YES! Bring a tool!! A couple of years ago we were in a gravel race and one of our friends got a flat and never thought to bring a tool to remove the axle. My brother and I had ones with leavers and so didn't have anything to fit. Fortunately, a guy stopped who had one.
Congratulations GC, it’s amazing how you have had the chance to review three top road bikes for 2022… try to get a hold on the Pinarello Dogma F that is really hot right now too…
@@GCPerformance18 My bad… I re checked and I saw it… You are already ahead of your audience… Congratulations, your channel is a must see when buying a new road bike… keep up the good work…
@@GCPerformance18 thank you!!! I'm having another bike project with V3RS as the frame. However I'm not a big fan of SRAM nor Campy. No disrespect to those brands, but I've always been a Shimano fan. Therefore I think I'm gonna have to wait till the new Shimano Dura Ace comes out. What's delaying my new bike project are: 1. Di2 junction box - I wish V3RS could accommodate that by putting the Junction Box either in the frame (e.g BMC SLR 01 or Pinarello F12) or in the Seatpost (e.g. Tarmac SL7). 2. ENVE handlebars - Since V3RS don't accommodate junction box, then I have no choice on putting it in the bar end plug. But the thing is, aesthetically speaking I don't like it when ENVE bar end plugs get cut off.
I don't know man....for me that bike isn't comparable to an Émonda or a Tarmac SL6 (no SL7 here 😂). It doesn't look right for me. Also, the BB isn't that great, I mean it's another standard that doesn't bring anything better. It's a "TF-45" so you can't use any T-47 tool or BB, and your only after market option is Ceramicspeed...so ~300€ for a BB that's going to be trashed after 5.000km...not great. Yes you can use a normal press-fit BB86 inside the threaded sleeve that comes with the bike, but it's so much heavier than just having a "direct" press-fit against carbon or an aluminium sleeve.... I don't understand why they did this, it seriously doesn't make sense to me. They, in a way, admitted that making a press-fit bb is too hard for them so they went back to a threaded bb with a press-fit cup in it. You could argue it's for ease of maintenance but when you need another tool *just* for that bike that doesn't do it 😂 But enough rambling, happy to see another vid from GC, as always they are 👌
thanks so much!!! I mean they made this bike for those to have a competitive bike with every other company, that frame design with the all interanl cables is proven to be fast, I dont know why they ddint do threaded either but I mean the bb aint bad, I had to deal with specialized osbb ceramic speed bb and tell customers they had to spend 300 bucks every time it cracked or creaked so I got a lot of kickback all the time so I understand what u are saying but I mean when u buy a 13000 dollar bike then you have to understand parts are going to cost money to replace lol
Heavy, why put disc breaks on a road bike. My De Rosa rim break weights 6.5kg. Disk is great for gravel or mtb but is not for road and adds 0.5 to 1kg to the overall weight doesn't make sense on a road bike. Only time disk is better on road is when it's raining and you are decending down a mountain.
@@GCPerformance18 idk mabey if you are riding casually but for racing rim breaks are the way to go lighter faster climbing more areo, tests proved rim breaks go down mountains just as fast as disc except in the rain. I personally think all or most of the pros would ride rim if given the choice. I personally feel like the big brands know this and just market disks because they are more expensive to buy and maintain it doesn't make sense for racing in my opinion idk why amateur racers who have a choice between rim and disk pick disk breaks sometimes?
The frame looks almost exactly like the M10 I bought in 2014. Size was a 54S. Well balanced and compliant bike. I put full Chorus on mine with Zipp bar and stem. The wheels were Campy Shamal Mille and the weight 16.5 lbs. Loved that bike but I sold it for a custom USA built titanium frame with some modern enhansments . Why did that idiot put SRAM group on an Italian bike, it should have had a Campy group on it.. I hate SRAM.
@@GCPerformance18 Yeah what's up with Shimano? My local shop has been saying he can't get anything and lots of Folks can't ride their bikes because they are down. It took me two months to get a Dura-Ace rear derailleur and I'm into the third month waiting for a RD Cage part to fix the broken RD. I hear it's still Covid and the Japanese don't want the vaccine. That's stupid.
"Wireless is the future" aka, when your rear derailleur stops working in the middle of the ride you can just make your front derailleur stop working instead. Instead of having two fully functional mechanical derailleurs

okay so he is a sponsered rider from colnago so he got this bike to ride, and because of components shortages, he only got a frame and the shop only has sram groups because sram is the only company who ahs whole groups.... that are giving them out to influners like gcn..... shimano and campoy have some components but they are always missing something.... also those wheels are made in house by the store that works on his bike... they are ncie wheels for sure
@@GCPerformance18 agreed on Shimano and especially Campy not having jack until Q4. I tried getting a Super Record and Record group, nothing until December. Obviously SRAM make excellent stuff, just needed to do some clowning. Lol.
@@GCPerformance18 Lol, disc brake only bike and frameset. And a true cable integration. Listen, the Colnago's are great looking bikes. My frustration with all Italian bike brands is they act like the German car manufacturers 10yrs ago. Overcharging customers because they can (brand recognition), but yet way behind on innovation. This is why I replaced my Bianchi for the Factor. Does the Bianchi looks great, absolutely, so is the Factor. The Ostro uses a lot higher grade of carbon, much better handling and responsiveness and when you stomp on the pedals it's a monster. If Tadej or Roglic were riding an Ostro Vam no one would come even close to them. I get it- if you put the right riders on the right bikes, pro cycling will become what F1 is today, boring to watch! ;)
