Artist Chat with Jan Heres

Jan Heres’s work shows a combination of the aesthetics of Indonesian art, the cultural and ethnic diversity of the American continent, an echo of popular culture, and the world of drag and drag queens. Wild colour combinations, geometrical flatness, and painterly or airbrushing structures, lead our attention to socio-political themes associated with corporality, queer bodies, gender identity and visual transformations.
