I am so sorry, dude. You clearly put WAY MORE effort into this theory than SEGA did in Forces. I woulda loved to play out a plot centered around this theory, especially given the detail of the ruby's position matching Knuckles' is the best explanation I've seen for that to date.

Super Sonic has invincibility.
Even if Knuckles caught him off guard and sucker punched Sonic, it still wouldn’t have been enough to cleanly knock him out of his super form.
SegaMaster172 Sonic Unleashed says otherwise. Eggman managed to extract the Chaos Emeralds from Super Sonic when he had his guard down as well.
but that was with a machine that drained sonic of his chaos powers hence why the emeralds were extracted and drained of there chaotic energy
blasttothemax Yeah, looking back on it, that was a bad example. Even then, I still think Knuckles just caught him off guard. Sure, Super Sonic may be invincible, but that doesn't mean he can't be knocked out of his Super form.
I mean, if he wasn't caught off guard, would Knuckles have been able to defeat Super Sonic in Hidden Palace Zone? Of course not, Super Sonic is far stronger than Knuckles in his base form. However, Sonic was clearly not being serious when arriving upon Angel Island, so he let his guard down, making himself vulnerable. Knuckles attacked an unsuspecting Super Sonic and knocked him out of his Super form.

@@idontknowwhattoputhere7017 Based on what I know The Phantom Ruby isn't more powerful than the chaos emeralds just because the Phantom King can hurt Super Sonic. Strong Bosses have been able to hurt super sonic before but not severely as they can't complete penetrate Super Sonic's chaos energy aura. Super Sonic was nigh-invulnerable in all of those situations.

Your idea for the origins of the Phantom Ruby are SO much better than what we ultimately got in Forces.
Hi there. After watching your theory, I found a tiny flaw: in Infinite's theme, he says: "This pain persists, I can't resist." Why would he resist, if he's the ruby controlling a husk Eggman made? Also, another line states: "Only scars remain of who I was." What would that mean for the ruby? He underwent no change. I think these flaws would be fixed if this was combined with The Sega Scourge's theory. Eggman found the ruby in the present. After testing it on his robots, he realized that the ruby quickly corrupted them and turned them against him, like the Phantom King. He decided to test it on a living creature; a random animal. The Avatar's friend. He couldn't resist the ruby's influence, and became Infinite. The Avatar finds out that Eggman kidnapped his friend, so he joins the resistance to find and save him.

It may not be 100% true, but I love games like this that have hugely expansive lore. It feels like you’re but a small piece of a huge plot spanning thousands of years.

The problem with the "parallel universe" part, as I've said countless time, is that it was already established that Sonic doesn't follow Schrodinger's multiverse but a "isekai" multiverse, where everything is unique. There's no redundancy in characters. Seriously, are we gonna forget the power of the stars and how they work?

Phantom Ruby, unlike Emeralds, is sentient. It is drawn to it's "Master". In that case it's Eggman. He didn't just "found it". It came to him! Returned to him after events of Mania, when Eggman became it's master, and then dissapeared after events of Mania Plus, and it returned to him in Forces.

It really shows that you put a lot of time and thought into this theory. It was the best one yet and the delivery made it all sound so convincing. I didn't even notice the hints in Sonic Mania's song titles. You may as well be writing the official canon history in these games, cause it sounds too close to be coincidental

Given how the Echidna tribes had some kind of connection as you said in this video, then the big question is will Shade be a part of this? Clearly she was seen leaving the Twilight Cage with Sonic and friends at the end of Chronicles and that's it for her. We don't know what happens after wards.

My only problem with the story is that Sonic Team is trying to pull a DBZ timeline split to separate Modern and Classic Sonic just to please the both types of fans. This would be a catastrophic mistake as both Sonic need to be the same...
*Just imagine, Modern Sonic's 1st appearance would be that cringey intro in SA1 and Classic Sonic's (AKA fake Sonic) story would end in Forces or whatever will happen. Actually some people did know about the phantom ruby. The first few people who knew about the phantom ruby was the dynasty of primes with prima, almagamous prime, megatronus(the fallen), alchemist prime, solus prime, micronus, and quintus who thought that the phantom ruby was used the same power as the matrix of leadership to use it as an alternative power source for the sun harvester

A lot of people have been saying there are two Phantom Rubies. Let's pretend that is the case for a moment. If the Phantom Ruby does indeed have an exact counterpart, it might , mean that it is similar to the Power Stones from SatAm. And if that's the case, uniting the two rubies would likely end the world, possibly universe, or if connected on the other side, infinite power. More than likely, two Phantom Rubies is not likely the case.
I don't know, the 'dimensional breach' thing implied to me that the breach in question was the Phantom Ruby entering that dimension, and it crashed into Angel Island.

(Also for the time travel thing, in general not only here, it's a really delicate topic so if someone wants to use it, it has to be really but REALLY clever and studied, because i think that if you time travel or whatever the same things that happened before will still happen anyways so... it's really hard to implement it in a plot or a theory, yet it's one of the most used plot devices)

THEORY: It during the events of Sonic cd fell down to angel island (and got buried in the dirt) from little planet and was kept there

First off, that's a very cool theory. You clearly put a lot of thought into it, and most of what you say makes sense. Since dimensions are a thing in the story now, it's very plausible that Classic Sonic [CS] (after Generations) made things different in his timeline compared to Modern Sonic [MS]. Also, Classic Eggman [CE] learned from the mistakes of Modern Eggman [ME] and managed to uncover the Ruby, which would beat the Emeralds.
However, I have a couple questions... You say that the Sonic and Eggman in Mania are CS and CE, and Forces is tied to Mania. Then, does that mean that the MS of Forces is actually the future self of CS, and the CS of Forces is actually a second CS from the past of the first CS?
Also, about your part at 15:59 - 16:07, when you talk about how the Eggmans learned about the Ruby from Ix in the Twilight Cage, there's a problem with it. If Eggman was warped into Twilight Cage and met Ix, and is still in Forces, that means that Eggman found a way out of that Cage. But if Eggman managed to find a way out, Ix would surely have followed him, since I'm sure he'd want to get back to his home-world and use the Ruby himself to conquer the world. And I remember that Ix completely blocked off the Cage forever. The 2nd hypothesis on how CE found Ruby makes a bit more sense, but how would he find it if only Ix knows about its placement? By chance? Seems very convenient. If Classic Tails found the Ruby through the Wisps, how did CE find it? (Actually, does Classic Tails even know about Whisps?)
In any case, there's a lot of possible discussions about Forces. Keep up the work.
EDIT: I just realized something. About what I said on how MS of Forces is the future self of CS we know from Generations, and the CS of Forces is actually a second CS... What if, the CS of Forces is ACTUALLY the MS we knew all this time? Hear me out... at the end of Chronicles, Sonic & Co find their world dominated by Eggman, because time flows very differently between the Twilight Cage and their world, so Eggman had all the time in the world to build his empire. So what if, at the end of Chronicles, MS goes through spacetime and lands in the CS timeline instead of his own timeline, in which, since CS is the real Sonic there, he's actually the MS of his timeline, while the ex-MS who arrives into a different timeline is retrograded to the CS of that timeline.
I know it's convoluted and I realize it has issues, but that's a 2am theory, so yeah xD
For that theory of mine to even work, CS would have to have gone through most of what MS went through in his own timeline, minus the Chronicles part, because otherwise CS wouldn't have become the MS of his timeline when compared to the ex-MS who just came back from the Cage and became CS for that timeline.
But that still doesn't solve things since that would mean every character appears twice, the classic and modern versions, including 2 Shadows, plus there would be Shade...
EDIT: You know what, I confused myself with this theory. It became way too convoluted. That's why 2am theorizing isn't good...
