I heard from my brother about this, he said that the dm is a female and said for a courage boost I should watch it. I’ve just started DMing my own campaign and am the only female amongst my friend group to try. My party says I’m doing a good job, yet sometimes I’m still really nervous. Late to the party here, but just starting this series after being really into the TFS D&D series. Never been into or dabbled in anything D&D related outside of starting the TFS series, but so far loving this series too.
RufusKyura yeah. My first experience was sadly a female GM that made a dragonborn (but wouldnt let me be a tabaxxi cuz...idk actually), could 'smell gold' that i stole, made herself a main character with 1 level above us, and she killed my character because i missed 3 sessions due to my father having a heart attack. Not the 'lets jill the character so he doesnt worry' kinda deal but the 'wtf why isnt he here' kinda deal. Wound up throwing a BF when a player complained, did a TPK and told them to jot be her friend IRL anymore.
If you like this, you might like to watch Critical Role. They started streaming their sessions about halfway through their first campaign, which is around 115 episodes, and are about 30 odd episodes into their second campaign
Tomorrow is their last episode. Seeing them where they started to where they are now and remembering everything inbetween, this has been a helluva ride. Whatever happens tomorrow, thank you Monty for telling such a wonderful story. Thank you, cast, for constantly taking that story and derailing it in the best ways possible.

This has been a series that has become very dear to my heart. It got me though my final year of college, a job search, first job, car accident and many more. The people and characters have always given me a big smile, times full of laughs, and inspired me to draw more dnd art as well a learn how to play. It has gotten be some new friends and helped reconnect with old ones too ^^!! I can never thank that unexpectables enough for all the memories through these year - I truly wish nothing but the best for all heading forward! And with the show entering into its final sessions I thought it would be great time to rewatch and relive the episode that pulled me into this amazing world ^^!!

looking back on ep 1 is such a trip. im glad i did tho. I'm very proud of gaijin and his evolution during this game and how he plays, i used to find him VERY grating and a bit of a narrative hog but he's improved and made such a good arc for mister greckles. i love you bird.

Coming back here a few days before the very last episode, I have to say it makes everything they've done since this first episode all the more amazing. Watching this again feels so unreal, I watched this campaign week from session 20 to 200, and coming back to watch it a second time. I love you guys! (Also hearing Monty's voice is amazing you can tell from this game and right now how much she has grown XD)
Mmmm, seeing a kenku reminds me of my pyromancer, Crackle. First thing she did was stop a barfight instantly using burning hands. The orcs all died but I mean, they threw a chair at us.
I rewatching this for the first time! I'll see if I can catch anything the Unexpectables may have forgotten! Also, meeting Willow for the first time! So beautiful!! And Monty mentions the rivalry with Artimis and that other dude as early as this episode!!! Top tier DMing!

I'm also in a current 5e campaign as a human ranger that has a pet albino giant wolf spider, with the rest of the party consisting of a tiefling paladin, a fire genasi wizard, and a furbolg druid (was a half-orc druid previously, but rejoined his clan after being reunited with them) that are currently hunting down a deranged elvish necromancer and his posse of undead.
I wasn't ready nearly a year ago...I had to give up part way but now after binging the TFS Natural Oneders i am now ready to binge...oh fuck. 47 episodes? welp there goes the rest of my month.

Monty's demeanor has changed so much over this first year. I didn't notice until I came back to rewatch the series after their first anniversary.

Coming back here a few days before the very last episode, I have to say it makes everything they've done since this first episode all the more amazing. From just the sound quality and character development, I think it all makes me love this series so much more and appreciate all the hard work and fun they had and shared with us

I'm also in a current 5e campaign as a human ranger that has a pet albino giant wolf spider, with the rest of the party consisting of a tiefling paladin, a fire genasi wizard, and a furbolg druid (was a half-orc druid previously, but rejoined his clan after being reunited with them) that are currently hunting down a deranged elvish necromancer and his posse of undead.
