- It was a story that mobilized a province. A 10-year-old girl gone without a trace from a Montreal neighbourhood. Jolene Riendeau was last seen at a local convenience store.
Twelve years later, her remains were unearthed near a bridge. Now, more than two decades later, her parents are still searching for answers.

Canadian citizens need a PUBLIC REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY.
Official responsibility regarding child safety protocols, are not being done; as seen by the repeat offenders of child sexual abuse.
I’m just trying my luck pppppppppppppppppp
Everywhere does. I wonder how much it would reduce these cases, if there was one.. 🤔
I’m from Quebec and grew up during the 90’s. I will never forget Jolene Riendeau🙏🏻
OMG JOLENE!!!
Je me souviens d’elle très bien❤
Idem :)
How SAD and awful that the predator got away with rape and murder 😮😢!!!
Ouiiii c’étaient un temps sombre 😢
Amazing strength this mother has. To lose a child has to be the hardest thing. Loved that she went and knocked him down after court ❤ good for her. Rip Jolene
What a great lady Dolores is ! Not a lot of parents admits to their kids bad behaviour! My heart goes to you and your family Dolores❤️❤️. Coming from a mom as well.
If a child is out of control at age ten it’s because the parents dropped the ball. If a child goes missing because she has been raised to fend for herself and because the parent didn’t bother to even think about where she was for 6 hours and then didn’t do anything for three more that’ on the parent. You’re blaming the TEN year old child and praising the mother in this case?
@@sallyh.6362 chill. no where does the original poster blame the child. yes, the child showed some "bad behaviour" - but the post is not about where that "bad behaviour" originated from. it's just a fact. and the mother - better than sugarcoating everything - admitted to these facts. were you able to talk to her, i'm sure she'd even admit to the mistakes she and her husband made in bringing up jolene. all parents make mistakes. i've had parents, and i am a parent. some of us are just lucky, lucky, lucky that nothing like this happens to us. despite our mistakes.
@@MegaSmk The mother admitted to drug use and partying. Jolene's behaviour was a result of that and some neglect.
Wow this case brought me to tears. I was not a perfect mother by any stretch. So I do feel for Dolores. Very sorry for the loss of your precious daughter. This episode was so well done by everyone.
Rest in Peace Sweet Jolene! What a relief you are in the arms of Jesus baby girl. ❤ 🙏
My eyes are about to cry 😢😢😢😢
Yes, heartbreaking.
Children don't need perfect mothers, dear Terri ❤️ we are just human, after all - we can give our children roots and wings, and love of course...material things can never replace love, imo.
terri, nobody is a perfect parent, that's life and not being perfect does not give the right for someone to kill a child. We all do the best we can and Im sure you did as well 👍❤
@russelbarns1737 you are absolutely correct. It took me years to accept the fact that my mother doesn't even like me. She may love me in her own twisted way, but she's a narcissist, and I experienced conditional love throughout my childhood. Today, I have healthy boundaries in place, and I keep her at arm's length. It works well for me. ❤️
So heartbreaking. I hope the family gets the justice they deserve.
Now that I Agree with 💯
Such a sad story 😢😢😢 R.I.P Jolene❤❤❤ Her mom is tough lady. Love her. Good on her for confronting him. I wonder if he killed anyone else ... he seems to have serial killer tendencies. Sick man .... they need to lock him up and throw away the key.
Heartbreaking story, RIP little angel 😇 prayers for your family and friends
He should be in prison for life.
The Prosecutor did not ask the Judge for a Designated Dangerous Offender Status. Unfortunately.
@@Elyssa_Wyldgive it a rest
He deserves more than life in jail thanks
Dolores Soucy may she find peace. I'm glad she got an absolute discharge. Hard to restrain yourself in this situation and I'm sure there is empathy. I really like Pina, the victim's assistance person....wow, so empathetic. She called Dolores a 'lioness' - she truly is!. So this guy, Lorrandeau has still not been charged?
System is trash here. They let out a murderer “guy turcotte” … so why would they charge anyone .. they set em free
Just because you were using at the time doesn't mean you didn't do your best at the time. You didn't deserve this and it wasn't your fault she was missing. Sometimes terrible things happen no matter what we do or don't do. You are so strong.
So happy she gave him a thump 😂❤ go Mama
Brave mama I wish you healing 🙏🏼. Rip Jolene.
I am a mother and I’m sobbing 😭 this is so sad 😢
I’m also crying … I remember her very well when she went missing . I participated myself in her search I put flyers 😢😢😢😢
Yes so am I a mother it is very heart breaking Aroha Mai to the family and friends
"Tried to open a tiktok account"! Chills, thinking about the ones that are free, never captured, unmonitored and online looking at kiddie content. 😖
The police dpnt even tell you that there are pedophiles living or are going to be living in your neighborhood thats just disgusting and so WRONG!!!!!! People and families have a right to know who's living in their neighborhoods!!! When it comes to those types you have the right to be notified of the living situation and who they are and wgat they've done and how dangerous they are!!!!!!!!!!! 🍁🇨🇦🍁💔✝️🛐🌹🕊️🙏❤️
Yes one in my building even… they have “rights” 🤡😡
It’s not the police’s fault that people are not notified that pedophiles are living in the community as it’s illegal to do so and you are blaming the very people that bend over backwards to keep everyone safe.
My deepest condolences to Dolores and her family. I cried, poor baby girl for sure she's in the arms of Jesus. RIP Jolene, much love from Toronto.
The Amber alert would not have applied in this case. She was not seen being kidnapped. They treated her like a run away and the alerts do not apply to run aways. 💔
Exactly. I was wondering why they thought that.
It didn’t then. Now Amber alert has changed . The child doesn’t need to be seen kidnapped in order to have Amber Alert.
@@Mscavalli2
Where? Cause in Atlantic Canada, they have to have reason to believe the child has been abducted or no alert is issued.
This woman has some strength and her daughter looked like a kid with a lot of character!
I'm just very surprised the parents waited until midnight to get worried and not call the police. It is very sad to see the story, like all other stories on Crime Beat
Yes, it’s hard to know without asking them directly. At 6:03 there is a mention of her having a prior history of running away for a few hours at a time. It’s always a huge red flag to me when kids run away- that might just be because of my history.
Her mother do drugs and all so neglected her as well. In my opinion she is responsible
Yes. A lot of children are left wandering without enough supervision. Parents or careperson being drunk, or stoned or asleep because working two jobs, etc.
Meanwhile, kids do not all get killed, but lots of them end up being injured, lured into drugs or s... assaulted, etc.
Common *_neglect_* is everywhere. Easy to understand that predators are easily spotting those unsupervised targets. Some kids are therefore more "at risk" than others, I guess.
She may have made some mistakes but not her fault some sick bastard took her daughter and killed her
@@2501meI ran away twice as a kid. My parents had nothing to do with it! At 11 yo I got cought stealing chewing gums at the local store. I did that as part of a dare to impress my then friends. My parents never laid hand on me. I knew my home was a safe one. I ran off because I was ashamed of myself.
I lived in Aylmer Quebec and out 10 years ago a middle aged man in a pharmacy took a 4 year old girl by the hand and tried to take her out of the store the girls brother who also was very young grabbed her by the other hand and wouldn't let go so the guy took off. I always wondered where that guy is I think it should be public information
You are exactly right. Those materials things mean nothing. I would rather be remembered being a nice person with integrity and character. No one will remember my home or the car I drove.
If he breached his parole conditions over 6 times, he should be in prison for the rest of his life. He’s a predator and he will never change. 😡
im from montreal , this is heartbreaking
Well done Dolores 👏👏 thank you from one such child that has never had justice x
Great coverage
Heartbreaking.
What a great mum!!!! What a wonderful woman Dolores is!!!!! 😮
I’m from Montreal, Kirkland precisely, will
Never forget these dark days 😢😢😢😢😢
She was ten, and she went to the store in the afternoon and her mom “noticed she wasn’t around at 9” And wasn’t worried til midnight…I had to go back and listen to the beginning again because I thought I must have misheard her age when mom said that.
Same😢
Mind your own business and stop judging people.
@@ElaAusDemTalwhose judging who now? She didn’t deserve for this to happen but she could have very likely prevented it. I think that’s a relevant message for people to take from this story. And maybe it is my business. Maybe I know what it’s like to be neglected by a mother who has dependency issues and stays in bed 23 hours a day, leaving her child to raise herself, and who was drunk half the time that she was paying attention at all. So I have SOME sympathy for the mom in this story. But I think it’s her daughter who should have most of it. She suffered the consequences of the choices of broken adults.
The mother admitted she was neglectful and on drugs, she was honest, no use in shaming her
Also it was different times, the fact that young children were out more alone was more normal then it is today.
Can see this channel climbing….
This was Just such a horrible thing to happen to this family and the violence that the dad has inflicted on all 3 is just truly devastating but the end of the story was absolutely beautiful and it made me cry, what a lovely fire-fighter and human to stay by this childs side and to then take on the responsibility of being his parent. Well done and that family is amazing.
I remember as a kid, her face on billboards on the highway. For years, they searched for her. Poor thing
So so sad
Rest in peace
What !!!! This sick monster was never charge for ger murder omg im so angry . God i pray there's justice for this little girl , pls lord do your miracles , pls give closure to this heartbreaking mother . Amen 🙏😢
So sad!
Predators are everywhere, is part of life, is the horrible thuth. The only thing we can do as a parent is take care, as much as why can, of our children❤
Stay strong for your other kids ❤❤❤❤
rip prayers to the family
beautiful young children being taken away from this world and parents
I remember this case and I live in Alberta, it was so sad 😢
32:24 I am sorry but did I just hear that the guy was RELEASED WITHOUT BEING CHARGED???? 😾🤯
Imagine how we could change the world if children were off limits everywhere. RIP little Angel
shame mum didnt have a gun
Shame mum didn’t care more about where her 10yo girl was and waited until midnight to report
@ElyssaWyld yeah I do have to wonder why she didn't like being at home so waa constantly running away
I would never ever let my children go anywhere on there own!!
you have to one day…it’s scary, but they need it to develop normally
*their
Mamma Soucey: wishing you and your family much love. You’re a strong soul and I see where you daughter got her strong spirit.
It’s beyond me how judges keep letting a violent pedos out. Those judges should also be charged. God bless you
I live in Montreal and yes she was a big name in the late 90's. The lachine canal goes for miles how did they check the whole canal.
A Case of my town … so sad and horrible
Bit too much talking by the mother … the viewers (IMO) prefer the program to focus more on the case itself and what the police and detectives think and do.
Yes 'you dont touch children '.
Am a father ive broke down crying what if it was my daughter,,
It’s not unheard of for someone with his proclivity for assaulting grown women to also have assaulted a minor. But it is fairly rare. We need more details. His age and physical condition when commenting these assaults. It could be that all of a sudden assaulting a child appealed to him because he was of weakened condition either because of age or health. Hard to say. But being unwilling to take a polygraph is highly suspicious.
Wasn't he also convicted of assaulting girls, not just grown women? I thought they had said that.
My son and her were born on the same day
Then again I wouldn’t trust SPVM doing lie detector
A father shot a man who raped and killed his son, he got 2 years,
Dolores 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼💔🙏🏼 Jolene vous aime … elle aime sa maman. She always will
Promising young life lost Canada mourns Jolene Riendeau rest in peace David Sanchini catechist St-Brendan's catechetical program
I remember this case and at the time, my mother was judging Jolene’s mother for letting her out on her own this late on top of it as Jolene was only 10. I wasn’t really agreeing nor was I disagreeing with her statement then but now that I am a mother of a 9 year old daughter and almost 11 boy. Yeah I understand why my mom said what she said although it served and serves no purpose to the grieving mother or any parent ( s ) losing a child. Her remains were found in 2011 but to this day, no suspect…:/
To bad there wasnt cameras back then like now alot easier to figure out who did it
There's only one person to blame for this fuckery, and it's not the mother!!!
Canadian police and justice system are a pain in the neck. They protect the criminals and let the victims and their families suffer as a result of soft enforcement and hesitant justice system.
Why hasn't this guy been charged?
Let a jury decide!
He IS the killer.
Mom is not wrong about him!
I hate these stories with no conclusions 😐. I want my 45 mins back Plesse!!
😢 💔
God their bloody voices are putting me off!
I can't listen to this one. 10 years old!
Truly heartbreaking. RIP Jolene XO Much love to her family & friends.
You mean that police commander cannot speak English?
What have the french got to do with this crime
Withouth the amazing host; A new to Rawbutt, these episodes would be unwatchable.
🙏💜
❤
10 year old wandering around without adult supervision. Time to start holding the people responsible who are not parenting responsibility. May e that will stop these stranger abductions
🙄
She lookss likr the disney actress
Spoilt child thought she knew better than her parents ... thought she was so street smart and cool ....never lived to LEARN from her mistakes ....
there's always a bunch of wackos
Where is the DNA
there wasn't enough dna to do any testing.
When did you start getting really concerned? Midnight 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ …… it’s a shame you don’t need to pass any exam or get a license or anything to have kids.
Who the hell waits until midnight to report a 10 year old child missing???
You clearly missed the comment about not judging. God forbid you ever find yourself in that situation.
@CDN1975 You're right- it is judgemental. All people are- it's human nature. But prevention is better than cure, therefore I stand by my comment. And God forbid this should happen to anyone at all.
😂😂❤😂❤
Made an account on tiktok lol really now
Not a great mother. Sad consequences.
😂😢
Would Jolene be alive if mommy wasm’t using drugs?
No.
And they don't search for aboriginal mmiw. ? Too bad that this happens. But idgaf till some of ours are sought with results
more often than not mmiw are victims of both their own life choices and people within their own aboriginal communities
@@CanadianOC-lw1rl I've heard that rumor as well. But factually and honestly. Look again
