    I feel people have too high expectations for this card.
    It is a low power, budget card.
    It does the job and will run the majority of AAA titles at high-ultra, at 60fps, 1080p
    Now if you're looking for 4K and high refresh rates, this obviously isn't going to be the card for you.
    But as a casual gamer, who just enjoys games, in playable quality without breaking the bank, this card is perfectly adequate.

      I bought a 1650, and even in games like GTA V I can really crank up the graphics and stay around 60 fps. I do have an oc'ed one with +200 MHz, but it's from gigabyte, not my own oc. It still will max at only 65° during stress tests, which is where my old GPU would idle at (passively cooled gt 610). Honestly it's great for 60 fps medium to high quality at 1080p, the only potential problem is long-term use, my old GPU I had for close to 10 years, and I expect similar performance towards when I replace this one

The 1650 is for someone who has an OEM PC and wants to play modern games with it at 1080p, which is a surprisingly large group of people. It's also pretty useful for someone wanting to use a pico-PSU or similar for a low power build. It'll sell like hotcakes no doubt. If they make a half-height option it'll sell like BOGO hotcakes! It should still be $30 cheaper though...

    The reason I got it was a mini-itx build with limited cooling In-Win A1. Did not want to go with the Rx 570 because power consumption was way higher, like double. That means more heat I didn't want in the case and noise due to fans going up. Noise, and Power/heat was what pushed me to this card. That and I didn't want to step up to 1660 due totally different price range. For the games I do play, this card will more than suffice.

  • @FARBerserker
    @FARBerserker 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yes, this is exactly what such cards are good for.
    Or even for upgrading an older HTPC to HDMI2.0 for 4K Media Consumption Capabilities.
    Hell, even for my old 1050 this would still be a 30% or more increase in power!

    • @FARBerserker
      @FARBerserker 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Coke Weasel low profile cards are coming as well, so even smaller cases can accomodate them.
      Personally, i am still hoping for a complete passive cooled variant.

    There is only one issue with this: a decent cheap 500W PSU and RX570 costs less... And it's not like the cables from those PCs are hard to unplug (no cable management, after all)

    What resolution was RE2? you sayed it was 1080p but looks lower resolution, also you can notice it by the the afterburn letters/numbers, they are bigger than the 1080p res at doom/tomb rider and much bigger than 1440p in doom

    Nice ring, is that tungsten carbide?
    Even though the CPU utilization is not at a 100% is doesn't mean the processor isn't the bottleneck. It just says the game engine can't leverage all CPU resources. Doom is barely using (more) than 4 threads that's why CPU utilization isn't peaking at a 100%. Resident Evil 2 on the other hand can take full advantage of the 4 cores you throw at it. So the CPU is maxed out all the time. It just comes down to engine optimization.
