Everything is wrong here... Gripen E has the 414 engine which generates 98kN with AB.
Optional GE engine.
The video use the gripen C/D for comparacion, is not gripen E. It is a big wrong!

Wrong f-35 top speed is 1900 km or 1.6 mach and the JAS top speed is 2 mach or 2600 km/h so you mixed tjena up.
Mach 2+ and with super cruse.
The f35 in beast mode can do mach 2 but not in super Cruise mode
The F-35 can not hold that speed for more than a few seconds unless that problem has been fixed

I keep reading things like the F-35 having better tech (it doesn't) and the Gripen is best suited for countries with a limited budget (which is EVERY country except the USA). You want to know if the Gripen is better than the F-35, here's the answer that NOBODY can argue with:

Aren't we at 1000+ F-35 units produced? How many Gripens are there in the world? Even Norway has chosen the F-35.
F-35 also has better stealth, which helps a lot in delivering air-ground missiles against enemy AA installations. Gripen obviously doesn't have internal weapon storage like F-35. Gripen is a 4th-gen fighter, not a 5th-gen

@@daginn896 No it is not, the base of that aviation system is more than 17 yars old. It controlls close to everything in F35. This it does not allow you to add weapons without a long process. Jas uses a dubble system where aviation is separated from weapons making it possible to add new weapons at a mater of hours instead of months on an F35. But do not worry there will be a divided system in F35 block 4 and it is now under development.
F-35 don't emphasise fast speed. Because it has an electronic war system as disturbs radar and jams radar.
The importance is F-35 that does not rely on AWAC the same with JAS-39. Because AN/APG-81 AESA is better PS-05/A Raven AESA radar
Jas 39 E has a maximum altitude of 52 500 feet. Jas C has 50 000 feet.

Can't you guys ever get your your lies straight, the Gripen E has a GE 4140 with 28000 lbs of thrust, not the Volvo motor with 22000 lbs of thrust. Official top speed for the Gripen E is Mach 2 and the F-35 is Mach 1.6. Let's quit improvising on the spec's. You don't have the right to make up spec's.

Nope, by 1996 orders for upgrades to the C/D version were underway. The Gripen made its first flight in 1988 and the first batch of Gripen A/B was made in 1992.

No, those spec numbers are out of context.
For starters, the Gripen E can achieve M2.0 only in clean configuration, i.e. without missiles, fuel tanks or electronic warfare or observation pods. You can see this pattern repeating itself also in other fighters like the F-15, F-16, F/A-18, Rafale, Mirage 2000, Su-30 or Su-35 and among others, but when you set them up for a mission with a payload (even relatively light), their speed is degraded due to air resistance (aerodynamic drag of the payload). The F-35, as well as other stealth fighters do not have this problem (except if you arm them externally), because they have an internal payload bay, which makes them in many cases faster or at the same speed as 4th/4.5 generation fighters.

Firstly, F-35 is a 5th gen heavy weight fighter jet and Gripen E/F is a 4.5 gen medium weight fighter jet with remarkable electronic capabilities.
So they both have their advantages and disadvantages.
SAAB Gripen E/F is a great jet and only a fool will underestimate it. Infact if Gripen E/F gets a more powerful engine, no fighter jet in this world will be a match for SAAB Gripen in category of single engine medium weight electronic jet. SAAB is a legend when it comes to technology.
But you have to agree that F-35 is a better jet bcoz of obvious role and gen difference. Gripen E/F is a match for USA's F-16s.

Sukhoi Su 57 isnt a huge threat, I think... Still uses past engine that isnt suited for stealth and that alone can indicate that the other claims about it is similar, aka less stealthy, lacking computers compared to the West, worse EMC capabilities etc. The West hardly talk about the Su57 and trust me. That is not because of fear. If the Russians have system that was seen as a threat they would talk none stop about it because that is how you boost military spending in a democracy... In short, Su57 is probably not as good as the Russians proclaim tbh.
