Is ICL safe though? I have flat cornea and dry eyes.

There is none to minimal effect of ICL on dry eyes and since it does not change the cornea, flatness is not an issue. It is fairly safe when done properly on the thoroughly screened candidate.

@doctorilancohen hi Dr, is it true that cataract can arrive earlier with icl evo.

@@ultimatefreedom3138 It was true for previous models and previous ways of implantation (the product itself wasn’t finished yet and had a rather rough way of installing it with 3 cuts needed). This is where most of the „bad press“ came from and the stigma of earlier cataract.
Most of it can be traced towards the implantation method.
Today most modern clinics do one nearly instantly healing 1,8mm cut and orientate it from there with very limited amounts of gel injected (so there are also basically no incidents of high pressure as well).
The modern model of EVO/+ with Aquaport has no confirmed rates cataract formation any more (since its introduction over 10 years ago).
The risks are from the experience of the surgeons themselves.
My clinic (which is one of the leading in this field of study) species a flat rate of „increased accumulated risk of cataract“ by up to ~1% for every 10 years. (Increased risk does not mean increased guaranteed early cataract.)
Those are the rates that are stated towards insurance - not the rates observed in the population as of now.

@@ultimatefreedom3138 the older models of ICL did indeed slightly increase the risk of cataracts. The newer generation model have introduced modifications that minimized this effect. Is, can I tell you that it’s zero? No. Everyone gets cataract if they live long enough.

    Why is Evo more expensive?

It is an intra-ocular procedure. Meaning that we enter the eye. More skilled operation than LASIK and longer. The lens is also expensive and there are the operating room expenses.
