    Go to 9:55 the next time someone tells you that calories impact weight gain more than hormones.

      Very true, could we get glucagon hormone shots on our waist please?

      absolutely, but that "someone" should have at least a minimum of scientific knowledge....not everybody owns that basic scientific culture to watch these kind of videos.

    18:53 Don't fear overdoing it on protein. Eat protein--not fat--to satiety.

    Interesting about the not adding too much fat and eating protein to satiety. Correlates to what Dr. Ted Naiman tends to tweet and the not fearing increased protein intake with what Dr. Ben Bikman lectured about at Low Carb Breck '18.

    I'm a 75 yr old lady and I have numerous smallish lipomas all over my body and one of my friends has just few but his are as large as are the gentleman's in the video, who is exhibiting injection-caused lipohypertrophe.
    Neither of us are on injections.
    Any suggestions as to how to get rid of these unsightly fatty deposits ?? I'm trying LCHF and I'm now really comfortable on two LC meals a day and I've lost weight, but Robert's recommendation re satiate with veges and protein sounds really good as I think I've been over doing the fat - thanx, Robert !!!! It makes sense that if one is eating lots of fat the body doesn't need to use stored bodily fat for energy !!!
    If I keep on LCHF and the intermittent fasting, will the numerous unsightly lipomas disappear ??
    My friend with the three really large lipomas poopoohs LCHF :((

    Thanks all, we are on it .. "Food is Chemical Information" for the body - Each molecule of food has the potential to be a building block, an antagonist, and directly interact with DNA, mitochondrial RNA, and all metabolic pathways." ... The question - “Is It Disease Care or Health Care?” -

    So many great points here. Do you really need to worry about ketones if you are eating low carb and lots of protein? I'm losing weight but it's slow and found out I'm not in ketosis.

      Vicki Packham protein is triggering insulin (twice less as carbs butt still): insulin is needed to let amino acid into the cells and to convert excess protein into glucose.
      The needs for protein in a day only are .3 to .7g per kg of your lean body mass (little more of you body builder). Protein is about 30% of a piece of lean meat of beef.

      Same thing happening with me, when I drop my protein and add fat I stall, so will up my protein was glad to hear that....I’m only in ketosis if I fast for long periods of time

    I had to diagnose myself with the help of TH-cam. The advise was free and saves me more than a $100.00 a month on medical costs. My doctors were oblivious to Metabolic Ketosis Adaptation. If doctors put their patients into Ketosis they would go bankrupt along with the pharmaceutical industry.

    Surprising news that High fat could continue your insulin resistance

    • @monicaambs
      @monicaambs 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because if your not loosing weight due to eating too much fat your insulin resistance persists. I tell my people that you need to get your body to burn the fat off your ass and in order to do that you need to keep the carbs low, eat a fatty food (salmon) and when the weight comes down you can increase the fat a little. Its called a HFLC diet but it should be called Fatty Protein Low Carb. When you eat the fatty protein it causes satiation.

    Fructose causes insulin resistance?? Not true... its the combination of fat and fructose/sugar that causes insulin resistance.... google " Randle Cycle"

    • @jxordo75
      @jxordo75 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan Perlman actually, when metabolized, in the liver, fructose is blocking the insulin sensitivity of the liver.
      Regarding the insulin resistance of your cells, the research is still trying to verify hypothesis.
      The one I favor is that when processing glucose your mitochondrial system is producing a lot of free radicals (ROCs) and these are oxidizing the cell walls (amongst other things like DNA), specifically the omega 3 and 6 in the membrane. That would lead to insulin resistance to limit the entrance of more glucose in that wounded cell.

      Doesn't seen to always be the case, just look at athletes who became diabetic, they avoided fats and would eat over 300 grams of carbs.
