I don't know about the other places, but Durand is a bunch of bull lol. I go there all the time night or day. I know the history and where the story of, "The Lady in White" comes from. Too many people think they see her on the old stone wall that used to be a dining hall where park visitors would eat and drink. For some reason they think it's her old house lmao. The cemeteries in rochester are pretty cool though! I definitely believe a couple of those to be haunted and the main street armory. I love the armory I go to reptile expos there. :) I miss REXPO! 10-Mount Hope Cemetery-most people only see a fog when it's not a foggy day or a blistering hot midday. What they don't see is the multi-eyed deer that's the genus loci and will chase people down if at night they're clearly there for the wrong reasons-even off the cliffs in the back. Right across from Strong Memorial Hospital. Psychiatric Center-my father worked as a trashman until the night he went out on a full moon and watched fog roll out of one of the abandoned buildings, deer appear in it, then the fog get sucked right back in and the deer with it. What's more is a patient had warned him beforehand. Quit soon after that.

I slept off a night in Mt. Hope and I know I saw the ghost of Susan B. Anthony... or I was really hung over. I passed out over by her memorial and an old stren looking lady kicked me awake asked if I would make it. I grunted something, half thinking it was a cop, and when i looked up she was turning away and walking down the path into nothing. Who knows. I was a kid and drinking hard. Remember when drinking was the problem with kids...

I've lived in Rochester NY my whole life and The White Lady's Castle is a very popular, " (urban) Legend " . It freaked me out as a teenager when I first heard about it and of course, there's always more than one version of the story. No matter, it wasn't until I was in my 20's that I was brave enough to go check it out with some friends at night and I didn't see anything, but I most definitely felt a presence/energy all around the wall. That's what's left of the said castle that was once there. Took some pics and there were a lot of orbs and what looked like smoke, aaaaand nobody was smoking 😳 ... Fun times

GhostQuest USA recently, my family has all heard running in the thouse. Running up the stairs and down the hall where our bedrooms are. Our home was rebuilt after a fire a few years ago, so you would think that the previous “haunting” experience would stop but, no. The running was heavy and sounded like it had purpose. I, not smartly checked all the rooms and even attic with a weapon, my brother and I heard it at the same time as I did and he and my husband were in the room. My mother was just getting home and can’t move fast let alone, climb stairs do to sickness. I even, not be sure, asked her if she was upstairs at all but she wasn’t. A few days later we were out of the house but my mother was home. She woke up to the sound of the same running I described but as it passed our rooms, our parakeet started flipping out.

GhostQuest USA no it was our house fire. But before the fire we’ve experienced paranormal activity as well. On several occasions I would feel a hand push me and I’d fall down the stairs. I’ve been attacked and so has everyone else isn’t the family when I was younger. And someone who didn’t know our circumstances yes later that was spiritual, saw demonic activity outside the house and warned me but I was like girl, I already knew. I just pray and rebuke now that I’m more spiritual because whenever someone gets more spiritual and living with people that aren’t and aren’t watching for things they consume (media, certain people that have or practice stuff etc) they attract it. I still have a long ways to go though 😭

My last day at Aquinas is in Monday and I did theatre so we talk a lot about Victoria. When I was in 7th grade, I was told to never say the name of a specific show that Victoria was going to be in, or you would be cursed for your next performance. I decided to say it and lost my voice and the whole cast was real sick during every performance for that show.
Victoria tends to mess around with stuff backstage and there is even a handprint of hers up in the toolshed. She comes out mostly during tech week and this year, she moved to the board and was messing with the lights a bit.
She’s not really mean but a little creepy if you hear her when it’s dark backstage. 🌚

I worked as a security guard at the Eastman House in the 80s. I pulled evening shifts quite often and had to cover the entire property (from attic to basement- including among other places, Mr Eastman's bedroom, the breezeway, and the west & east gardens). As creepy as it way at night, I never experienced a single instance involving the paranormal. If it were truly haunted, I would surely have seen or heard something in all those rounds. So, the tales are either BS, or people's overactive imaginations. Sorry. (not shooting the messenger here, btw) :)

The house, cemetery, and the bridge are all paranormal hotspots, but most everything is out there. The house was once used as a hospital/hospice back in the time of Marcus Whitman (who was born across the street). It later became a nursing home and hospice, and now it is divided into four apartments, in which I once lived. In the basement there is a cement room that has no doors or windows and is accessible only through a hole in the concrete where pipes had once gone through the wall. Inside the room (as kid, when we widened the hole to access the room and my friend, who also lived there in another apartment, climbed in), there was little to see but stagnant water, but also there were gouges in the cement, like some strongly clawed creature tried clawing it's way out, but that's the conclusion of a kid who was in a state of terror, so who knows? I had almost consistent ghost activity in that house, as did many of the people that lived there that I knew over the years. Next door to there is a cemetery, guarded in the front by a large statue of Marcus Whitman. Marcus and Narcissa Whitman were murdered by Natives out in Washington, where they are buried, and I think this may may be linked to some of the hauntings, but I have never heard of a direct apparition of either if the Whitmans.
The cemetery next door has been the site if congregations of dark robed entities that are assumed to not be human (given their ability to seemingly translocate, instill fear and, for those that have gotten close enough, the empty blackness under their deep dark hoods). I once saw them stand, glaring, in a large congregation and with your he's in the part of my side yard between the cemetery and the house. These entities are also associated with the bridges that dot the tendrils of small water ways in the area. Many people, myself included, have witnessed hooded entities under those bridges, though no one, as far as I know, has any idea why they frequent there. As for the cemetery, itself, it has lots of fucked up stuff going on with it. For example, the gravestones go into the woods beside it. I was once told the bodies of the people where the stones go into the woods were relocated into the cemetery proper, but theres no plots to be found for any such relocated bodies and the stones are still there. I have theories, but they are mostly speculative. I hope all this got has interested you. This is but the tip of the iceberg on the turtle's back and it's turtles all the way down. There has been efforts for revitalization and they have been quite nice, actually. That said, it was always a tight lipped community that was content with it's terrors in the night. There's "high strangeness", to quote Art Bell, everywhere out there, but I honestly recommend night ventures into the woods. I've never known anyone to not come out totally, but everyone, including myself, left something in there. Fuck, man. I'm sweating frozen bullets over here and I'm glossing over so much. Good luck.

He used to ride a red bike downtown almost every day and hang out at the McDonald's and drink coffee with a group of people, one of which was me. I didn't know him well, but he gave me a ride in the little blue car once, let me off at the bus stop in front of where he worked on Main Street. We chit chatted about nothing in particular.
