Chilled Goods are a whole new headache as every item needs to be checked in first and the number of damaged / unacceptable returns is massive but enjoy your new job Scott you deserve it
so great to have you back doing videos Scott just wondered if you have your plates in the windscreen so people can spot you out and about on the roads?
Good to have you back and welcome to the night shift . ( that's what I do but I start at 8pm ) . Apart from the diversions traffic is light and you soon get used to the day time sleep. Never used those couplings so would confuse me also.
Count yourself lucky you’ve been around the Dartford crossing during the quiet period Scott I’ve used them palm couplings, red decided to unhook as I was coming out of a garden Center in Southampton grrrrrr
I remember palm couplings from doing ferry trailers and US trailers, they're ok normally, but the adaptors seem to put them under more strain which can make them leak, especially when turning, Also used another connection on some German trailers, where both airlines are attached on the same coupling.
Scott,a few drivers I know don't like they European couplings but a good driver like yourself it's no problem, stay safe son,and safer driving, keep them coming, best driving channel on here, regards🚛🚛🏴👍
A lot of people don't know that a fridge trailer can weigh up to 15tons empty = heavy when loaded, and very easy to tip over if carrying hanging pigs carcasses.
Yep I use them, here in the Netherlands and I dont like the couplings. You can always use a blank english cmr and hold it next to the dutch cmr. Nice looking MAN truck scott, and another great flog you stay safe out there👍👍👍
Hiya Scott, you enjoying working for yourself ? I’m thinking of doin same thing myself nights , weekends odd days in week however it comes really . I just get concerned about money and how much to charge . How do you charge ? Per day ? Per hour ?
Ford T series? Been around a year or two but they’re not made in RHD. However if Stobart or whoever their Daddy these days enquired about a large order I reckon we’d see some made. Their German arm use them already. Built in Türkiye I believe. *F-Max not T
Palm couplings were generally used for the air brake hoses between UK railway carriages & wagons for decades. Maybe still are, in fact . . . You'll see them at pretty much every preserved railway in the land.
Better easier work on the reefer l...after 23 years of class 1 driving i can never understand why anyone would want to do rope and sheeting or any flatbed work, messing about with straps etc I know it doesnt pay any better than fridge or a tautliner job do so why bother putting more work on yourself Love fridge work or containers as its an absolute doddle
Can tell the change in work has made you happier!! Cracking job 🎉
... another quality video from the best Welsh trucker!! 😁😎👍

Great vlog, nice to see roads I recognise for once as I am based right near that "dreaded" Dartford tunnel.
Put some squeeze on the seal of the parm coupling and it’ll seal

In the US, those are referred to as "Glad Hands". No other type of air coupling is used.
