What The Ancient One says to Doctor Strange about death always kills me. “You’d think after all this time I’d be ready, but look at me. Stretching one moment out into a thousand just so I can watch the snow.” I just love that scene. It was so beautiful and really heartfelt. Dude, you should definitely watch Everything Everywhere All at Once. It does the multiverse concept so well. I know you’ll love it.
The release order is the best way to tell the story, it'll make less sense watching them in timeline order because characters you haven't met yet appear all over the place and you care about them less when you don't experience their backstories accordingly. Plus the themes get jumbled and it'll get confusing. They've released them in the order they have because it makes the most sense. :) Still so excited, though!!
Exactly. Also, watching everything in chronological order is a pain if you're also watching the TV shows. Almost every movie/TV show is now on Disney. I think The Hulk and the Spider Man films are the only things missing. If you can invest the time, most of the TV shows add a lot of good stuff to the universe. But fair warning: you'll need some really good drugs to make it through Iron Fist. And try avoid smashing the screen in angry frustration.
Iron Fist isn't as bad as everyone makes out, that doesn't mean it isn't bad, it is, the writing for season 1 is appalling. Season 2 of Iron Fist was actually pretty good right up until the very last scene which ruined a solid 7/10 season. But yeah release order is the way in which the MCU was intended to be experienced.
Release order makes the most sense not only because that's how most fans of the MCU have experienced the films since Iron Man was released, but also because that's how they were meant to be viewed, and viewing them out of release order WILL spoil some key parts of other movies and TV shows. Additionally, there are shows like "Loki" that take place completely removed from time and space.
Bro no cap, yoiu have one of the best reaction channels on youtube. You add so much to the experience and you're clearly having a good time every time. Been watching you for a while and you're such an authentic dude, and definitely worth the sub

CGI can be so amazing. It just shouldn’t be used in place of practical effects. For a movie like this it’s so perfect and it’s done very well in this movie.
I think there will come a point where practical effects would come close to being obsolete. That is the realistic path the development of cgi is going to take.
@@AdamRee-lx8uh i mean you can use it but as i said it would be close to being obsolete because we all know cgi is getting cheaper and cheaper also more convenient relative to practical effects. the reason why i say this is because the point of digital effects is to mimic real life as close as they need it to right? Practical effects change the performance. Actors are only going to react slightly differently if they're actually interacting with the effects instead of a green screen
Release order is best for your first time viewing. This is because the end credit scenes (and, honestly, other scenes throughout the movies) were meant to be viewed in that order. After first viewing, however, it can be interesting to go back and view them all in Chronological order.
About the Dormammu scene and it being longer, I think the directors and the general people in charge of the MCU said that the moment looped a lot more than we actually saw. Strange could’ve been doing that for literally thousands of years, and it’s debatable as to whether he remembers everything that happened or not.

12:58 in short: yes there is evidence of this, but not to the extent mentioned here. extended answer: in university i learned about this study conducted on stress and the rate of healing. they looked at healthcare providers---one group of participants consisted of people who worked with terminally ill patients daily and the other group consisted of people who worked in less stressful or emotionally taxing healthcare areas. in the study they made on incision on each participants forearm (this was volunteer only) and observed the rate of healing. they actually found that the participants who worked in the less stressful environments healed much quicker than the other group. not only that but scarring from the incision was actually worse in those who were more stressed compared to those who were not stressed (i don't remember the exact research article but i would recommend searching it up if it interests you). also, mindfulness techniques have been shown to affect the how you respond to pain as well. it's pretty amazing how much of our physical body can be altered by more "immaterial" constructs like thoughts, emotions, etc.

Watching in timeline order doesn't make much sense. The MCU isn't telling ONE continuous story, but many independent (outside of the team up films) stories with overarching connectivity
You really shouldn’t be watching ahead & out of order in the MCU, it makes things more messy & you won’t be seeing most characters go through their arcs in order. The best & most simple way, just watch everything in release order like we do
There's a semi-joke that the CAPE/Cloak of Levitation is the most badass character in this movie, purely because of how many fights it wins. But yeah, the cape is clearly the most badass character in the movie.

You may think it’s dumb but that’s how the stories play out… in RELEASE order.
Whenever the aspect ratio changes to a taller aspect ration in their IMAX Enhanced films it's due to that being shot on IMAX which has a different aspect ratio. IMAX Enhance is basically showing you the full picture where it originally was cropped.
Awesome reaction and when you said people say marvel films don't have good acting, what movies are they watching because the MCU has some of the best acting in cinema history. Robery Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chadwick Boseman and so many others did a phenomenal job bringing these characters to life.
If you would like a couple more voices to appreciate, you may have to venture into anime territory. But Juniichi Suwabe and Kenjiro Tsuda have two of the best voices in the business. IMO. I also appreciate Benedict's voice too, instantly recognizable.
Chronological order has its issues, one being that the director assumes that you've seen the movies in release order. Spoilers happen too, especially with the end credit scenes
Dr. Strange takes place about the same time as Iron Man 2 because while he's on the phone before his wreck, he turned down the offer to help a severe spinal injury of an Air Force pilot. That pilot is actually the pilot of the Air Force's copy of the Iron Man suit in the clip that Tony Stark casts to the screen during his Congressional hearing, the guy who accidentally rotated his torso 180 degrees. Dr. Strange has been mentioned in a few other movies, which took place after Iron Man 2.
Iron Man takes place roughly around 2010, but in Dr Strange it's 2016. And its been confirmed by multiple people who worked on the movie that it's not Rhodey he's talking about.
@@blueroninstudios I don't think "that pilot" being referenced by @Witt Sullivan is Rhodey. Rhodey was fighting in Iron Man 2 after the failed demonstration by Hammer Industries - *that* pilot could absolutely still be suffering and in need of Dr Strange's help in 2016
@@happiestaku6646 no. As @Blue Ronin Studios stated above, it's been confirmed by multiple people working on the movie that it's *not* in reference to Rhodey.
@Stef Furness except it is, the beginning of Doctor Strange takes place around the time of Civil War, which is 2016. This means that the only person it can be is Rhodey.
This is my favorite Marvel movie so far for one reason only: the hero defeats the bad guy by bugging the shit out of it until it agrees to leave and never come back.
As a Surgical Tech, Dr Strange is still considered "nice," as a neurosurgeon. The ones I work with around in my town, are aholes, but i still have full respect for them 😀
I feel you about the car accident bit. I had a car accident on Memorial Day 2011. I was going a reasonable speed, only ~3 miles over the posted limit on a highway, at around 2pm on my way to work. No rain, no distractions; and the skid marks at the scene were only about 20 feet long, showing how little time I had to react. Another driver pulled across the highway from a cross-street, into my path. Both cars totalled, and my left wrist (wearing a watch) left a baseball sized hole in the corner of the windshield. The stainless steel backplate of the watch was visibly dented, probably 1/8th of an inch. I had a few glass shards embedded in my hand, and one small bone shard from my wrist that worked its way out between my 2nd and 3rd knuckles about 6 months later. I still have a scar from the largest piece of glass; along with the memory of slamming on the brakes, feeling the impact, with the rear of my mid-size sedan raising a foot or so into the air and slamming back down before the airbags deployed.
16:59 yeah, people are really stupid sometimes bro. I'm all like "dude, he's Doctor Strange and his whole thing is about "MAGIC", of course this is a CGI fest, you think practical effects can do any of this?" I can understand stand if it looked like crap, but it doesn't, people need to stop complaining when they don't even know what the hell they're complaining about.
This is one of my favorites. Great reaction! I would say Iron Man 1, Guardians 1, Dr Strange and Thor Ragnarok are the MCU movies I can watch over and over.
So here's a fun anecdote. Not everyone knows this, but before Mads Mikkelsen was an actor, he was a gymnast, acrobat, and dancer. Because of that, he's super athletic and really understands how his body moves in space. There was this one action scene in Doctor Strange that had a number of difficult marks for Mads to hit, as he had to be in the exact right spot and body position so that the light hit his knives just right. Scott Derrickson (director) and C. Robert Cargill (writer) have both said they'd show him a new mark exactly once, and he hit it every time.
Watching the MCU in chronological order instead of release order is akin to watching all of the flashback scenes in a movie before watching the rest of the movie.
release order is story order btw. some of the earlier movies will spoil some of the later movies in the timeline that were meant to be unveiled in a specific fashion. timeline order is meant for people who have already watched the mcu once imo.
18:18 What Doctor Strange magic is essentially them reprogramming the laws of physics and reality itself. They're essentially just saying "Yeah this world needs a shield in it right in front of me right now"
The guy that Strange struggles to fight, and gets stabbed by is famous stuntman, martial artist and actor, Scott Adkins! Dude is badass, and has his own TH-cam channel. Definitely worth checking out in your free time!
There are spoilers for the MCU if you watch it out of order, but you've already watched it out of order, so it's not that big of a deal. Black Widow spoils Endgame, for example if you watch it first, but you've seen Endgame. You can really watch any story out of order.
Civil War was before this. The scene where Strange is in the car he hears about some guy with a severed spine. That's War Machine. I think starting with Captain Marvel is a bit unwise. Not all stories are best told chronologically. Memento is one example but there are many more. Following release order is the best EXCEPT for Black Widow, that should come after Civil War. The issue you'll run into for one, is end credits hinting at things that don't come for a while and involve things you don't know about. There are things in Captain Marvel that reference others as Cameos but may not land as well. Outside of Captain Marvel and Black Widow. Release order IS chronological order (as long as you leave out the dumb "kid dressed as Iron Man is actually Peter Park nonsense Iron Man 2). Starting with Captain Marvel isn't that big of a deal, but you should ignore the post credits, also post credits after Infinity War won't make much sense or at least be less hype.
Thank you for reacting to both my favorite Marvel series (Wanda Vision) and my favorite Marvel movie (Strange) all in one week. I’m having a tough day but this made it so much better✨💫
I just found you a few days ago, and am binging your reactions to some of my favorite movies. I'm scared to see your reaction to The Last Dragon, lol. Don't know if it's gonna hold up well, so I haven't watched it again in adulthood. If you have never watched "Event Horizon," I highly recommend it. One of my all time faves.
I really liked Wong as Genghis Khan in Marco Polo, and Mordo as the operative in Serenity. So glad to see them with parts in the MCU, I love watching what are introduced as minor characters grow and thrive.
Benedict Wong was also in Sunshine, which is just a fantastic movie. Chris Evans is also in it. Chiwetel Ejiofor is in a bunch of other stuff, like Children of Men, and Love Actually. Both of them were in The Martian.
I guess you picked the right photo of you in the Chiron because the expression you were making is what made me click on your video to watch your reaction to Doctor Strange. You just said that you wanted to watch these movies in order of the story unfolding. But if that were true then you are a little off course. You also said you haven't seen the Thor films and at this point when Thor is talking to Doctor Strange, Thor and Loki are at the beginning of Ragnarok which is the third Thor movie so quite a bit into the Thor story line. God, I just checked for misspellings and realized I sound like a nerdy dude living in his mom's basement. Actually I really liked your reaction. It was genuine which is harder to find these days. I'll check out your page. Oh and if I haven't given it away already , I'm the mom in that scenario and I do have a nerdy kid living in the basement as well as the loft. 😂
Get some oil of oregano and quercitin supplements for that cold. The oregano will burn out that virus and the quercetin is in the vitamin C family but helps with allergies and respiratory health. Mads Mickelson is an awesome actor. His version of Hannibal Lecter almost out does Anthony Hopkins. HANNIBAL is an awesome serial killer show. It's darkly beautiful. And it's only 3 seasons, and well worth a watch.
The reason to do it in release order is because the end credit scenes set up the next movies. Do them out of order and you will be spoiled for future movies like the Thor end credit scene. It sets up one of his later movies. The story is told in release order, not in a timeline.
The Haunting of Hill House!!! If/when you watch that I'm going to love it! Love the new plan of themed days. Whatever you do is up to you. It will be watched and enjoyed after work by me. Lol.
I stumbled upon that Chuck Mangione vinyl in a record store. It was in the discounted used section. I wanted it cuz of the whole King of the Hill thing
The Notebook and The Time Traveller's Wife are two of the most famous Rachel McAdams movies. I was gonna say also Mean Girls but thats technically a Lyndsay Lohan movie. But all three are pretty good.
It's always bothered me that Strange used the Time Stone to save Wong in this movie and Thanos used it to resurrect Vision and take the Mind Stone in Infinity War, but Strange just sat there and watched Tony die even though he totally could've undone the fatal damage to his body without undoing the snap that wiped out Thanos and his army.
One thing about Strange's fight with Dormammu: according to the writers, he died and respawned over and over for CENTURIES and fully mastered his powers during that time, until dormammu gave up the assault. I can understand stand if it looked like crap, but it doesn't, people need to stop complaining when they don't even know what the hell they're complaining about.
This is one of my favorites. Great reaction!
I would say Iron Man 1, Guardians 1, Dr Strange and Thor Ragnarok are the MCU movies I can watch over and over.
That funk song at the beginning is called Shining Star by Earth, Wind and Fire... its a great funkin tune...
Hope you feel better soon Mel! Missed your vids but didn't know you were sick. Take your time recuperating 🙌
The random guy who fights strange in the institute is Scott Adkins, an amazing stunt man and martial artist. Very worth looking up.
18:18 What Doctor Strange magic is essentially them reprogramming the laws of physics and reality itself. They're essentially just saying "Yeah this world needs a shield in it right in front of me right now"
I almost died over “That dude got that nub magic”
naming all actors with great voices...
Andy Serkis: am i a joke to you?
great reaction.
Mel: “It’s the song from the Superbad intro!“
Me: “It’s the song from the Muppets in Space intro!“
The guy that Strange struggles to fight, and gets stabbed by is famous stuntman, martial artist and actor, Scott Adkins! Dude is badass, and has his own TH-cam channel. Definitely worth checking out in your free time!
12:45 there were many bizarre and marvelous things shown in the Doctor Strange movie, but none so bizarre as Benjamin Bratt not playing a cop.
fave character - the cape
Another great video. You really need to watch these in release order if you want to follow the story. It makes more sense that way
"You need to go get you a notebook" AHHH the irony cause literally Rachel McAdams
You wouldn’t believe the conversations during operations.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor both starred in 12 Years a Slave, I recommend a watch and reaction. A tough watch, but worth it by all eyes.
The cgi in this is much better than the second one lmao.
There are spoilers for the MCU if you watch it out of order, but you've already watched it out of order, so it's not that big of a deal. Black Widow spoils Endgame, for example if you watch it first, but you've seen Endgame. You can really watch any story out of order.
I couldn't believe he'd seen Endgame. Like he's seen all Dr strange's badass skills but hadn't seen the Dr strange movie
Dormammu, the all-powerful being of the Dark Dimension: (experiences deja vu)
Dormammu: yo wtf
I completely forgot about that 2nd end credit scene. Glad I got that refresher before I see the newer movie
You forgot James Earl Jones, one of the most iconic voices ever! lol
He doesn’t work at the hospital anymore but he’s still called Doctor Strange
I guess you picked the right photo
of you in the Chiron because the expression you were making is what made me click on your video to watch your reaction to Doctor Strange.
I loved to see Scott Adkins in the hospital fight scene. I'd wish he would finally get the recognition he deserves on the big screen :)
Great reaction 🔥the commentary gets me laughing every time
I think my two favorite Rachel mcadams roles I’ve seen is Irene Adler in Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey junior and Regina George in mean girls.
It’s funny when it comes down to it, Doctor Strange made the big bad rage quit.
Lol
I really, really liked Mordo's character in the movie. Chiwetel Ejiofor was so freaking charming!
Yo bro I will absolutely never get tired of your intro! I love it🤣
The Haunting of Hill House!!! If/when you watch that I'm going to love it! Love the new plan of themed days. Whatever you do is up to you. It will be watched and enjoyed after work by me. Lol.
Mell! We need your commentary on the sequel ❤
I stumbled upon that Chuck Mangione vinyl in a record store. It was in the discounted used section. I wanted it cuz of the whole King of the Hill thing
Yo Mell your thumbnail game is strong. So many people have terrible low-effort thumbnails but yours always make me want to click.
We need to have a “getting your Dr. Strange on” pun in the next movie.
Dr strange is a pretty DAMM good movie. I enjoyed the sequel as well but they cut out a little too much from it.
