    Great video mate. You and I are pretty bang on in thoughts and the way we play haha. You started a Spratty Discord yet?

      @FanaPants 😂 thanks man!
      Na I've never really used Discord.
      I'll have to ask my 6yr old son how to use it 🤣

    100% agree with you bud! Banging video. I am seeing a lot of youtubers saying 1440p is worth it more than 4K gaming is but I really don't buy that at all.
    I most defo noticed the difference coming from FSR at 1440p...... once I got a Dell 4K 32 Inch Monitor it cleared up image quality a lot & with FSR at 4K I saw less artifacts and shimmering at that higher resolution. No doubt in my mind 4K is better
    It's also harder to go back to a lower resolution like you have said after gaming at 4K. I posted on Frogs channel that I really think it's once you have experienced a better Res you'll find it very hard to go back and lose pixels in image quality.
    Ultimately 1440p is fine especially if you're coming from 1080p but no chance is 1440p looking better than 4K imho. 4K is simply better at native & also with upscaling vs 1440p upscaling.
    FSR gets a lot worse at 1080p & think FSR 4K probably shields me from what lot of others experience these days with 1440p FSR if we're looking at shimmering in the distance and other AA imperfections
    I also think 4K gaming on the XTX is fine, not had any issues really at all getting enough FPS.
    4K gaming on a 4080, XTX and obviously a 4090 is fine because they are 4K GPUs!

      @RJTHEGAME absolutely!
      FSR at 4k is the best your gonna get from 4k.
      Plus if I have 24GB of vram available I wanna use it right?
      I didn't buy a GPU with this much power and 24GB of vram to play at 1440p.
      If I wanted to play at 1440p I'd have just gone with a 7800xt.

      @@Spratty-wb3is I'm with you man all the way! I do think it's a bit weird buying an XTX to game at 1440p. Like you say underselling it but maybe some are just more concerned with over 200fps or something insane.
      However on Modern Warfare 3, FSR 3 at 4k on the XTX you get well over a 100 FPS so surely that's enough and then can just max out all the settings ?
      Even native maxing everything out with details at 4K still managing over 100 FPS
      That's why I got the XTX to get the most out of 4K

    27'' 4k with the pixel density is the way to go, its the obvious best image. However They didn't make 4k OLEDs in 27inch.

      Is too small. I think 32" is the sweet spot for 4K and 27" for 1440p.

    That's the only reason i haven't upgraded to Oled UW cause im hoping someone released a 3840 1600p OLED UW. The only thing i dont agree with andrew is the XTX worth the extra money over the XT, but the 4080 Super doesn't, or 4090 is overhype. Other than that, i agree with you and his point of view.

    If you have a nvidia card your alot harder on fsr becuase you can compare it. But yeah if you dont its alot easier. But do you compare it to xess then?
    This is really good video on a topic im thanking about lately.

    • @Spratty-wb3is
      @Spratty-wb3is  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @c523jw7 xess is an option yeah but it's not always the best.
      I actually wonder if Intel sales don't go well with battlemage they decide to pull xess as being available for AMD users also.
      I mean if I was loosing sales to AMD and they were all using my upscaler I would 🤣..
      I mean realistically you have a ton of options now anyway so you can make anything work!,

    • @c523jw7
      @c523jw7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Spratty-wb3is that would be annoying for amd users. From a selling your product standpoint I would too.
      I got to really check out fsr 3.1 still haven't turned it on since launch. But I had a 2.1 experience recently. I turned it on in cyberpunk and at first looking at a wall I was like fsr is so close..then I looked at an npc 🤣. I stand by this fsr quality looks worse than flss performance at 4k on the old fsr ( it absolutely hurts that I have dlss 3.7.1 modded in). I'll have a look in ghost of tsushima. I'm actually surprised Froggy gave the nvidia cards the upper hand at 4k which I agree with but very surprised.. and I do agree the xtx is a great 4k card it has the raster power behind it. It's only limit is when you go a game that's so taxing with rt and then you got to use upscalers.

    • @Spratty-wb3is
      @Spratty-wb3is  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @c523jw7 I can see why he said it as at 4k there's more reliance on upscalers and dlss obviously has that advantage.
      But I'd still take 4k over 1440p and just turn down settings or live with FSR personally.
      At 4k it's really not that bad.
      Doesn't seem right having a 400w 24GB gpu to play 1440p does it?
      Might as well save 500 and just buy a 7800xt..

      @Spratty-wb3is interesting at like for like size your saying 4k dialled down looks better than 1440p maxxed..what's the performance like comparing both..that would be really interesting.
      Yeah xtx at 1440p, might as well stick to the 7800xt..it pains me to say that cus I don't like giving amd fanboys anything lol.

    4090 is the worst buy because of the issues with DSC and color wash once it goes above 4k120. Maybe when the 4090 hits $900 it'll be worth it.

    • @Spratty-wb3is

      @DonovanMcNabb5 there's only 2 monitors available and not widely available with DP 2.1.
      Pretty much every monitor and all the new 4k 240hz monitors I'm looking at have a DP 1.4 connection.
      Doesn't matter if your running a DP 2.1 on your GPU when it's connecting to a 1.4 monitor as the monitor is gonna need to use DSC..
      To use 10bit on my Alienware with the 7900xtx I have to drop to 120hz.
      If I select 165hz it reverts to 8bit.

      @@Spratty-wb3is i HAD a lg nanoIPS 27gp950 and the samsung g7 4k 28, and both of them did not play nice with the 4080. Looking at them with my actual eyes Im able to notice enough color wash for me to just say no to Nvidia as my personal choice. I sold my 4080FE, I have another 4080 that I'm flipping (got it for $700). Im sure its partly due to bitrate, but i think it's just something weird with NVidia gpus.
