    The problem I had with BOTH my 99 civics was that it seized inside the bushing and NOT the area where the threads are connected. But this method does work, the only downside is loss of time and energy especially in the heat of the day lol

    Thanks a bunch man! I was having a fucking nightmare getting that last bolt out, borrowed some gt-85 and started working on it after a day and it all came together. Awesome!

    Machinist's Workshop magazine tested penetrants for break out torque on rusted nuts. I use liquid wrench too because it's 1/4th of the price of Kano Kroil. Here are the results from their test.
    None ..................... 516 pounds
    WD-40 .................. 238 pounds
    PB Blaster ............. 214 pounds
    Liquid Wrench ..... 127 pounds
    Kano Kroil ............ 106 pounds
    ATF-Acetone mix....53 pounds

      Pie Eyed I use a product from Halfords in the UK called Shock and Unlock which works well for me on my Range Rover suspension arms in general. My rear track control arm inner bolts had to be cut off at either end with a power hacksaw as they had completely rusted into the bushes the extent that a tech trying to adjust the tracking broke his impact socket in the fight. A 1 mm cut off disc would also work well if you can get the tool in there.

    Shit like this is the reason I quit working on cars! I wouldn't be so bad if you could find the bolts you need after you cut them out. Seems like dealerships never have bolts in stock and you have to wait for a week or so to get them. I'll never understand why no one makes aftermarket suspension bolts.

    Thanks this helped, do breaker bars help? It would seem a solid non racheting breaker bar could do the back and forth action you were talking about. Go from defeat to sweet?

      I have the same problem. did you get yours out? i was going to try heat but will try hammering the bolt head to try and shake it loose from the bushing.

    • @kampanomad1870
      @kampanomad1870 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No but I know how. I tried that with lowering and raising the back end and you will only bend up the housing around the bushing, so what i guess we can do is heat up the bolt head till its red hot and then slice it off with oxygen, then drive out the bolt, pry open the bushing housing and bushing should drop right out. Ive been trying to find this bolt and a panhard bar in junkyards but i stepped in a hole and broke my foot...so be careful out there.
