Nice video. I have some points however: 1) I like combination of Brutalize (Unyielding Ferocity) and Execution (Grim Resolve). The reason is that with Brutalize you can fill your Might bar almost full with just 3 separate attacks. The good thing about brutalize is that at least 2 enemies flee so you have easy time brutalizing escaping victims as well. The Grim Resolve not only enables you to keep the might after combat but it will not be removed by random hit from a spear or some grunt. The only thing to be vary is Poison/Curse. So you can fill your might bar on 3 random grunts, stealth attack a captain and unleash two executions just to start the fight. Then if you feel like it you can switch over to Fatal Might if you wish. 2) Retaliation skill by itself is not useful. However it is good to have "Adamant" skill that gives you additional last chance. You will not use it much but when you do it will be in a tough fight. So it is a nice ability. 3) I like spectral dash more than sprint. If I do not want to make noise I use stealth mode as I probably want to do stealth execution. However spectral dash enables you to quickly leave scene of action. 4) For shadow strike I like shadow dominate. It allows you to dominate enemies even if you you do not have the story Dominate upgrade from the story. Later on dominating grunts is less important then for instance getting full life or having some shots replenished with drain especially if you have rise dead ability. Both of these can be used mid fight with Consume - replenishing your health and ammo. Pull is nice situational skill that enables you to pull captains to secluded location (e.g. unaccesible roof) to have a duel instead fighting their bodyguards or Elite Ologs. Works on Overlord as well. 5) I like call Graug ability. Not to ride them but just to use them as distraction in fight especially against Overlord. I feel there is enough caragors around to ride them using Shadow Mount anyways. Drakes are good for siege or to traverse maps with hills. 6) For dominate captain I like lifeblood. This enables you to heal your captains during siege.
Thanks for the input and for sharing your thoughts. There's no doubt that Shadow Dominate is pretty much a must have, however at the time of recording this video I didn't have it unlocked yet. I believe I said it's a good and useful upgrade. if not, it's my mistake. Graugs are great for Siege, especially when attacking. You are right that they also cause more chaos than Caragors. As for Adamant - I find it much more useful for Nemesis. My first attempts on the highest difficulty were tough as I had to adapt and change my behavior from "I don't care what you got" to "Ok, I need a tactic to beat you" :)
I just bought the game and watched your basic skills video. These 2 are the best Skills guides I have seen. Thanks for all the explanation, buddy. Howdy from Texas!
I just want to say to whoever you are who uploaded this video, man from bulgaria, this is the most informative easy to understand, ordered, easy to navigate tutorial video I have ever seen on youtube....you are awesome man I will forever watch your video game videos buddy....
So, which is your favorite skill in the game and why? Beginners opinion:Poison tendril: Poison explosions awesome and pulling bosses for set up solo fights using shadow pull is just as fun. Rider traits: I break them then I jump immediately off and let them do there thing. I agree they are very sloppy. I know its old vid but fun starter vid man tyvm. Kay (Got it 3 days ago May/2020). Only thing thats a pet peeve so far are captain interactions. Especially nazgul battles. Dont die cause they will make you suffer there speech yet again. Laters all.
Thank you so much for this video. Very useful. BTW, you're right it's wraith (as in mate) and wrath (as in rot) or as in raft for US. Sorry I'm phonologist : )
Hey mate, I loved your witcher videos and it's nice to see you care about another game I love as well. I think you should absolutely unlock shadow drain in the shadow strike ability upgrades. You can get a small heal in a pinch and can create some followers from far away. Packmaster in the caragor ability is very good as well since during late game one headshot is enough to break a caragor and caragor riders come in groups, so best case scenario with 3 to 5 arrows you get 3 caragors. If something else comes to mind I'll let you know.
when can we upgrade the abilities like Grim resolve that have the half bar shown. when i try to upgrade it, it does not show anything. Can we upgrade it twice?
Thanks :) I can't remember if I said "parent skill" in the video or you have heard it somewhere else. In any case it should refer to the main skill that you have to initially unlock before you can unlock and of its upgrades. For example "Fatal Might" is one of the 3 available upgrades to the parent/main skill "Execution" (vulkk.com/2017/10/09/shadow-of-war-skill-tree-full-overview/#EXECUTION)
question I play the Xbox version of this game and have different skills such as elven rage and such, I mean I just got the game but does pc have different skills or did the game get updated to have the skills that Xbox has
