In Michigan we have sheepsheads all over aka fresh water drums. I’ve caught 30inchers around 12 pounds even got a video on my channel although my scale was broke and said 18lbs.

The South Carolina state record for a sheepshead is 16 pounds 6 ounces. That was a huge fish. You should have weighed it. You might have broke that record.

Sheepshead are some of the best tasting fish in Florida. They’re bony so I never keep the small ones. I’ve never caught a 22 incher! Congrats!

We always looked for sheephead along the pilings using fiddler crabs as bait. Kept a few for dinner with fresh tartar sauce....the best.
