or pasta in this model? The documentation that came with it says not to cook things that may foam, such as rice or pasta. Maybe oatmeal, too? I hope that I misunderstood, as I had expected to be able to cook those things. This is my first Instant Pot brand appliance, so there's going to be a learning curve, I'm sure.

      That warning is on all models. The warning makes no sense since Instant Pot has recipes for those items on their site. Just be sure when cooking things that foam that you follow instructions from trusted recipes, and never fill your pot more than half full with things that foam.

      So, we cooked mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving in our Ultimate Lid IP, and when the pressure released, it spat potatoes all over the table and blinds. I see from your video that we should have changed the pressure to natural. (I am not sure what my husband had it on). However, now I am concerned that I need to do some deeper cleaning on it. What should I look for and how do I clean it?

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  ปีที่แล้ว

      With potatoes you'll overcook them with a natural release. Don't fill your pot more than 2/3's full / half full with things that foam (potatoes can foam, so add some oil to the water to help keep that to a minimum.) Then if you have anything but steam coming out of the steam release valve, you'll want to do an intermittent release. Open and close ever 30 seconds or so - more information in this post www.pressurecookingtoday.com/quick-pressure-release-or-natural-pressure-release/

      It gets easier over time as your Instant Pot gets broken in. Especially with the newer models. I like to start at the same spot for removal. I also think it's easier to remove when it's warm (not hot) than when it's completely cooled.
