My anvil stand is a stump, and my anvil is a rail road track plate because I can't afford an anvil. Being a broke college student sucks, but you got to make what you have work. Keep up the amazing videos Roy, you are my mentor and fountain of knowledge! God Bless you and your family.

Thanks for your walk around - it was a great compliment to Black Bears video., My son and I are working up ideas for a stand for his anvil and seeing these are a big help.

    John

A ton sitting on 3 little legs...lol. what a set up Mr. Roy.
I've watched you use the C shaped butcher tool(?) many times and I like it so ima kinda copy it in the future. By my eye it let's u use it in 2 basic planes and thier tangents. Seems way more versatile than the smaller single plane tool. Shout out to Mr. John as I'd watched a procedure in one of his videos that spurned the thought then remembered seeing the one you use.
Yall are great inspiration for me no doubt.
    Blessed days sirSir, Crawford out

John was part of my wrought iron collab I did last year. I may get a chance in the future to collab with him again.

Nice little set up Roy! I figured you wouldn’t have any storage on the standing side but cool to see what you do!

Hi Roy, do you have a video showing how to make your mechanical hold down?

This is the video Roy made around his style of hold down tool: th-cam.com/video/0yRYTPPkJcQ/w-d-xo.html . It isn't a walk through, but I hope it helps. Sincerely, Jessica

Chris, may I ask a question? I am headlong into building my coal forge out of half inch steel plate coal placement top with a firebox in the center and blown up through the middle with my clinker crusher and downhole in the center as most everyone else does. My difference is that I want to build a three by five brick table piped through with terracotta six by six inch fired oversized plpe with the void filled with red clay and sand. My hood is over all of this and vents pretty well. My question is this... I have never seen a bonafied Smith use a brick built up hearth. Is there anything wrong with this design?

Anvil stand is something I need to make. The farriers stand wanders about to much.
