I’m going on my first cruise and it’s to Alaska in about a week! I’m so excited but had no idea what to wear or expect so this was super helpful. Thank you 🤍
My main concern was the layers! I ended up over packing SO MUCH! This will depend on when you're cruising, but for late June I didn't need my puffer jacket at all. I wore it once on the balcony, but could have easily worn my rain jacket. Our Glacier Bay day was warm enough for me to be in short sleeves! I wish I had not stressed so much about what to wear and only brought a couple of sweaters instead of all of them! 😂
We leave in 5 days for our first Alaska cruise. We are going on a cruise tour with Princess and think we are ready thanks to videos like the ones you do! Thank you!!
I noticed that the HUMTTO Men's All-Terrain Waterproof Hiking Shoes that you mentioned in one of your previous Alaska videos, are 32% off right now. At least they are today anyway. I'm glad I waited a little bit. I was going to get them last week but procrastinated. so now I saved $20. 4 more weeks to our Alaska cruise!
Thank you for this information, we're heading there next summer on a cruise. We're arriving in Vancouver late at night, so off to hotel to sleep first night, then have next day to explore, then following day we embark. Can you recommend any hotels near the cruise port in Vancouver that won't break the bank? (would love the Pan Pacific Hotel, but so expensive!) Thank you.
Hotels in Vancouver are so expensive! Last year we stayed at the Westin Wall Centre in Richmond. This year we’re staying at the Delta hotels in Gastown. Way closer to Canada Place with way more to do.
Just got back from an Iceland cruise. Consider how much inside space there is on the ship. If it is anything like our cruise the outside spacers saw very limited use which made the crowds inside busier than normal.
Thanks for sharing❤I’m heading North to Alaska soon going to places like Tracy Arm and Prince Rubert BC with 4 nights/3 sea days from San Francisco until the first port in Skagway. An interesting 11 day itinerary. Pier 27 in SF is very easy to board if you arrive earlier around 10am. I found Vancouver a not so fun place to board. Hoping to sail on Star Princess to Alaska❤ @ngie #loveboatcruising
You will be okay! While there may be a few more seafood related items in the buffet and in the main dining room- They’ll still have their nightly rotation of other items everywhere. You’ll always probably be able to find chicken beef, vegetarian, pork, Asian, and things like that.!

That’s a good point
FYI. NCL’s docking area is not at the town of Ketchikan. It’s actually about 7 miles away from the town.
You’re referring to Ward Cove?

How do I get the list
My main concern for not cruising Alaska yet is that I have a seafood allergy. Am worried that it is going to be hard to find non seafood meals.
You will be okay!

My husband doesn’t eat seafood either. He was completely fine. There are tons of options.
Is elegant dinner night actually elegant?
Depends on the ship ,but usually YES! it's just that alaska tends to be SO much more casual due to the weather.
