Great info, I've recently bought a new one and already think my remington pest controller is a better gun. The bsa does look great though.

I've got the gas ram version with 2019 serial number, had to change the breach seal to weirauch and redo all the stock screws with a much better use of blue loctite than it came with, plus put a plastic washer under the forend screws to get the breach solid, and now it shoots 8y to 60y AA field about 11mm to 20mm groups at 11.4ftlbs.
trigger is questionable but works and its alright but no CDT or rekord unit.
needed a sportsmatch one piece to stop the scope from slowly creeping back but seems in good shape for now.
going weirauch or air arms next time cause they just shouldnt come from the factory with the amount of issues they have, absolutely diabolical compared to the reviews most give them

Quite right matey, Tell them straight, Remington need to split BSA from Gamo and return production to the UK, Drop the crappy changes made by Gamo and go back to the old piston and seal and get rid of that Gamo trigger the old trigger unit might not have been great but it worked well enough, The only thing I dont miss about the older BSA built units is that terrible maxi grip scope rail, it made servicing bloody awkward to say the least It turned what should have been a half hour job into an hour and a half sweat. The Supersport used to be a great little gun the lightning has all the potential to be an even better gun but is let down by cheap manufacturing and cheapening redesigns.. I have two of these Spanish built lightnings one in each caliber good lookers but one is not as good as the other when it comes to performance I also have half a dozen supersports the triggers are slightly cumbersome but release well and the guns are accurate and for anyone living somewhere where the power limits are more realistic they will crank up to 17 FPE without any specialist knowledge. My .25 would do even better than that.

In the end they go down the road of making money and lose sight quality
