    Compression is hands down the number one tool in the box. It needs to be said that youtubes own compression is not letting most of what this pedal does be heard. Its really something you have to try to really hear and feel whats happening. Just on a simple stum each string is more pronounced. As much talk as there is about sustain in a guitar compression is as close to infinite sustain as you can get. I have the hypergravity by Tc and while I love it I would love to get my hands on a cali76.

    I got nothing against Rob or the Captain but if all Anderton's did from here on out was have Pete, Ariel, Mick and Rabea demoing stuff I'd be happy. That and lessons from Ariel.

      Lewis Conger The Rob and Capt videos are not on Andertons channel. They are shot in the same room but are on Robs channel. Presumably benefits Rob and Andertons, because Robs channel has double the amount of subscribers.

    I don't think Pete and Ariel mentioned this, but a good compressor (combined with a little overdrive) is hugely useful for getting that cranked amp sound at much lower volumes. Even a 5Watt amp is too loud for me to avoid really annoying the neighbours if I run it flat out. A compressor is the only way to get all those - guitar straight into an amp - tones at home. And the good news is that you don't need an Origin Effects compressor to get that sound. The iconic MXR DynaComp will get you there and exact Chinese clones of the DynaComp are available for around £30.

    *::watches/listens Ariel kick ass with a slide::* Damn... I forgot how good an electric slide sounds in the hands of a competent player. Glad I have no pretention of ever being a good guitar player. :) Meanwhile... *::wanders off to buy the whole Bros. Landreth and Little Feat library::*

    Right. So a compressor makes the high and low volumes level out so the all happen at the same volume. Why would anyone want to do that? Are there any guitarists who dont use compressors?

    Ariel is certainly a superior slider, but i actually preferred the tones Pete was getting with the Cali. I think the other compressor is too much and the cali76 hits the right balance

    Maybe you should get your guitars fixed. They've got scratches all over them ;p

    • @jacobreece1971
      @jacobreece1971 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mister Monsieur I happen to like the looks of a reliced guitar, however a lot of players don't understand why you would pay so much money for a new guitar that looks old. The Rory Gallagher Signiture Stratocaster is completely over the top reliced, and I love it. That's why I love guitar. There's a ton of options. There's no rights or wrongs. There's just different preferences.

    • @mistermonsieur7890
      @mistermonsieur7890 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly, I think they look pretty good too(especially the telecaster). I wast just poking a little fun at the controversy.

    • @jacobreece1971
      @jacobreece1971 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mister Monsieur Haha. That's not as controversial as a tonal difference between maple and
      rosewood fretboards. That's a rabbit hole that I wouldn't even go down.

    • @mistermonsieur7890
      @mistermonsieur7890 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha I agree! But since we're on the topic, maple is definitely better though... JK! I don't want to die yet...

    • @jacobreece1971
      @jacobreece1971 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mister Monsieur I like the aesthetic of maple more especially on a black or sunburst Stratocaster, but I like the feel of rosewood. I'm more of an acoustic player than an electric one, so rosewood is just way more common. It would be funny some stereotypical nerd to say "Umm... You are both incorrect. Ebony is the far superior choice."

    To the individual moving the camera, in case you were not aware most of us that watch this channel play guitar and are also, not only deciding on the pedal, but are trying to learn from the artists that are playing. So it would be super helpful if you would stop moving the fucking camera in between bars! It's like your moving the camera angle to purposely stop anyone from seeing the rhythm or the chords of the jam. Hopefully +PeterHonore' will show how to play this on his channel.
