Ariana DeBose. Oscar nominee and is best known for playing The Bullet in Hamilton. She had an edgier, more unique and easily noticed, short on the sides and back, curly and blond on top hairstyle in that show.
She also played 'Disco Donna' in "Summer: The Donna Summer Musical" (Tony Nom for Best Featured Actress) and got her start in the top 20 on season 6 of SYTYCD.

Ariana DeBose is an amazing singer, dancer, actress, performer, she was the bullet from Hamilton, she was in Schmigadon, and The Prom movie from Netflix. She is great
Yup she's fantastic!! I really hope she gets the Oscar for this role. And I think this film has really started to help kickstart her career in Hollywood. It was recently announced she got cast in Sony's Kraven the Hunter movie, a spy film starring people like Henry Cavill and Samuel L Jackson, and a space thriller called I.S.S.
and Schmigadoon - you like musicals? You should totally check out Schmigadoon. Kristin Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Dove Cameron, amongst other notables are in it. So enjoyable!
I just wanna point out that the woman in the purple dress next to Anita (Arianna DeBose) is the first Panamanian person to be in a big Hollywood picture and we are extremely proud of her. The casting director for this reimagining of West Side Story did an AMAZING job at representing every latino out there!
Ariana DeBose is famously known for being “The Bullet” in Hamilton. She was also in Bring It On: The Musical and The Prom. She was also in Schmigadoon. Singer, Dancer, Actor a real force of nature. She’s also an advocate for LGBTQ+ representation and equality. And Bernardo, he was in Billy Elliot when he was younger.
Sidenote: According to Stephen Spielberg and a bunch of the casting crew in an interview, during the casting of WSS, they were having trouble casting Bernardo after a couple weeks. It's until they recalled the young kids who won tony awards for their roles in Billy Elliot. One of those kids actors is David Alvarez.
Let’s give some love to David Alvarez too as Bernardo! He’s one of the original Billy Elliot’s from the Broadway production!! The man won a Tony when he was like 13 lol
Love David as Bernardo, he and Ariana has such perfect chemistry together. Their lovestory in the film is actually better than the main one..(never understood the Romeo/Juliet story, seems a liiittle crazy)
Fun Fact: Ariana DeBose shot this entire dance number on a badly sprained ankle. It was so bad that when she was injured, everyone thought she had broken her foot
What's even more impressive is that they filmed this scene in over 100 degree heat. Ariana said that she burned holes in her shoes from how hot the asphalt was when she was dancing!
Yes!!! Throw Mike Faist into there too, he was FANTASTIC as Riff. Those three deserved all the awards and I'm so bummed David and Mike haven't gotten as much acknowledgement for how incredible they were!
Some people don't like musicals because of how unrealistic it is to break out into song and to just know the choreography me personally I wish that was real life. Sometimes I wish I could just break out into song and have a whole ensemble of people dancing in the street behind you this is literally my dream. And yeah it's not quote on quote realistic but it's better than reality I think that's the charm of musical theater
Ariana has been around Broadway since Bring It On. She became more known as The Bullet in Hamilton and then went on to get a Tony nomination for her portrayal as one of the Donnas in the Donna Summers musical. She went on to do The Prom and Schmigadoon. She really is an extraordinary triple threat and is always putting in the work for the next phase of her career before it even happens, which I have huge respect for. She sees where she wants her career to go and trains for it. As for the costumes, that is Paul Tazewell’s extraordinary eye for detail. I’m not surprised at all that he added the Capri pants. In my opinion, he is the best costume designer on Broadway. His designs are always brilliant and when the situation calls for it, utterly gorgeous and sumptuous. I’m so glad to see him break into other areas of the industry.
I love that you noticed the capri's. I was in a production of WSS a few years ago and was one of the few girls who got to wear them and it was so amazing to have that variety in the costumes.
I love how all the comments start with Ariana DeBose she is truly wonderful performer This movie came out on my 16th birthday last year and I was NOT DISAPPOINTED💖💖💖

Becuas she was in the ensemble in Hamilton . But she was in three show before that where she sang Pippin Motown , bring it on But then she staring roles with singing after Hamilton like Donna Summer (Tony nomination for featured actress) , A Bronx tale , the Prom , and finally WSS
Justin Peck is the principal choreographer for the New York City ballet. He choreographed this movie. Remember, these scenes were filmed in July, when the pavement is scorching hot. Peck said he’d never seen anything like it. Between the hot pavement and how fast her feet were moving, Ariana DeBose’s shoes MELTED. Peck and the costume department had to keep extra shoes on set just for DeBose. Make that: FUTURE ACADEMY AWARD WINNER: Ariana DeBose!
This is actually the first movie Ariana Debose filmed. She was in The Prom which came out first (after West Side was already in the can). She made a name for herself on Broadway-In “Bring It On”, “Motown the Musical”, “Pippin”, “Hamilton” and “Donna Summer the Musical” for which she was Tony nominated. She booked the WSS gig while doing Donna Summer. She’s an Afro Latina who began as a dancer and who also supports LGBTQ+ rights. I have watched this song about 20 times and I still love it as much as I did first time around. Thanks for the amazing analysis and just as importantly the genuine enthusiasm!
Ariana is flawless!! I've got to know her because of The Prom, which is a lovely movie based on the Broadway musical. The movie is available on Netflix! You shoud hear her sing "Alyssa Greene", that's her solo there! But my fav is the duet "Dance With you" 😍😍
She's also the bullet in Hamilton and played Donna Summer in Broadway!! She's also in a TV series featuring many Broadway references, in which she sings "With All of your heart", the song is really nice!
Schmigadoon on Apple TV+ is another thing she was good in! Not going to lie I hadn't seen the Prom or WSS at that point so that was my first introduction to her but yeah she was great in that show! The cast of the show is also great. Ariana DeBose, Kristen Chenoweth, Dove Cameron, Aaron Tveit, and Alan Cummings play some of the important figures in the town of Schmigadoon plus Keegan Michael Key and Cecily Strong play the unhappy couple that find their selves transported into Schmigadoon. The show is both a parody and an homage to classic musicals. I found it a fun watch.

I hope you have Disney +. There is show called "Step into the Movies" with the Houghs and they have that Anita Arian Debose. some wonderful singing and Dancing
I love how excited you get watching. I felt exactly the same way watching! I LOVE the original and was kind of against the remake, but I loved it just as much as the original. GREAT performances! and it was updated appropriately. Spielberg did that!!!! I also noticed the women in pants. Nice touch!
Oh if you'd like to react to a solo from her recent work, you should check out "With All of Your Heart" from Schmigadoon! She has a good roster of work and performances so I'll just name those that you might know her from. Ariana is an original company member of Hamilton and originated the key ensemble track of The Bullet. She currently has a Golden Globe, BAFTA and now nominated for an Oscar. She was also nominated for a Tony for her performance as Disco Donna in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.
America is the most exciting dance number I have ever seen. I love both the 1961 and the 2021 versions. Maybe you can compare them both? In WSS the Dance at the Gym is my all time favorite of the 2021 film. The dancing is GREAT!!! Even though there is no singing, it leads to the Maria song. Maybe you can compare the 2 films. I have subscribed today. You give me good insight into the making of a song. Thanks.
Ariana was in the original Broadway cast for Hamilton playing the bullet character & also in The Prom movie musical on Netflix. She was in Apple TV plus show called Schmigadoon. Really fun
I held out in n watching this movie because I was a little bitter it got an Oscar nom and not tick tick boom. Felt like I was cheating ony main men Jonathan , Andrew and Lin. Well enjoyed it soooo much .. and what had me coming back was not the acting or singing it was the orchestra! And dancing !! It made me feel I was in the theater.. and I was blown away ... And omg the final scene
She is now an Oscar winner. I saw her on Broadway in Hamilton, a Bronx Tale and As Donna Summer in the Donna Summer musical. She was also delightful in the TV musical the series Schmigadoon. My worry is should become a movie star and not to musicals anymore. She is brilliant.
Months ago, you reacted to songs from Hamilton. She (Ariana DuBose) is all throughout Hamilton, but as a member of the chorus (known as “Bullet”). She is the one that whispers to King George that John Adams has become the new president. She is a standout even as a member of the chorus.
She is the amazingly lovely Ariana DeBose and she's been in Bring It On the Musical, Hamilton, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, and The Prom on Netflix. I love love LOVE her😂

In WSS the Dance at the Gym is my all time favorite of the 2021 film. The dancing is GREAT!!! Even though there is no singing, it leads to the Maria song. Maybe you can compare the 2 films. I have subscribed today. You give me good insight into the making of a song. Thanks.
It’s a brilliant film. Saw it at the Cinema.
love the dance break 3:36
I completely blame this movie (specifically this song) for the main reason I wanted a swishy wedding dress
Love this. Also did you see that Netflix released a deleted Tick Tick boom song?
Ariana DeBose actually has quite the Broadway career was Tony nominated for her performance as Donna Summer.
She was in SHMIGADOON (Disney plus) it’s a play off of brigadoon and she’s incredible in it as well!!! Amazing cast. You have got to check it out!!!!
Been a fan of Ariana DeBose since the film version of The Prom. This is why.
love the men and girls harmonies ❤❤❤ vocals wise
This edition of America reminds me so much of Bollywood dance sequences! Lots of playback singing, but it's always so colourful and enjoyable!
Girl, I love you more making the whole description. I found you for the Little Mermaid! Your great!
And omg the final scene
your excitement is absolutely adorable
She is now an Oscar winner. I saw her on Broadway in Hamilton, a Bronx Tale and As Donna Summer in the Donna Summer musical. She was also delightful in the TV musical the series Schmigadoon. My worry is should become a movie star and not to musicals anymore. She is brilliant.
Please more West Side Story!! I subscribed!
My favorite song from the movie! So amazing!
Spielberg is a Genius
love harmony of guys and girls 2:25
Ariana DeBose was Anita and she just won the Oscar for this performance. I first saw here as the Bullet in Hamilton.
Ariana DeBose, definitely a Broadway triple threat! Not a newbie!
You need to watch SCHMIGADOON! it’s perfection!
I love love LOVE her😂
love the songs
OSCAR-WINNER Ariana DeBose
please react to the performances from the prom. Its an amazing movie, awesome message and her performance is brilliant
