Thats not possible! The hair being shaved is vellus hair and does not grow back thicker or darker, it grows back the same. Only way there’s going to be a 5:00 shadow is if they actually have a beard or they have something going on health wise.. So from medications, different health conditions, PCOS, etc. vellus hair/peach fuzz does not turn into a beard, it won’t get darker or prickly, etc.
You should apply some gel or a shaving foam, at least soap to do dermaplaning. Shaving your skin while it's dry will let it irritated easily. And if you do this more often your skin will become darker due to irritation

The powder thing though… that may be a trend… Definitely not recommended, you should be using something calming that has a little bit of a slip.

There's a reason why we have fuzz, which is to protect our skin among others, and the trapping is why we use skincare products. If you shave, especially without talking to your doctor which a lot of these people neglect doing, it can absolutely cause breakouts and irritation. Then you'll be purchasing more products just to solve that problem.

This is purely a social media product. Like don’t get me wrong dermaplaning is god for your skincare! But just lather on some shaving cream. You’ll get a much smoother surface to pull the blade across. The colored powder doesn’t look like it helps the shaving process in anyway and I’ve seen some influencers even say it gets chalky and hinders the shaving. It’s just a product designed to get gasps and hit at our insecurities because “omg look at all the baby hairs!!” No one needs this product. It doesn’t help the process of derma planing. It just looks intense on video.
