  • Hello there!
Today we are talking monster Tamiya.
I just converted my Tamiya boomerang to a Monster Truck version, with an upgraded front suspension, going from the single horizontal shock to two vertical shocks and massive tires.
In this video I will show you how I did it and give some tips on what to do and what not to do.

I’m not going to pretend that I understood much of what you were discussing as I know absolutely zero about RC cars, but you certainly did a good job. My vote is for the red body.

Thanks Dean, yeah that red body work is my favorite too but I hate running the thing with that body shell on as I’m scared it will get damaged 😅
      Thanks for watching 😊👍

Integy do many different sets at different spring rates for the TRX Ultra Shocks plus Traxxas do a progressive spring set for them and they are white!

Aha interesting to see that conversion. I used to have the same yellow springs on my Falcon. I replaced them with more adjustable springs. The Falcon only had a rear wheel drive so things were a little more simple at the suspension of the front wheels. The springs went trough the suspension arms. (not touching them); Like on my falcon, the suspension arms on your model seem to be made of plastic. Hope yours are stronger than mine. Where the screws connect the body and the suspension arm, the arms tend to break on the falcon. Good that the springs have metal brackets, though they might stress your suspension arms a bit more.. btw I like that blue/white bodywork ;-)

Thanks Seth, I do have a selection of spare suspension arms just in case but so far I’ve not had any issues. I think the plastic is different to what it used to be and is now a little bit tougher.
      Thanks for watching 😊👍

I agree with Dean😄…. I know nothing about RC, but great job!
I only ever have a remote control car (the one with the long wire)…. So quickly lost interest😃

It’s a nice little side hobby and it does scratch my engineering itch but it is becoming a little bit expensive….
      Thanks for watching 😊👍

Why don't you paint the springs......??

I hadn’t thought of that 🤦‍♂️. That is actually a great idea 🤩.
      Thanks 😊👍
