I hope you get a chance to watch the video of the 2014 race (I think I put the link in the comments on the first video of Bathurst you did) it's unbelievable. Mate there is alot of history to the v8 supercars series. If you're serious about getting into it i recommend searching the v8 supercars channel on TH-cam as they have many archived races. It's always good as i see you're trying to follow names. Commentators like Neil Crompton and Mark Skaife were previous drivers in the 90's. While Craig Lowndes is current but also raced along side those two. Might help you get an understanding of some of the drivers in modern supercars as like i said there is a long history. Obviously up to you but some advice if you're seriously interested in the series
Nick Percat drives for the Walkinshaw Andretti team, and, YES, it's that Andretti (the younger). Percat won the Bathurst 1000 on his first attempt (!) .
Yep. Gizzy won the street race in chicago. Took them to school on how to drive a street track. Best lap- 8 tenths faster than anyone else. Third fastest lap- 3 tenths faster. But some perspective here. The race was shortened which ruined a lot of strategies. And a lot of the top runners crashed out. But Gizzy didn't. He was at the top of the field for most of the race even in the wet. He is used to driving in the wet here in Australia. And Nascar drivers had never driven a street course before. But also, Trackhouse racing gave him a rocketship of a car. The highlight for me, was at the last pit stop he came out 18th and drove to the lead, with some masterfull passes. A lot of proud Kiwis & Aussies down here man. I know you don't follow Nascar, but I think you would like to watch the race around the streets of Chicago. They are now similar cars to the Aussie V8 Gen 3 Supercars.
Yeah it is a little intense isn't it I tell you what I've been getting caught up in some of this Motorsports lately especially the stuff I did not know about a 1 acre backyard is awesome
SVG should do well in any of the Road Races of NASCAR. V8 Supercar drivers live and breathe non-oval courses. It is what they've done for their whole career.
Gday cob you need to look at mark skaife and craig lowndes and the Holden race team...as a Ford fan we got smashed buy Holden for so long and slowly the fords clawed their way back and they capped team expenditure and the cars were adjusted more and more to the point the were a space frame chassis with a Ford or Holden skin
Shane gave them a lesson in car control he was has driven Rally, Supercars, GT3, ETC, he came from 18th through to 1st and did it with what looked like ease. it was also wet off line

The Bathurst 12 Hour is an annual international endurance race for GT and production cars held at the Mount Panorama Circuit. Headlights are required at the commencement of the race which commences as dawn approaches.
