I think what makes me the most upset is seeing minority groups attacking each other. I heard from my own grandmother that "they were silent about us blacks, and now they want us to come to the rescue" or "all they do is put their head down and keep walking, they don't defend themselves, this is their fault" which is just disgusting. Hate breeds hate, and you can't talk about wanting equality, and then turn around and talk about "karma" towards a whole race.

@@kchen1987 first off, no one “deserves” hatred or discrimination. the fact is that the same system that puts down black americans also puts down asian americans while also dividing the two at the same time. i agree that we aren’t “attacking each other” but the point is many people don’t understand that it’s the same system that affects all minorities, and it’s the same system pitting us against each other. that’s one of the major points of the video: we aren’t each other’s enemies. from how i read it, @Ranunculus is saying how it is sad that some people don’t understand how minority groups have been divided and are putting each other down. they aren’t saying that asian americans are doing all the things quoted, they’re pointing out the attitudes of those ignorant about this topic. your response of attacking black americans and saying that “asians participated more than black people in the BLM movement” is further dividing us. read closer and stop jumping to hate because that just further contributes to the problem. the last thing in the original comment says how you can’t preach for equality and then use “karma” as justification for the discrimination of others, MEANING that those who put other minorities down while calling for equality are in the wrong. please be kind and think before you jump to rude responses.

Racism is taught behavior. What is sad is that despite so many years of education on racism, racism still exist. It is because the human mindset needs to feel superior to another race. We are all humans that look different and have different ways of living. That is all. If someone is racist to us and we are equally racist to them, it doesn’t solve the problem. Only love and education will. Take away the ignorance that is blinding them in the name of racism.

So unless you go out there and seek this information for yourself you would never know about it. Half of what I know about world history, race and discrimination has come from me watching movies or series, or hearing celebrities mention things (like Ice Cube talking about the LA Riots or George Takei talking about Japanese internment) so then I take the time to research these things. SAME! We get NO Asian history whatsoever in schools in the UK. We get a lot of World War 1&2 history in highschool (don't get me wrong, that is VERY important... but we do not learn about the Korean war, the Vietnam war, the Cold War, we don't learn about modern politics, racism, any American history, and we learn nothing about race and discrimination. Not everyone does this. I wish we were taught about these things in school, I think it would promote empathy, discussion and understanding and help to minimise bullying and misunderstandings.
