This is your next party dish! It’s like a Japanese take on seven layer dip. 😆 Happy Sunday! 💕

I prefer this to store bought cali rolls! I usually make Cali rolls for parties but this is perfect for one person. I used leftover rice, half a cucumber, one avocado (that was going bad) and a big handful of flake Krab. I also had furikake and plain nori. Used a small pie plate and it made a flavorful lunch. Could definitely feed 2. Thanks for the idea. Super easy if you already have the ingredients on hand.

I've already made this dish twice. I shared it with many people already. I absolutely love it. The second time I made it I added a layer of cream cheese under the crab. I know how to roll sushi but I like this recipe better. I found this gadget at the Asian store it's like some kind of mold to make sushi rolls. You just put your seaweed on the bottom, add a layer of rice then your toppings, add another layer of rice, fold over the two flaps of the seaweed then press the mold over the rice. Super simple. Thank you for sharing your delicious recipes.

Good party appetizer. If you don’t want to make the vinegar/sugar sauce the Asian stores sell dry sushi seasoning to sprinkle over the rice and mix. Myself still like to do the old fashioned way.

Outstanding!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I made this yesterday for a party and it was a huge hit and very delicious. There was a vegetarian at the party so I made a 2nd version that used extra firm tofu instead of the fake crab. Also added diced up cucumber to both. I cut my avocado into smaller pieces than shown in the video as I thought that make it easier to serve/eat. I will definitely be making this again.

I made this recipe today and it was delish! I made a half portion, halved all the ingredients and it fit a 8 inch glass square pan perfectly. I didn't add additional sesame seeds because the furikake that i brought already had a bunch of sesame seeds in it. Great deconstructed California roll recipe & video!!

I know real crab is more expensive but having worked in fish plants I know how they do the imitation the real is best for me. Salad shrimp would be a good option too. Take care with imitation crab as it's not gluten free if that is a concern. You all rock! Can't wait to try this

Stove top sushi rice - 1 cup of water per 1 cup of rice plus an additional 1/2 cup. So 3 cups rice to 3.5 cups water. Add rice, water and a pinch of salt to pot. Bring to boil and then turn heat to low cover with lid. Cook for 18 minutes. Turn heat of and leave for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork

It is just a cup of mail. Two egg yolks a dash of sugar and a dash of rice wine vinegar.

Have been making this for years, make sure to use fresh rice and rinse it till the water runs clear. I always cook salmon-chop it up; mix it with the crab. I also use Unagi (eel sauce) in a zig zag pattern on top as it not only looks pretty but compliments the fish flavors.

I do use the stovetop as well as a rice cooker to make sushi rice.
One cup of rice and one cup of water.
    Teaspoon of salt.
Bring to a boil stirring to prevent sticking.
As soon as it boils lower the heat as low as it will go.
Cover the pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
    Turn off the heat.
    Do not lift lid.
    Let sit for twenty minutes.
    Makes great rice every time.
