How time flies, I still remember the first time I saw Pieter in documentary 'Dior and I' and him being the assistant to Raf Simons...to see him much matured and now the creative director of Alaia feels like a full circle moment. And his house is full of personal touch

Indeed! Was he the gorgeous guy that one of the seamstresses lamented his life choices. But never mind, Pieter is a Gem in my opinion.
I love how warm and candid he is. On this Vogue series, sometimes you can see how guests try a little hard, or maybe their PR or publicist get in the way of the video. Here, we see candour.
I love how down to Earth he is, Pieter has been the creative director of Alaia for just a couple of years and he still has the same house, and the same close knit group of friends (Raf and Sterling).
His house is well, what you would expect of a creative director, but I love how objects become emotional around him. Even houses.
BTW, if Id bump into Pieter in the street wearing that archival Raf jacket, Id just faint. lol
His house and his objects are beautiful. He comes across as quite a wise person. Lovely to watch!

How fantastic! Loved the house, the garden and every object. It’s rare to be visually stimulated with interiors these days but this is just a whole other level of great style.
Pieter has always been such a charm to the industry, always so sweet and talented, his presence in dior and i was such treasure. The library is breath-taking. I would love to have it in my future house some day. Beautiful. And I love how even though the main material of the house is concrete, it doesn't feel cold or devoid of life and playfulness

I moved to Antwerp a few months ago and had a glance at this video, next thing I knew was that Raf's Dior documentary popped up on Mubi again--- like this city was eager to introduce him to me! Pieter really stood out in that film, it's somehow rare to see such a personality among designers-though I do also cherish the anxious or aloof ones.. I just thought he must be a really warm and fun person in life,,,turns out he is

The house and the objects seem even more interesting because Mulier loves them and appreciates them completely. And his outlook on design (and life) seem so grounded. If this were an American designer I'm afraid we would have to sit thru much name-dropping rather than personal interests...and I'm American.
