- It's still the week before Christmas, today (Tuesday) I'm trying to find a load using the Courier Exchange/Haulage Exchange.
This video hopes to show what it's like to be a Self Employed HGV Owner/Driver (Owner/Operator) during an average week travelling the UK, so not very exciting !
I run a Scania R410 26 tonne curtainsider with a 16 standard pallet/20 euro pallet capacity, 8.5 metre load bed, 14 tonne payload and ADR (Hazardous Goods) compliant.
As usual I do a lot of talking though I hope to show any new drivers what the job is really like.
'I KNOW THESE CAN BE LONG VIDEOS, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH IT ALL AT ONCE, GET A BREW, COME BACK LATER OR TOMORROW'
Thanks for keeping it real Rockgod😊 Happy New Year and all the best for 2025🎉🎉
@@petershaw9155 Happy New Year.
Hello again stranger, another great video, it's always the same that you plan to be at the drop off place ,but then accidents or road works slow you down.
Have a happy new year mate.

Cheers, All the best to you.
This the new way haulage works
You must have all the paper work ready to submit and goods in transit
Great vlog again pal. If you change your mind about 'KEEPING IT REAL ' merchandise, I know a bloke who knows a bloke who can print you up some caps ,t-shirts, sweatshirts and underpants.
OK, Thanks for the heads up, I'll think about it.
Cheers.
Love the videos, how did the rest of the week go ? Hopefully a video update

A couple more vids will be here within the next week.
@ I like the style of videos. It’s nice to hear your work timetables and dilemmas. Don’t make any videos longer than 40 minutes, nice to see loading unloading if possible. Nice to hear the ups and downs of being an owner driver. Nice to see day to day operations. I can’t believe the poor rates being offered on Amazon. How much a year does it cost to be able to use those 2 apps ? How long do you plan to run that truck, do you have any plans for replacing it over the next 5-10 years, if and when.
👍
Loads for the Larger Gentlemen😂 know exactly where that place is👍
1 hour delay on the 62, was that the day of the sawdust truck fire? I got held up in that on my way back to our yard from batley.
@@cavtd
I think so, though I was only delayed about 10 minutes as everything had been cleared so I didn't see anything.
Hi rock god, that Thursday regular job you have must restrict you as what you can do before it? It's not even in your area? Do you not find it a pain having to be in utoxetter every Thursday?
@@andrewgerrard2272 It can be a pain but it's a well paid guaranteed job every week and most weeks it works out OK.
Hi buddy nice to see your videos can i ask on your Scania mpg thanks
@@ml2logistics
During a 'normal' week I average approx 14 mpg.
A bad week would be 12.5 mpg and a good run (light load, long run, plodding along) could be as high as 16 mpg but that's rare.
Thanks buddy just collecting info because like to buy 18t or 26t 🤝
@@ml2logistics
Fuel economy will be similar for both but obviously that depends on how heavy the load is.
@@TheRockgod23 thanks a lot
Because I running luton van on cx and think to go for hgv
What bands is tge RockGos trucker listening to? I wish my long hair would have lasted longer into my life!
@@ALMELMUSIC
Depends on my mood, currently going through a Southern Rock/Country phase like The Cadillac 3, Skynrd, Brothers Osborne to the likes of Jason Aldean (especially when driving) though when I get home normally revert to the usual AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, Nazareth, Metallica, Motley Crue etc etc.
Cheers.
@TheRockgod23 interesting! My band is Dream Theater, but I do love Power Metal of various types. I do however listen to all kinds though. Been listening to some old Bucks Fizz lately because the songs are quite clever and bekieve it or not a bit proggy! Can't believe I said that lol 🤣. Been also listening to the country side of Metallica lately too such as the Unforgiven 2 and 3 and also their bob seger cover etc. I had to get rid of my hair unfortunately as I was starting to look like the guy off Little Britain. Cherish yours mate, looks really good! There's a couple in your list that i'll check out that i'm unaware of. Keep making your vids mate, it's good stuff.
