- Come with me for a load out of Hull to the south west of England, I'm not allowed to film on site but I do learn lots about what they do where I load from. Then I do a local export load but loading on the boat is different to what I've shown before

Well said about the services Jemma 👏 The standard of services across the UK are a disgrace and treat truck drivers like second class citizens . Yet the prices they charge are beyond a joke .

Services need nationalising and making humane and refreshment at workers costs. National disgrace we have become a 3rd world country compared to France and Spain

I use glass white marker pen on inside of windscreen. Like when you see car prices on glass. Except thin marker not thick. works a treat.
Hi Jemma. I hear wat u say about lack of facilitys for you girl truckers. Then all you girl truckers on or off tube need to get together and make it clear in uncertain terms to the truck stop owners about this serious problem. You have a right to be given dedicated secure facilitys and privacy. The situation needs addressing . Start making a noise about it. Regards Dave

Another brilliant video Jemma, I'm angry about the services also. It's a scandal, that they do not provide what their advertising. This country as a long way too go to catch up with the continental services. I mean how difficult is it too have more than one key. The whole services network needs a complete overhaul. 👍👍

Totally understand you being upset about the shower situation jemma when I used to work on the wagons you were lucky to find a working shower and most of them are cold or just a trickle of water, I'm a very hygienic kind of person and it can make a massive difference to your mood and how you feel just for the sake of a decent shower 😢, love watching you take care 🎉❤

Well said about the services. I drive nights and most places have little open to the point where I try to be self sufficient. Even had some places where the toilets are locked " for security" . Great content thanks for uploading
its awful. I done night driving when I first started and its incredibly tough. you should at least be able to freshen up and get a coffee :)

Hi Jemma, I'm a bit slow as I've only just seen this video 🙈 but I completely agree about the service stations in this country, barely any are truck friendly, its disgusting how we're treated, esp as lorries are so important for near enough everything. Keep up the good work though, love your video blogs. I'm only a class two driver, but watching your videos makes me really want to do class one.
Those service stations are unforgivable and we can not believe how bad they are! I can understand the rules for the huge plant you went to looks like a huge place!!! Aas always great video and I have to say a highlight of my weekends! Have a great easter and hope the house is coming along!

You women and men are so important to any economy. I really believe services to commercial drivers are lacking where you are from. My sympathies.
My brother is a commercial driver here in Canada🇨🇦. There are service stations that cater to truck drivers, with an attendant to ensure the washrooms/showers are sanitized after each use, plus fresh towels!! Electronic keys for entry , which of course expire after the washroom facility is used!!! Of course, that is not always the case. There are scummy stations , unfortunately!!!

Another awesome vlog Jemma, you have inspired me to try and get into tippers, trying local companies but not many near where I live so may have to commute, but if I’m out all week it’s not so bad, fingers crossed, will keep you posted if I land anything 👍. Keep on trucking Jemma 🤛
When I was on tippers average turn round time was 8-10 minutes, you don't get time to fart.

Bang on about services … why I don’t miss driving up and down dale.. small truck stops been pushed out by big services and now don’t offer the same as the small places !

Hi Jemma, your channel came to me as a recommendation from TH-cam and I’m glad it did. You’re delightful, with a happy disposition. And you wear your heart on your sleeve as shown in this video. Don’t worry, here in Australia, the service stations aren’t that much better, but for someone to, in essence, shrug their shoulders and say I don’t know where the key is is downright appalling.
I’m envious of your reversing skills, especially on your blind side, you put many drivers to shame.
Your driving appears to be of a very high standard, your commitment to your job is beyond reproach, and the standard to which you look after your truck is benchmark and that is commendable. I feel you will be very successful in whatever endeavour you choose.

Hi Gemma, you are so right about the services. I work nights. You can’t get anything at the services apart from an over priced sandwich at night.
I remember in the late 90’s stopping at a French truck stop in Roye where the locals would bring their families in at the weekend as the food/buffet was so great. That wouldn’t happen here. You’d need a mortgage to pay for it. Keep up the good work. 😎

Great video! The cooking part is a nice touch and an inspiration to others on the road. trouble is: not all trucks are fitted with a microwave and fridge. I know some truckers who take their own microwave and inverter.
Surely in this day and age sleeper cabs at least should be fitted with a cassette type toilet and compact wash basin as some compact caravans. Yes, I agree a lot of truckstop services shower facilities leave a lot be desired.
Thank you! yes I am very lucky to have a truck with a microwave a fridge. I know a lot of companies who pay for services say that they don't provide as the driver can get a meal voucher in the services but not only is service station food generally unhealthy I think a fridge and microwave is not a lot to ask for with the working hours expected of a driver. I get the shower toilet issue is a space and cleanliness thing as the cab is quite small and is also your bedroom and kitchen

Service stations need a boot up their backside treating lorry drivers like they do, almost everything in this country depends on the service provided by truckers and they get very little respect from lots of service stations ..... It's very different abroad and the UK would do well to follow in the footsteps of places like Spain. Brilliant commentary and videography again, hope you have a great Easter and stay well 👍🏻

Totally agree with you there Gemma, services in this country treat drivers so badly it’s unbelievable, but there happy to take your £30 a night parking fee or what ever it costs now.

That refinery at the start is indeed very pretty lit up. I assume security is always tight in places like this. Although I'm not a truckie, I can understand why you were so angry at 4:55. These roadhouses are usually bad in every country, especially for truck drivers. I'm sure it wasn't a good feeling you couldn't shower there. I've been in England only once, so I don't know your country at all. I really like the small villages and towns you're driving through. And the ports are really spectacular everywhere. The weather was typical British all day, which is not surprising this time of the year I guess. Great vlog as always Jemma, it's so good we can enjoy your adventures every Saturday. I kept looking out for you, but only saw 2 Wains trucks (Both Volvo’s) Absolutely shocking state of affairs regarding your issues with the services!!! Took a little longer being a bank holiday, but not as bad as the hold ups going Southbound. I was a truck driver for 18 years, but am currently a stay at home Dad/lunchtime supervisor at a preschool. I do miss the driving to be honest, but not always 😂 I’m so sorry!! I can only hope things improve in the future!! 🙏🤞 Can believe the way it is in 2023 can you?!! I remember during COVID I got a load of fertiliser and the driver told me how hard things were as they weren't getting allowed to use some facilities.
As a farmer I know exactly how important truck drivers are and the way you're treated in this country is a utter disgrace.
It should be the law that service stations have to have a decent standard to make life decent for truck drivers.
Maybe then we wouldn't be so short of drivers that do a vitality important job for the country.
I believe the continental services are much better.
I like you telling us about your hours as it puts it in context why you have to stop and the hours you can work.

thank you. yes it was tough over covid, especially at the start. your right! the government should step in a do something. i'm pretty sure they are aware of the problems but constantly bury their heads in the sand
Of course there was absolutely no requirement to close facilities, covid is primarily airborne and certainly not water borne. The masks were useless too as far as covid is concerned. They will stop dust or most of it, but don't work against viruses.

After all the clue is in the name it’s supposed to be a service station. They are not doing their job properly. But I’m glad you seemed a bit happier when you got un loaded at Poole. I've retired now but I would never stay in services. You are right they are disgraceful. Plenty small places, Exeter Inn, red fox, Glastonbury truck stop etc. They look after you 😉
Something needs to be done about the services! I would start by contacting the companies that run the services and get together with a few of the other trucker youtubers and approach them in numbers! That rice sounds nice going to have to try that.

I so agree, you are the backbone of the country with deliveries, contact the transport authority and let loose on them. I know not all are bad but it's the few that is that ruin the journey. Did this tramping job for 20 odd years, now retired. Services for truckers then were grim, seems nothing has changed. Towards the end of my career got to drive on the continent.......what an eye opener in comparison

Instead of wasting money on HS2 which will only benefit the few they should of spent the money on the infrastructure of motorway better services for truck Drivers and other commuter's which in turn will make truck driving look more appealing to people the lack of services in the UK is disgusting. You Truck drivers are the back bone of Britain and the world there isn't one person in the uk who doesn't have something in their homes which wasn't delivered by a lorry. Keep up the good work Jemma we value you and if i had the money i would build a whole network of new Service stations.

Worth trying Donnington park showers I know the mens showers were updated around Xmas 2021 so I'd imagine the woman's were done aswell. Well said about the showers tho they are awful. Keep up the good work 👌
When reversing a trailer it's easier to hold your steering wheel at the 6 o'clock position, and to move the trailer left or right is easy. Move your hand to the left and the trailer will move left. The same process for the right. It's very easy to direct your trailer into tight positions.
