Yea, as a Canadian I to wish Canada would have bought the Gripen E, they could have bought a lot more than 88 f35 and fly them a lot cheaper than the f35, and be a lot more reliable and versatile, the Gripen is a lot cheaper and I am surprised that Canada didn't buy the Gripen because it is cheaper than the f35 in every way, Canadian politicians always buys the cheapest equipment for the Airforce or Canadian military in general.

I can see how this plane would stand well in a conflict. As it’s not stealth design per se, it’s smaller and has superb electronic jamming tech. Meanwhile it’s super maneuverable and can carry loads of equipment.
Canada absolutely bought the wrong plane. The Gripen was almost purpose built for the needs of our air force and our primary defense mission. The protection of our northern border. We sgould have bought the Gripen E.
Because of its potency/cost ratio, the Saab JAS-39E Gripen is literally the best fighter jet in the world, unless your country is called The United States of America and has am essentially unlimited military budget. For the same money, an air force populated with Gripens would be more powerful than an air force populated with ANY other plane, including the F-22 Raptor.
Due to delays in the F35 productions. Canada should acquire enough JAS 39 E enough to have 3 frontline squadrons and training planes. This could allow Canada to retire the oldest CF 18 who are rapidly becoming obsolete.

Excellent video explaining many capabilities of the new Gripen E/F versions.
Undoubtedly - The SAAB JAS 39 GRIPEN E/F Version simply HAS to be considered as one of the most Exquisite and Top Modern Equipped & massively Capable Midsize Jet Fighters avaliable on the Air Defence market today - or - to express it in some other words, once everlastingly sung by another rather well known Swedish phenomenon - the ABBA Pop Group: "Times of joy, and times of sorrow - We have allways seen them through And I don't care what comes tomorrow - We can face it together The way old friends do" As we are now firmly together with our Strong Friends and Allies of the NATO DEFENCE PACT! And we know how to fight, as President Joe Biden clearly expressed it the very same day as when Sweden reached full membership of the Alliance! Th. Benjaminsson - Sweden * 🇸🇪 *
In August last year President Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian pilots had already started training on Gripen. It'll almost certainly be the Gripen C/D though. The production of the Gripen E/F has barely started and there aren't many of them in the world yet.
@@tessjuelZelensky was a little hasty, but halfway right. A group of Ukrainian pilots were in Sweden, at SAAB's training facility and had an introductory course, where they learned a bit more about the system, how it works in reality, not only through YT, so to speak. The pilots were impressed, and the talks about whether Ukraine would buy Gripen or not intensified. However, to be honest, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a training program secretly started in a limited way not far after that introduction.
Translate Gripen from Swedish to English in the Google translate application and both results are perfectly acceptable as the application speaks the word like a Swede.
@@boreopithecus I doubt Saab or the pilots will be offended by a slightly incorrect use of a word but we Swedes pronounce it both like green and grin depending on the person.
'Gripen' means 'the Griffin'. A 'grip' is spelled like this in Swedish for a reason, the 'i' is pronounced long, like 'ee' in English. If the 'i' should be short, there had been two 'p', 'gripp'. 'Greepen' it is. And, 'graipen' sounds like 'ripen', bananas.

We have heard that it will supercruise, but in this video you stated that "it will Supercruise even in combat configuration". You are the first source I have heard that from. Has this been confirmed, or was this speculation on your part. Thank you.
Sorry for the delay, I didn't see your comment among so many. Yes, the Gripen E can fly supercruise in an air combat configuration. Yeah that RCS... Even though the RCS is small, it its travelling in supersonic on radar. It could mean its a fighter or a missile... Although I prefer this Jas Gripen fighter coz its more cost effective in maintenance & operational cost...

Some peiple said that this fighter jet is Sukhoi killer but Sweden never deploy it in Ukraine against Russian Sukhoi...... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The question is: Is it really that good, man?? 😁😁
You know why right, it's because USA and NATO did say no to it, because Sweden did allow Ukraine to attack military targets I Russia with Gripen. Which would make US look like pussys because US hade said no to use US weapons against targets in Russia 😅
A Gripen costs $4K per hour to fly while an F35 costs $40K per hour. That's a big advantage as is the ease of maintenance with just a 5 man crew. It's short take off is designed to allow it to fly from roads rather than airfields as these soon become targets. It's also produced in Europe which means we're not dependant on the US senate to approve supplies etc. Now Sweden is a part of NATO, we should be using (and building) this fighter across Europe.
In theory it is a 4.5 generation fighter. In practice it should be something like generation 4.75 (if this classification existed), as it has almost all fifth generation technologies with the exception of the stealth fuselage.
@@MilitaryMight-xl1um thanks for the reply. I always wondered why they needed stealth features in an individual jet when they already have radar jamming roles for other escorting jets to jam the enemy radars unless the jet is flying solo.
