- Dave Bassett's Forest Story is now available to watch on TH-cam.
Throughout the 150th anniversary 2015-16 season, Forest Player HD brought subscribers a series of documentaries focussing on key figures from the club’s past.
Each film will become free to view on NFFCTube this month.
Thank you Dave ''Harry'' Bassett. A memorable season will always stick with me.
Dave Bassett and Kevin Keegan always struck me as the most direct talking and honest managers when interviewed.
I'm not a Forest fan but these Forest Story interviews are great videos
pavedoh likewise there spot and there not my club
im a 53 yrs old red......you reds.. best club in the world. hucknall reds
Not a forest fan ? Shame on you !
Same I'm Ram, so its a case of what might have been! All the lads were local; a touch of holy water; a sprinkle of genius; boom world class player.
I love these interviews. It's a great window to the hard working glory days of these athletes, and I'm allways eager to listen to more Clough stories.
The only down part is the eerie, sad music... I get the nostalgia thing, but after a couple of videos, it's like a funeral song going on and on.
Besides that, these are amazing, thanks for sharing. Godbless.
Did a decent job at Forest - respect ✊
Not a forest fan but enjoying these programmes as the team had some unforgettable players and managers during the 90s. Always like dave basset, was he hard done by the owners, nowt knew there at forest. That van Hooijdonk seems like newcastle jack colback
All roads of destruction lead to Irving Scholar. Well done DB getting facts on yhe table. Respect from Forest fans
Very underrated manager
I can't wait for My Forest Story: Pierre van Hooijdonk
Nottingham was a sh*t hole back then. You can’t blame the lad. Thank goodness the city has changed and is a wonderful place to live today.

You having a laugh?
It's more bad then ever and so sad to see.
The real Nottingham was full of fun with a passion.....now you got 13k students full of a level thick as fk almost getting killed everyday because they can't cross a road.....having a simple thing like a cig in the centre with a crowd round coming to a fight because you won't give them one, druggies on every shop corner scratching the streets like rats watching your every move.....and out of all of it they have ruined the nightlife to make the policing more easy when they do next to fk all.
RIP Nottingham
Can't blame the lad for betraying Dave Bassett and all his team-mates and behaving like a total twat? Bloody hell!!
@silver steel what has changed exactly would like to know
Irving Scholar was most at fault, but Van Hooijdonk should never have gone on strike from Forest! He was totally selfish, full of himself, and didn't give a shit about the consequences of his actions. His behaviour was like that of a school boy, and he wasn't man enough to simply admit to Dave Bassett that he wanted to leave / move to another club and then agree to a transfer fee and sign the necessary documents. Truly pathetic!
Irving Scholar.... Did more damage than anyone to our beloved team
He got us up....that's good enough he did his job and is very much respected
That was a great season.
I blame Scholar and the rest of the board. Undermining Bassett while he was on holiday. The fact the board told Bassett he would have eight million to spend and then a short while later informing him they needed to raise two and a half! And Bassett blames Pierre!? Pah.
Yes, Philip Siar was a tosser too.
Here here 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Dave's only 71, lets have him back. He did it before, he could do it again and there is no Van Hooijdonk this time. His goals were good but the attitude stunk.
Bring back Harry!!!!
only 71? its old enough.
You now have best manager since Clough. He'll probably win the league. You can't force success, but it's a new generation.
that summer in 1998 ruined everything
What happens when businessmen get involved in the running of football matters.
I think Mr Bassett did very well not to punch Van the man. Perhaps he should have done!
Shame. Did a great job at SUFC. Possibly our best Manager in living memory
Great lad
Irving Scholar.
Bellend
A pertinent reminder that directors should stay out of the footballing side of things. I hope Fawaz takes heed.
Harry looking like more like hes developing Howard Kendallitis here. Harry another Blades legend to go with Warnock....hopefully Wilder can join the elite Blades Managers class .
Not very professional of Van H but I had sympathy with him. Forest were run by the asset stripper Irving Scholar and selling Campbell to turn a few quid was ridiculous.
Check out the Kev Campbell Cloughie story on Under the Cosh. If your not laffing your dead!!
If I was Stuart I would be pissed off beyond any reasonable means if I had to help my “replacement” get to know the club.
well he's aged like a fine milk
proper gaffa;..you reds
This is EXACTLY why I am a late convert to this excellent series behind-the-scenes.
Scholar promises 8 Million then switches to having to raise 2.5 Million AFTER promotion? Then this most Profesional and efficient Guy suddenly can't get Campbell's papers ready each day? Unthinkable. So Kevin goes. Pierre sees no ambition and it's downhill from there and Harry who got them up gets sacked because obviously with no strikers they are going to sink in THe Premiership...
Blades legend ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Do you think Dave blames Van Hooijdonk for his problems at Forest? LOL
May we have subtitles for when the Cockney chap speaks please? Thanks awfully.
You’re kidding right?
I dont think
Pierre van Hooijdonk is on Dave Bassets Christmas card list.
Kinda bonkers how he hammers PVH but sidesteps laying into Scholar. PVH was obviously an unprofessional tool, but his was a poor (but understandable) response to what was imposed on him.
Scholar was in charge, deceived the players and manager, and was ultimately responsible for the whole sorry mess.
PVH would be worth 50m today at least
Do forest still football? 😆🙄😆
Signed Beasant and Shipperley and expected to stay in the PL - no chance!
Obvious the money situation dictated those and other signings...
@@Discoretrox It's not obvious. Bassett rated both players!
What happened Marco pascolo
I think Forest were doomed for relegation anyway with the signings that were made and the players that were let go ok Van Hooijdonk made things even worse but he wanted to leave anyway and if Forest had of let him go to say Newcastle/Leeds or back to Holland who would of been a good enough replacement for the prem??????
dave wears skin tight jeans..... maybe a problem
Ageist. Much.
You will there one day paul....:)
Only David Platt has done more damage to NFFC than PVH.
Irving Scholar, without a doubt
