    Great job of outlining exactly what is needed to do a simple shallow water well. You do a good job of reducing to the essence so a generally handy Joe Blow can connect all the dots. Thank you for your efforts.

    Hi TCF I was the newbie 3 years ago who asked for this video and list !!! Well my well is still working very well BUT I often pump it dry with the hand pump but it’s still great for veggie watering I’d wish I could source a tiny very slow drip solar pump to fill the big tank slowly whilst the suns shines then I could just dump can in and then water away maybe a challenge for this very smart man? Thanks for you advice three years ago Chris

      Glad it helped. Some wells only have so much water to offer.Perhaps collecting the water in a storage tank and then using a soaker hose could help.

    Thank you for that detailed Design.. I have a shallow well (Electric pump) in my back yard put in long before I bought the place in 2012 with a 38' x 18' pool in back. Last year I was adding water and left it for awhile and the Motor burned up because the 13-15' well went dry..(I thought so anyways). also..the casing pipe had no top seal and the pump would often lose prime.
    I couldn't find a 3" Well cap so I tried diff methods after replacing the Pump and making sure the well had water again. No Luck... Pump loses prime.
    Replacing the casing with a 4" casing and starting over. I was unsure about how much Pea Gravel to put in or whether to use a Plug on the casing bottom (Yes..in my case) Wish me Luck! Thanks for what you do...

      Sounds like you have a plan. Capping the casing pipe helps it stay cleaner. Good luck.

    Thanks, very interesting informations. May I ask, do you think that water with this shallow well could be suitable to drink?

    • @TigerCreekFarm
      @TigerCreekFarm  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Always assume it is unsafe to drink unless it has been tested otherwise.

    Not sure of you would know or could point me in the right direction but i have an old 100ft well that generally has water 10ft below surface... But no pump or electric on property could a pitcher pump be utilized? I'll probably be looking at a small dc pump to utilize solar at some point but just wanting for small livestock ect. Thank you awesome vids!!!

    • @TigerCreekFarm
      @TigerCreekFarm  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Christopher Cain you can pump water up 25 ft with a pitcher pump. You could put a 25 ft pipe with a foot valve on a pitcher pump and you’d be in business.

    Is there possibility of not having pvc as material and have another type of material ?

    • @TigerCreekFarm
      @TigerCreekFarm  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely. At one point metal was your only option. PVC is the cheap alternative.
