  • I am spending a year living on nothing but cruise ships as a solo cruiser. For the last 21 days I have lived on Sky Princess. In this video, we will break down how much it cost to live on a cruise ship for a solo cruiser.

    I was on the Princess Ruby from January 15 to February 12 for a total of 28 days. I originally did a back to back, but when I was on board, they offered a single solo offer of 50% off. So I added two more weeks to my cruise. I paid less for a balcony and I did for the original interiors and I had a great time.

    You always compliment the amount of storage Princess cabins have but you are a travel minimalist and never have stuff to fill all the empty cabinets, closets and shelves. LOL. Kudos on being a minimalist! I don't have that level of restraint, but I wish I did. I have that famous decluttering book by Marie Kondo collecting dust in a pile of other unread books. Must be nice to have all that empty space and no junk cluttering it all up. :)

    • @30AndAWakeUp
      @30AndAWakeUp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, even though I don’t travel with much, I have been on many cruise lines where I dont have enough room for my stuff. Some are stingy with the closet space….which is why I like Princess’ massive closet even if I dont use it! :)

      99 cruises, totaling 4.5 years at sea. Many bank to back. You don’t have to get off. You might be changing cabins (not the most fun thing to do) but your not included in the zero count.

    • @spektral79
      @spektral79 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      On Disney Cruise Lines, if you’re able to keep your cabin you will need to debark and go through the embark process again (with first on board priority and a separate waiting area). If your cabin does change, the room attendants will move your luggage for you!

    Great video, my sister and I very recently completed a 14 day Princess Cruise across the ditch to New Zealand from Melbourne. We are both Platinum, last cruise we did we received so many bonuses, cabin credit, free bottle of wine, invitation to Captain's cocktail party, 50% of internet (which we did not take), and free dining in a charge restaurant, pen and paper in the room, towels made into amazing animals. This cruise we got 50% off internet (which we did use this time) and an invite to the Captains cocktail party (which we did not go to because we knew there was Covid on board so we weren't mixing where people were not using masks (we are aged 73 and 75). There were no other benefits offered. Great cruise, beautiful food, terrific crew, but I guess the cruise line has to cut benefits to make up for the long period of no cruises. Best wishes Beth

    Hi Master Chief. I just found and subscribed to your channel. Have you mentioned the meaning of "30 And A Wake Up" in past videos? I did a quick search of your earliest videos and could not find anything. As a fellow Navy retiree, I thought others might be interested. During Vietnam, most of us were assigned for a specific time period, usually one year or exactly 365 days. Almost from the day we arrived, we started to count our remaining time in country by the days remaining plus "a wake up" which was the day we were scheduled to fly home. So if you asked anyone (short timers particularly) how much longer they had left, they would always answer so many days plus a wake up. It has often been said that we were not in Vietnam for 20 years but one year twenty times. I am enjoying your videos.

    • @30AndAWakeUp
      @30AndAWakeUp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! When we deployed, we always had a countdown until or return home. When I first started traveling I would live in a country for 30 days before waking up in the new one. Thanks for your service by the way.

    Great ℹ️… I wonder if you can bring your own creamer on board. Or I wonder if they have any sort of hazelnut creamer on board any of the ships 🛳️? I haven’t been on a cruise in years. I’ve also had a cruise fund since I divorced. lol with raising children and such the cruise fund jar has been lacking lol. I’ve always contemplated a tiny home…although, living on a cruise ship the rest of my life sounds great. The logistics seem easy to navigate. Do they have sweet tea? Haha 😂 I don’t understand non sweet tea drinkers! I’m from the south soooo…. If they had sweet tea then I wouldn’t even need a drinks package. Inside cabins look amazing. I did 4 weeks of cruises this winter on the Costa Toscana for the amount of 1700$ with taxes and gratuities included, and in April I will do 2 repositioning cruises from Santos Brazil until Copenhagen Danmark for a total of 35 days on the Costa Firenze, it will also cost me around 1700$ for the 35 days.
