Great coach, no excuses! He's building great people, not just athletes. Salute Coach Lee!
I think those kids showed great character and spirit. The battled through adversity. Love this coach. No wonder why his runners are so successful on and off the track.
💯
If I run into this Wilson kid I'm asking for an autograph. We need to give him his flowers now. He's a once in a lifetime talent.
You can tell Coach Lee has a great deal of respect for his athletes and the sport. Awesome interview!
Totally agree!
Who doesn't love coach lee...stand-up guy...
Great effort today
Coach Lee you are a great leader and motivator to your students I can tell. Your response to the misfortunes your team suffered is awe inspiring. Much respect from all of us in Jamaica !!! Bullis is the kind of competitor that we appreciate as they push and by so doing bring out the best in our athletes. We look forward to competing with you for the years to come. See you in Maryland at the Puma Meet next month.
The Best Teams produces the best competition. Respect, to Bullis. Coach, remember Obea Moore
I like this couch he his very fearless and he speaks the truth love u sir am a Jamaican and we need the competitions we need to pray for our children they are very talented God bless all the clean couch them
Respect from Jamaica Coach
We need coach like this man very intelligent and he know about sports love him❤
Coach Joe Lee, you handled defeat with class. I hope your athletes take a page from your book!
Excellent Interview, Coach lee is a special Coach ,not just on but off the track too, you can see this in the context of his interview, very articulate great example for his student athletes.
Wish we had more coaches like this as role models for our student athletes in Jamaica.
You have a hell of a program coach. To have the boys in contention to break the US record in the 4×4 and the girls having already broken the 4×4 record twice is phenomenal. Without the fall, I know Bullis would have won the boys 4×4 as neither KC or JC replicated anywhere close to their 3.07 and 3.08 that they ran at the Jamaican champs. My alma mater, JC, was missing personnel from that 3.08 team, but the phenom that is Quincy would only be pulled to run faster by teams running sub 3.10.
Great program for sure
Well said Coach.
Well said coach...
Everyone in that Stadium knows Quincy is special and they would have won without the trips
Would have been a crazy finish for sure!
Yes Quincy definitely would have one. I pray and trust that he stay healthy.
@@wint4516 "IF" a coulda/woulda - KC has many "ifs" as well.
Big up yuhself coach lee...
Great Coach
This yrs Peen games was a dog fight and thats what the sports is all about congrats to all regardless of win or not it takes guts/strength to show your face at penn relays ,looking forward to nxt yr
If they implemented a minimum qualifying time, less teams would be there and they can run the 1st leg in lanes, it's ridiculous to place so many runners on the starting line especially for the long sprints like 400 and 800
That's how they make their $$ though. High school kids make up 80% of the Penn Relays athletes (I'm just guessing 80%). You cut down the high school entries and there is way less athletes (which means way less families coming) which means less money spent.
The bottom line, Jamaica is sweeping this thing with their B team.
If that fall hadn't happen, I think it would be a different outcome, they're all good runners kudos to them all
@@islyrevans295thats garbage 😂 we where in the lead didn't need to run that hard he ran his life out look back at the race he's head falling back arms all over feet going every witch way
Emphasis on B team thank you
The Relays were 🔥 this year
An amazing Penn Relays for sure!
wait, coach Lee! what puma meet were you referring to? i wanna tune it to that!
It’s in Landover, MD tomorrow at the PG Sports & Learning Complex. I think MileSplit has the coverage if you can’t make it in person.
FRIGHTENING ---- THEY WILL ALL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!!!
Coach Lee, My son is only 2 yr old, but I want to know how long you'll be coach for, I would love for you to coach my son in high school.
😂Not sure I’ll be around that long but if I am let’s go!!! 😎💪🏾
By the way, Bullis would have won if there had not been a mishap, Wilson would not have been denied yesterday. True too, the Jamaican teams were just about average compared to teams in the recent past.
3:11 high school boys is nowhere near "average"
@@macjones9376 Compared to teams of the past it certainly is,but I understand why you take that view.
Take into consideration that the Jamaican high school track season ended over a month ago. These kids are now focusing on internal and external exams.
Also, KC ran 3:07 earlier this year. I only wish we could’ve seen a much smoother race because Bullis fell and KC stumbled on that same leg.
@@keshawnlilly1702 Not when they come to the Penn Relays!
These are weakest team send by Jamaica in long time believe it or not
How is bullis weak wtf💀
The Jamaican teams competed at Champs, then the next week a Carifa Games and another two weeks the Penn Relays. So three major competitions for the Jamaicans. What were the U.S. teams doing in the meantime? Which major competitions were they competing in before coming to Penn Relays?
Usually Jamaica sends a team of 20+ year olds to run against our teenagers.
@@rigging03That's a lie.
@rigging03 that is not true....no 20 year olds attend high school in Jamaica....nice try. We're a track obsessed nation since 1948.
H.S. Boys 4x4 is the only relay with prelims and finals same day.
Quincy looks more like a 1/2 miler. Whats his 800m time?
In his first 800 he ran 1:50
@@blasters5376 No Way!!
10 more meters, he would have won.
I will complain on the coach behalf. To me, something has to change. There was far too much contact, especially at the start line, whether at the start or exchange. And its not just about Bullis, although they will get the most attention but there were numerous falls, pushing and having to restart due to some if them. It seems like a serious injury waiting to happen especially with spikes and runners getting stepped on after falling. Whether its more control by the officials to maintain some order or reducing the number of teams per heat by merely two, something to address it may be worthwhile. I was in the stadium and couldn’t believe the amount of contact.
A tough call for sure
Maybe its planned. It only happen with his team. They intentionally shove the competitor
You must be new to track and field. I have been attending major track meets since 1969, and this sort of contact is pretty normal .
My response. Bring them to Texas relays. Now, you can see how you fare against some of the nation’s best.
No Texas needs to come to the Penn relays and run against the Jamaican . 🎉🎉🎉
They have a rematch against many of the same schools and other top schools in the nation next week
You must have never heard of Jamaica Highschool track teams.
If They were the best then they could easily prove it in possibly the best track meet for highschoolers! come with it Texas!
In the 4x4 boys the Bullis anchor heard the footsteps closing in on him and he glanced over to his right and saw JC and the other runner so close and he panicked, lost his balance and tripped over and that was when his concentration got disrupted which resulted in the fall as he lost the momentum. Track and field is not only about running fast but have to be mentally focused. I applauded him for finishing the race regardless of the misapp. Well done to all the athletes and I must say the Jamaican kids love these competitions. Whether they are in a friendly or hostile environment they are going to show up and perform. They have the heart of a lion.
What race did you watch because what you just described didn’t happen. The fall happened on the 3rd leg and Bullis was in 3rd or 4th when handing off. Did I watch the wrong race?
Let’s be clear Jamaica had some questionable activity and unsportsmanlike behavior in the exchange lines. The first kid in the lineup flaling his arms around was from 2 of the Jamaicans and 1 or 2 of the American kids in that same lineup started aggressively pushing other runners it caused a lot of the chaos in the exchange zone so let’s not paint a narrative that clearly caught on tape.
BULLIS GIRLS KNOCKED THE BATTON FROM EDWIN ALLEN HANDS PLUS BULLIS ANCHOR TRIED TO CUT IN ON THE HYDEL RUNNER AND HYDEL WASNT NO ROOKIE SHE SAID GET OFF ME 😂, BULLIS MEN JUST GOT INTO A DOG FIGHT, IT HAPPENS IF YOU RUN LONG ENOUGH !!! RESPECT TO BULLIS BOYS BUT JAMAICA WI SEH !!!😭😭🕷
It was close all around. Next year will be good
True.
I went to college with that man.
Quincy is the star of their team. I just don't understand how they could fall twice in one day. Without the fall, they could've won.
I think they were tripped both times. Some tom foolery going on in these races.
Would have been a great finish with no fall
@@imhereforitall9218first time was an american team and honestly was a weak fall if you ask me... second time the jamaican fell and the runner from bullis was looking behind him when he moved off and fell over him...
If you pay attention though the runner from KC also got tripped and lost about 2meters in the lead. So aint no way to know for sure that with no tripping it wouldnt have played out the same.
@@datname1939 Sure, if you want to make yourself believe that. Again, but for Bullis falling the race would have turned out differently. So technically, Bullis actually won. They need to place an * next to the team that crossed the finish line first because they did not win organically.
@@imhereforitall9218 it's okay if you're biased fam, just know bullis is far cry away from being the best. Having one guy isn't enough.
Excelsior should have been dq'ed
There was pushing and shoving all around. Not just Excelsior
@@shelleyalexander954 Excelsior is team that laid out in front of Bullis and impeded them.
@@dajosco115Stop yuh bloodcaat noise & take your bumboclaat L.

Thats not phenomenal buddy!!
It depends on what your standard is. Our standard is not about wins and losses. It’s about togetherness, resilience, and character.
