I really enjoy the White Album as a whole. It's perhaps a few tracks too long, but I'm really not sure what I would cut. I don't think Side 3 is weak at all. I love the eclecticism of the record, and "Revolution 9" is great stuff. I really like sound collages and musique concrete. I do agree with you about "Good Night." It's a beautiful song, and letting Ringo have it all to himself adds a slightly goofy, whimsical touch to a beautiful lullaby. It probably is The Beatles' best closer.
While I don’t always agree with your rankings, I really enjoy your postings. I am amazed that this received so few likes. You do an outstanding job. How about including the U.S. albums, of which most of us from a certain age are more familiar? One additional comment, is I strongly agree that my favorite albums are Revolver and Magical Mystery Tour. The first side of Magical Mystery Tour is just perfect. Thanks again.
Solid rankings, Mike! Great way of looking at the albums as a whole and individual tracks. I definitely agree about preferring Let It Be Naked over the original arrangements.
Thanks man! I recently discovered these tier lists and have been loving making them especially during this quarantine lol definitely gonna be doing more
Since I'm an old guy, my favorite run of Beatles songs are (roughly) "Please Please Me" to "Help!". Boy, give me their 1962-1965 music as their sweet spot. For what it's worth, my two all-time favorite songs of all time are both Beatles songs... Twist And Shout and Please Please Me. Honorable mention to "A Hard Days Night", "I Want To Hold Your Hand", "She Loves You" and "Tell Me Why".
Fun fact about "Got To Get You Into My Life": Paul McCartney went on record saying that it's basically a love song for marijuana, so even Paul got in on the drug references on Revolver too. lol
I am that guy too! The guy who doesn't like Yellow Submarine that much and Revolver is still my favourite Beatles album(tied w Abbey Road). But Yellow Submarine.... they had Paperback Writer and Rain out, always thought Rain would be perfect on Revolver.
Great list!!! Some suggestions: Leonard Cohen, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Doors, Pink Floyd, and the solo discographys from the 4 beatles. Or maybe a top 10 best solo Beatles albums, would be awesome. I just discovered your channel and i'm loving it. From Brazil ♥️
Thanks so much man! Great list ideas too Pink Floyd is definitely the nearest one on the horizon. Just gotta refresh myself on some of the earlier and later albums
A Hard Day's Night - A C??? One of the most influential albums of all time. For me it's a classic . How can you rank all those Beach Boys albums higher than this . It's brilliant.
I agree with you, that is the one album that I’ve changed my mind on over the past year, I still stand by my other rankings but I think I needed a little more time with that album for it to grow on me. Unfortunately I can’t edit this video to my updated ranking haha. I’ve always liked The Beach Boys more then the Beatles though, just my personal preference coming from more of a jazz background. Brian Wilson’s compositions and harmonic language really resonate with me a lot
@@MikeGodetteMusic HDN is the only one where I think you're just wrong, so its a good one to reevaluate. I think you slightly overrate Magical Mystery Tour and Let it Be which i'd call A and B respectively. HDN is at least an A, possibly even S!
I have to agree with the comment about the Beah Boys! Talk about bubble gum pop, there's more filler on every Beach Boys album than all the Beatles put together. To give so many C and D ratings is just wrong. And finally, I would argue that the Beatles harmonies are equally as good and the melodies are even stronger!
1. White album 2. Abbey road 3. Magical mystery tour 4. Sgt. Peppers 5. Revolver 6. Rubber soul 7. Help! 8. Let it be 9. A hard day's night 10. Beatles for sale 11. Yellow submarine 12. Please please me 13. With the beatles
Is it fair to downgrade songs simply because you've heard them a lot of times? Couldn't you recall whether you liked them the first several times you heard them and grade them accordingly? With that said, I'm pretty much in line with your rankings

Corrections
The Guitar solo on “Good Morning Good Morning” is Paul, not George
The vocals on “Chains” is George, not Paul

Good Night is absolutely stunning and very underrated. Reminds me of early Disney
Great listing! I like how yellow submarine is nonexistent haha.. poor hey bulldog!
Sorry but Good Morning Good Morning's guitar solo is by Paul McCartney
Wow never knew that thanks for letting me know!
Fun fact about "Got To Get You Into My Life": Paul McCartney went on record saying that it's basically a love song for marijuana, so even Paul got in on the drug references on Revolver too. lol
I was 12 years old when Sergeant peppers came out and it was musically and socially unparalleled. Top 5 recordings of second-half 20th century.

A Hard Days Night is top notch! Every song on it is great.

Spot on... 2 changes with me, would be moving "Hard Day's Night" to a B. And No love for "Yellow Submarine" I would give an A. It is a Beatles album.
You might as well skip letters B to D completely.
1. White album
2. Abbey road
3. Magical mystery tour
4. Sgt. Peppers
5. Revolver
6. Rubber soul
7. Help!
8. Let it be
9. A hard day's night
10. Beatles for sale
11. Yellow submarine

Yes! Finally someone who understands that Magical Mystery Tour is superior to Sgt. Pepper.
Uh, Mike.....that's George on "Chains"
Thanks for the heads up! Sorry for the mistake
