Recently, the Supreme Court had issued a notice to the Centre on the 'caste-based survey' conducted in Bihar. Now the Central Government has filed its affidavit and responded to it. In the affidavit filed, the government has said that only the Centre has the right to conduct the census. The Centre has claimed that the census is a statutory process, and the process is governed by the 'Census Act, 1948'.
In other section, After the success of Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO has announced the launch date of Surya mission. This mission is being launched by ISRO today i.e., on 2 September. This mission named 'Aditya L-1' is the first Indian space mission to study the Sun. Along with that, ISRO shared a new update related to Chandrayaan-3. In this new information, the presence of many types of chemical elements on the surface of the moon has been confirmed. Preliminary studies have claimed the presence of oxygen, aluminium, sulphur, calcium, iron, chromium, and titanium on the lunar surface.
