I appreciated seeing your process of layout on the page. I have had a lifelong dream of creating a graphic novel, and now I have the tools to do so. I have written a number of novels, but the process of actually laying the images out on the page is the wall that I'm trying to get through right now. Your speeded up layouts at least give me an idea of what to do and how to do it. Thank you for the video.

Hey Tarl! You can do it, for sure...and you 100% should make a graphic novel. I don't believe we are 100% there yet with something like a graphic novel, character and setting consistency over 180 pages would still be a challenge, not an insurmountable challenge, maybe not a challenge at all, more of a constraint, you'd have to let go of some of the scene, angle and action ideas you have in your head and work with what you can get ai to generate. The good news is the story is the hardest part and that part you can 100% do today, and things are improving so quickly with ai that the constraints of long form comics with Ai will gradually go away, probably soon :) Still it is possible today and once you know the story and the panels, even if the art is not what you want, its way easier to replace or edit art on an existing page later then it is to make a page from scratch, so even generating ai art for known panels with plans to update those panels when ai catches up to your vision, thats still a very good and advisable place to start.

Wow! That was amazing! It's interesting that the prompts for MJ and SD are "Imagine" and "Dream". These tools are speeding up the process and allowing people to do just that, as you said, "to realize long held visions of worlds, jokes and stories."
To your last point, I feel this TOTALLY is your story. While you had suggestions, as you said, you directed the attention. You added and subtracted away from the vision you wanted to create and you took the action (actually doing it, then even recording this video) to make the story's expression happen.
It's kind of like life, right? We are given a few basic elements of this shared 'reality', and it's up to us use our perspective and make a story of it.
Again, thank you for pulling the curtain back on your thought process.

Marcus! Whats up? Hope you are well and full of good words, I've never known you not to be :) Double negatives aside, I really appreciate the comment and insights on story and life, always good to read and reflect. It was such a challenge doing that 6 pager knowing the screen capture was running the whole time. Put me in an odd creative space of speed over story but, it was also really fun. Thanks for saying hi.

This is So excellent. I still hope you consider doing a full blown class on AI and Visual Story telling on Udemy or Skillshare where all these concepts are all put together.. this is the part I get stuck on. turning my script into comic worthy panels , art and dialogue.. the secret sauce of comics.

Hi Montana. I recorded a skill share class, or at least 8 videos for one...and when I was done editing it, 60% of it was out of date, or the workflow had improved. I am all about making ground up training, I just want it to be helpful and practical and current. Ai art is moving so quick right now, its not uncommon for a tip to be irrelevant in a few weeks. Still, there are a lot of principals of panel layout, balloon flow, composition and just general getting the idea into a readable and enjoyable format that I think I would really love to teach on and talk about. Can I ask you a question? Assuming that's a yes. What would you think of a very very affordable patreon, that focused on the ground up type training and at a slower pace. Also I was thinking about doing a once a week patreon video of a comic creation start to finish, that wasn't' timelapsed, so it would run about 45 minutes. I personally think 45 minutes of me talking and teaching is 43 minutes too much, but it's something Ive been thinking about and I would sincerely appreciate your thoughts.

@@camppeculiar hey dude! I’m not OP but just found your YT page and a Patreon would be rad. Working on my own comic atm and just absorbing as much info as possible. Cheers and keep up the good work

Thanks for the info and process run through warts and all. Just started following your channel. (Have you seen "once upon a bot"? Writes a very simple children's story with images. It'll write a very simple 4 panels/images off a prompt, nothing to write home about but it does work.)

Hey Robo! Thanks for the comment and for watching. I haven't seen once upon a bot, sounds like it is a generator? Interesting, would love to check it out.

I don’t think it’s a bad thing that AI cant generate an entire comic book and it needs human input to make it humanized for lack of better of word
