Recently while trying to buy Miso Paste on the Sainsbury’s app we came across a review saying they should be prosecuted for selling their Miso paste as miso paste 😂 We thought it was so funny and suffice to say we steered well clear! 😂

@@Nicolas-qs5dn Of course Nicolas, but if 95% of people like a product and don't leave a review, and the 5% of people that don't like it leaves one, it ends up being misleading.

There’s actually a statistical bias with reviews and surveys because typically people who take the effort to leave a review do so because they have a grievance to air. So they aren’t always an accurate representation of a company.

The trick with supermarket scones is to split them and pop them in the toaster for just long enough to warm them before adding butter and jam.

Old sayings are 'There is no pleasing everyone' and 'One man's meat is another man's Poison'. I've eaten many low-rated supermarket foods before and found them perfectly OK! M&S Scones is a perfect example. If someone is trying to palm them off as homemade - nope, it wouldn't work, eat them at home with the family, with clotted cream and jam and they are delicious. Best rated would be a good one Grace...

I got those Cadbury pudding/cakes from Cost Plus World Market, this past Christmas. I was SO excited to try this special treat and share with my family. I popped that sucker out and looked at it. 🤨 Then I tasted it. Oh no!!! So disappointing! Bland, bland, bland. I was so sad. My family was like, "how bad could it be"? Nope! It was a no for everyone. Just terrible. Such high expectations, dashed. 😭😭😭

I think most supermarkets let people leave online product reviews now, so you could definitely make this into a series.
As well as highest and lowest rated products you could also pick various categories, e.g. chocolate digestives, and then taste a good (4-5 stars), a bad (1-2 stars) and an average (around 3 stars) one from each category to see if you agree with the ratings.
It could also be fun to see if different supermarkets rank the same branded products the same or differently, e.g. those Cadbury puds you tried, and which supermarket's customers give the most accurate reviews.

Oh ,i have to say it.There are some really bad chocolate puddings out there! The one thing in Ocado`s favour is ,if you don`t like any item(s) on your shop you just contact them and they refund you right away.
My mum had a really sweet tooth ,and i always cooked for her.I remember one evening she just said that i looked tired and to grab something from the fridge (a ready meal).I think it was a pasta bake ,and after popping it into the microwave and then dishing it up ,the smell was so over powering and it looked rather like a crunchy gruel.Needless to say i binned it and made something i knew my mum would enjoy.
Not everything ready made is bad ,but there are some shockers out there!!.Loving your vlogs @Grackle ,hope you and mini Grackle are continuing to do as well as you look.Xo

I experienced the value of supermarket product reviews recently with Waitrose. I bought the ramen paste in store and there was clearly something wrong with it, it was so bad. Looking at the reviews I wouldn't have bought it if I was shopping online. I do think some products just have quality control issues though so that can explain some really mixed reviews. I tend to not just randomly buy new items any more. I'll do my research.

    • @freyagamlen4344
      @freyagamlen4344 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

@@maggiex312 It depends on the hot chococlate powder - some contain literally cocoa powder and sugar (e.g. Green & Blacks hot chocolate powder), and those always require milk. The ones where you just add water are the ones already containing skimmed milk powder so theoretically you're just re-constituting the powdered milk. Milk contains lactase which is a sugar so adding semi-skimmed milk to something that already contains powdered skimmed milk is just adding extra sugar and fat so yeah, normally tastes better even if you make the water ones with milk! Your mum probably used the OG kind!

“Lord Winchbottom” on Ocado writes the funniest reviews.
I can’t remember them all, but they struck me as hilarious, and I’m sure they reviewed Ocado brand scones and M&S clotted cream - I was shopping for a Mother’s Day tea.
But there’s definitely more from them, and they all give me a giggle.
Edit: I found one - it’s for Haywood & Padgett scones:
    *Too crumbly for this mandem*
Like others have pointed out, these scones are very dry, left bare crumbs all over manz crib
